You have to look back at the history of the tournament. Ichiro created a legendary experience winning the first two for Japan. Darvish was there for the second one and he passed on the experience coming to the Japan team camp on time. (other major leaguers were held back by their teams) And we have arguably the best player in the world this time around. People talk about the Trout vs Shohei but it's way more to the Japanese then that from a history perspective.
