Great video Kevin. For those that live in high precipitation areas like me I'd highly suggest getting a bottle of LIQUID ELECTRICAL TAPE to seal the splices and prevent any potential moisture corrosion. Also, I would advise against using WD-40 even though we all have some laying around. Instead, get some Super lube as it won't swell up the rubber components over time as it's not petroleum based. Pin this if you desire to help everyone out!
love the 4th brake light. But can I make it only light up when I push the brake on? I afraid those 4th light at bottom will glare some of the motorist if only on.
Had similar kit which was available on amazon, and it saved my rear many times. That extra, bright stop light, located in odd place, makes ppl react to it much sooner then without. It's almost a must-have safety upgrade for our cars.
i just bought that kit and seen how its much brighter in the dim setting. then i seen the end of the video about overlays but i can't find any videos of it.
Just did this install…you certainly make it look easy😅 but it went well. Question: my light seems to be full brightness whether I’m braking or not. Possible I didn’t tap into a wire properly? Any suggestions?
In case anyone else has had this issue, I did finally figure it out. In the instructions from the iJDM people, it notes that different batches of lights may have different wiring colors. So I switched the red and blue wire contacts and now all is well. Maybe this is just an I-don’t-know-what-I’m-doing issue, but now it’s out there for the internet.
I am wondering why the rubber gasket that you have to smash into place and hope it doesn't leak or fall out does not have about a 1/8" slot around the perimeter so it just slots into the new hole. Also, is the LED bulb assembly replaceable if / when it fails? In other words, is it a standard type bulb base and socket? Thanks! Great idea.
There is a slot in the base of the rubber seal for the plastic to seat into. The bulb is built in so it isn't replaceable, but comes with a 1 year warranty.
What am I doing wrong? I've removed the tail light but for the life of me I can't get the plastic connector that connects the light to the harness apart. It looks like it should come apart with a squeeze at the top and bottom of the connector. I've tried this and even inserted a small screwdriver in the top to push down the piece that's holding it in. All with no results, it's still holding. What's the trick to getting this connector to release? ,,,(and don't say get a bigger hammer) 😎 NEVERMIND, I got it out!
Best advice I can give you is to just start doing it. So many people, myself included, spend too much time over-thinking it at the beginning. The reality is that your first 100 videos people probably aren't going to watch, but you just have to grind and put out the best quality content you can and improve on something every single time.
It's not a Kevin Vo video unless he takes a tail light off
i want a GR86 so bad. its hands down my number one favorite car.
You should also consider adding a wire loom to the kit, it wouldn't be too expensive and it would help a ton to prevent the wires from rubbing

I look forward to these videos every day! Thank you for the great educational content!
Glad you like them!
Kevin, thanks for this video. I purchased the kit and the install went smoothly. Love the look on my Halo GR86
I just did mine it looks sweet with the dark smoke overlay and new led lights. Thanks man.
Glad I could help!
Can you combine a this with the f1 blinking module?
Love your videos bro!!
Excellent as always!
Noble makes a $15 pnp harness that you can use with 4th brake lights/fogs (no taps required). Either way, great content as per usual!
Would be a great spot for an F1 style rain light
Hey Kevin, these would be nice if it came with a strobe function as well!
Hi kev blinking option coming soon?

Yes, you just don't connect the blue wire!

Man If I would’ve known you were gonna sell these I would’ve waited to buy your kit :(
Same 😭😭😭
Can we get some driving footage at night with the 4th brake light mod?
i just bought that kit and seen how its much brighter in the dim setting. then i seen the end of the video about overlays but i can't find any videos of it.

I would definitely double check the wiring as there should be two different brightness options.

Does anyone make an OEM looking replacement that does the F1 style flash like the OEM 3rd light does?
Sick 🎉

can I install this on a gr86 with rear fog lamp?
Wanted to have a 4th brakelight but keep the OEM look.
Can you do this on the previous Gen ? Obviously yeah but I mean with this specific kit
Yes, works on the 1st generation as well.

Hi Kevin! Big fan here, I figured you would know of anyone. Where could I get an exhaust hole filler like your GR86 for my 2019 wrx? Thank you sir! 🫶🏼

Do these also work for after-market tail lights? For example the HRS GR86/BRZ Tail Lights?
Yup! Just need to identify the wires for the ground, parking, and brake light to tap into.
Do the LEDs work one the 1st gen to replace the old bulbs ?
Yes!
Is the bulb replaceable on this for when it goes out?
If it's an LED bulb you're more likely to get a new car before the bulb burns out.
When you made the first vid a while ago. I bought the 1st gen amazon from jdmtoy or somethin. and the wire was too short 💀💀💀 hope this will be longer
Happened to me too, I just pinned it on the tail light a bit lower and it worked
I made sure these wires are a bit longer 😉
Will this work together with your f1 blinkers?
yeah pretty sure I have it on my gr and that shouldn’t interfere with the 4th brake light
❤️❤️❤️
Been watching you videos and I’ve been contemplating making some sort of content on yt, any advice?

holy shit i cannot get the rubber plug to go in. why not make the hole saw just a little bigger man.
