My mac is giving me alerts that i should set up proxy. I know my dna servers number; My IP address; Where do i get the Web Proxy Server URL address and Secure Web Proxy Server address?Can I use my apple ID and Password? Can I use SOCKS Proxy without the above Servers? OR Can i use Bypass Proxy Settings for this hosts and domains? I am on internet everyday. Watch movies, have a VPN , Netflix ITV.Do my payments to my bank, do shopping with Amazon browse FB and Twitter and the rest. Just giving you an idea how much I use online services to help yu give me your valuable advice. I enjoyed listening and watching your vidios. Very clear and consise. Finally, what is the best virus protection and malware protection to use for Macbook Air.My computer was affected before I uploaded Catalina. Thank you very much for your help. You certainly know what you’re talking about, so I had no choice but to subscribed. I haven’t had any issues with my iPhone and noticed that the proxy server was in fact disabled, so as you suggested, I left it as is.

It's a virtual sever hints the name proxy sever. If your at home you don't need it you'll be fine like he said in the video it's mostly used for multiple computers it's more ales a virtual sever. You can turn it on but why would if your not running multiple computers plus we have switches and routers and lot of better ways to set up severs so just leave it off you'll be fine

Yes you can. You can install a router OS onto the server and use it for Natting public IPs to private ones. The private IPs can be configured on many devices, or you could set up multiple private IPs on one device and use the server to forward packets to the correct IP if you need to separate traffic onto different NICs. You can't turn a routable (public) IP into multiple routable IPs, but you can hide & use multiple private nonroutable IPs behind a public routable one using NAT or configuring a proxy.
For Microsoft Windows/Office updates to multiple computers also try WSUS Offline Update (download.wsusoffline.net). You can basically maintain your own library of updates on a network share/usb drive. Great piece of software.

Using not web proxies but local proxies, e.g. ccProxy , wingate proxy etc , is it safe? With local proxies, no data go out to web?

Check your Antivirus Firewall Settings...Turn off the Real Time Shield...and your issue is fixed...

so NAT does the same thing as a PROXY? What about http proxy. I saw an http proxy in my friend's LAN network. Why he would use it in port 8080 🤔
