Y'all are a delight as usual. "Cut me to the quick' I immediately went to dog's nails as you don't want to cut the quick (it's painful and bleeds). So, I was close...just the human version of that.

Chelsea your American Welcome is looking so good and seeing Annie’s framed piece made me go straight to “schooming” that chart! Hi ladies! Got the grands out the door and am enjoying your FT! I loved your Nelson and Blueskin finishes. They are next up on my stitch list. Just yesterday I found a tiny little Nelson figurine, under two inches, in the National Archives gift store. He is on his way to me to be displayed somehow when I complete the stitch. That sent me Down a rabbit hole looking for a Blueskin, but while no luck with a figurine I found a felt ornament of Washington riding Blueskin at the Mountain Vernon gift shop. It’s already shipped. Again, not sure if I’m going to do a shadow box or what. Just had to share!!

cut to the quick might refer to trimming dog nails. You must only cut to the quick and not beyond.
