This is a classic misunderstanding. The work you referred to is a collection of stories told from westerners’ viewpoint and it is not considered true arabic literature in arab countries. But thanks for your comment.

We have one thousand and one night in Arabic and it is perfect. You will be able to read it once you are in your Advanced level inshallah (even upper-intermediate is great).
