I don't know if I've said it before, but the drums are always so underrated in guilty gear. I love the songs where you can tell the drummer is having a lot of fun and not just holding a pattern the whole way through.
This song is actually used for the VS screen before a fight starts in both Xrd and Strive. Normally you just hear the opening and then get into a fight
And its actually the full song if I remember correctly. Once in a blue moon, the game will have issues connecting, and the vocals will start blaring
In Xrd this is actually arcade mode boss theme
it’s Xrd’s crawl, except this one is jacko’s theme instead of nago’s
I started playing Strive on a super trashy PC, hearing half of the song was common place. At least it was and is a fire song lmao

You’re right though. Daisuke still composed Guilty Gear music, but Xrd marked the first time in the series Daisuke worked with Naoki Hashimoto (from the band Outrage). Which had a huge infulence for that kinda sound in those games, moving into Strive. Also I think Daisuke has his own stable of session musicians. You’ll actually see overlap for some of the musicians going across Guilty Gear and BlazBlue games. Dunno if that info helps.
Correction, Vastege XT (that random pachinko game) was the first time Naoki Hashimoto worked as the vocalist for a Guilty Gear game. It's where Shotgun and Head, Dice, Storyteller, and Coming Home came from.

If I recall correctly, all of Xrd's vocal themes have also instrumental versions of them in the game

Finding out that the vs loading screen theme before a match (that just plays for a couple seconds) is actually this awesome full theme with LYRICS felt so legendary to me

It is strange that Jesse has already reacted to 15 songs from Guilty Gear, but still no one requested the best ones. Like Icarus, Big Blast Sonic, Coming Home or Dear Song. I am not even talking about Blank or something.

I haven't heard this in awhile so it's nice to get a refresher.
This starts off kind of like Nago's theme, awesome riffs but that's expected with GG. I always love the vocals in GG and they are just as good in Xrd as they are in Strive. I love how layered they are, the super harmonized parts during the chorus is my favorite part, love how they sound. The mix up was great, I actually really like Naoki's clean vocals. To me that mix up was a moment of relaxation but then you were pulled back into the fight out of nowhere. Those drums are indeed awesome, I very much enjoyed this song.

One of the if not the best GG song imo. Divide my heart, Freesia, All I can do, Six black heavens guns, Icarus, Jack o Dandy and Rokumon are pretty close though.
Btw acoustic guitars and "lighter" instruments were used A LOT in Xrd's vocal songs. Which is one of the many reasons why I prefer it over strive
Character songs have an instrumental and vocal version, and of course the live performance and music album versions that tend to be noticeably different too. I wouldnt say the stages have themes, but some songs require certain things to trigger. For example: Still in the dark=Milla & Zato while Holy Orders(Be Just or be Dead) version 3 plays if Ky's hairdo comes undone
Megadeath is a class of Gear in lore that fought during a 100 year war called the Crusades, against a force called the Sacred Order of Holy Knights. so, funny you mention that song specifically :P
Another banger from Daisuke as always--goes to show that this series just has no bad music; it has a flavor of music for everyone. This song is always one of the favorites to just belt out on (whether it be singing or belting out combos).
I think for the next GG Song we should check out, lets go from rock and metal to something more sobering--something sad--lets check out "Freesia" or "Lily". They're definitely heavy hitters if you know the characters especially.
But if you want more rock or metal? "Find Your One Way" from Strive or "Ride The Fire!" from Xrd. Also "Six Black Heaven Guns" from Xrd is also nice.

Xrd came out in 2014, and it was very different from the older stuff, but it laid the groundwork for Strive’s vocal themes with its own! This is actually the loading theme for that game, despite not being from it.
Also, I believe they’ve never done stage themes specifically, always character themes! BlazBlue is the same way, and I love them in both. I’ve always preferred hearing the theme of the characters I fight or play as to the themes of the stage I’m in personally (Tekken is an exception, I love the stage themes there)
Character themes also lets them do vs themes and interactions like that
IIRC Isuka had stage themes. Overture maybe too

One of my favorites from Xrd Rev 2 is Bao Babel Nose. It doesn’t have any vocals, but man if that guitar isn’t killer I don’t know what is.
Oh btw, this song does appear in Strive! It’s the loading screen music when you start a match. But you don’t really get far into the song because it doesn’t take that long to start

Once You listen to The Mask Does not Laugh, It's just Guitar that takes the stage, it's so good, the Guitar riffs in this song remind me of that a lot, but I don't go a day without listening to The Mask does not Laugh 😭😭

There are some videos of the band preforming a couple of the songs from strive, I'd find and link them but I'm on my phone right now.
And because you always ask for tracks that people don't like, I think you'll get a kick out of birthday train from guilty gear xrd's story mode. It's not a bad song but it's extremely different from most guilty gear music.
