i make these for a living. you put too much oil. you wanna use 2 tsp of water. 1 tbsp of coconut oil. and 1/2 tsp of essential oils.
some videos say you can use olive oil instead of coconut oil is there a big diffrence?
rachelscott21 i use vegetable oil instead and it works just as good.
Or (technically) no water at all. I use 99% alcohol. They turn out great every time.

The reason it wasn't pigmented is because you used soap color. Soap color is supposed to have very little color pay off so it doesn't stain. You should use a little food dye and you will be fine.
soap color has amazing color if you bloom it. i know because i make bath bombs i sell

I made these, i think without the corn starch and the oil, it worked just as good! it leaves out the funky looking air pockets, but it doesn't live as long but still fizzes really well

I know this looks awesome, and I'm not hating, but please don't do this. There is a reason why lush is kind of expensive, and that's because it has ingredients that aren't bad for your girlie parts, and maybe a tiny bit good. This is NOT good for girlie parts. Again, not hating just letting you know. I love her channel.
+Maddie Hanson Actually, Lush uses baking soda & citric acid in their bath bombs as well. This is perfectly safe. Although, baths are not very healthy for females in general - in terms of increasing the chance of developing UTIs. Glad you enjoy my channel!

+Kate King I know sea salt is healthy for your skin! Not sure if the other ingredients have benefits, but Lush uses them in their natural products so they shouldn't be bad. :)

baking soda is good for pH balance in women.
I have to give my daughter baths in baking soda when she has private part issues... Cuz she's two and is very curious about down there. I was told to do it by a pedi.
And corn starch dries out your skin but I'm pretty sure that little bit isn't goin to do to bad, you can always just put lotion or coconut oil on after the bath 😘

Definitely something to keep in mind. I’ve never used them, until recently did I buy some for my son, because of the fizz, but then when I threw one in, I wasn’t too certain about it not irritating his skin 😣’ so I just came to look at some videos to learn more about them.

advice to people wanting it try this. you can add your oils/fragrance and colour to all your dry ingredients excluding citric.. once all combined then add the citric at the very end.. stops the reaction and you have more time to play with the mix

Mail haul!
Lush has tons of different products, not just bath bombs! I know it won't really make a difference but just thought you should know. They have like face things, shower gels, bar soaps, makeup (if I remember correctly) and a shampoo bar thing I think? I haven't really been either but it all sounds cool.
I would like to see a mail haul. I am also really into your polymer clay videos. I like sculpting because i am a cake decorator.
There's a lush in Cincinnati, Columbus, Beachwood, and I think Cleveland is getting one soon too!

I believe the reasons Lush bath bombs are so colorful in the tub is because they use pigments instead of soap colorants. But I'm not 100% sure. Btw, great video!! :)

Finally someone counts indigo as a colour! In second grade we were learning the order of the rainbow and she didn't even mention indigo and I put up my hand and asked her "what about indigo? She said it wasn't a colour. Grrr...

Hmmmm...I wonder if you did one that was just one or two colors if it would have a more pigmented look in the water and it wouldn't take as long with making multiple color mixtures. Looks, cool!

A great way to make sure that your bath bomb is hard and will not fall apart or s instead of letting the mold sit out overnight put it in the freezer or fridge overnight!

Our first try didn't hold together. So we did another batch and put them into little individual treat boxes like the ones used for cookies and truffles, lined with clear plastic wrap. That way we didn't have to take them out of the molds. When they're used, they can just be lifted out of the box and unwrapped, and put into the tub. The recipe in the video makes two.
