Completely understand the medication chat and feelings. I'm not diagnosed yet, so believe I have it, but I do have severe depression and have been on meds for it since I was old enough to be on it! And it takes time to find the right meds for you, but having found the right ones now for my brain, I am so pleased to be on them. I haven't had a severe depression episode in like over a year which is incredible. Meds have saved my life honestly.
So excited for you to take this step, so proud of you Emma 🥰 you got this

I completely understand you and can relate to your mental health talk, about a year ago I turned to medication and Im taking a small 5mg dose daily and a small dose goes so far! It helps me so much to function so my mind is not constantly at a battle with myself

Why do people think you are weak if you take medication for a mental health condition?! No one would think that if someone takes medication for a physical health condition. Its no different.

So proud of you Emma, and it’s so amazing that you have done so much for so long and tried so hard, power to you and your are NOT a failure by taking charge of your life and your symptoms. I have just received my ADHD diagnosis and I am hoping to go down the road of medication, because as you said yourself, I am sick of my brain. So I feel you completely. All the best and I hope it’s sooner rather than later for you and it does in fact bring so much more happiness and clarity to your life ❤❤❤

I have already commented but I relate to you so hard !! Going on medication made me feel like a failure but I looked at adhd like type one diabetes. Those ppl are literally born that way and so are we

Since getting my diagnosis of ADHD and being on those pills and going off my antidepressants, I am so much happier and I am in therapy still but I was so exhausted and depressed all the time and I thought antidepressents would help, but it was my adhd this whole time. And now I’m not as tired all the time, I can focus and read a book which is crazy.
Everyday is different and it’s not a cure for adhd. But know that once you find that right dose it’s great! Obviously with all medications everyday and how your body metabolizes it is different. I find some days are great other aren’t. But that’s normal!

Emma I so wish I could reach through the screen and give you a big cuddle!!! 💗 Honestly, if you had a broken leg or a chest infection you would take medication to make it better without even questioning it so please don’t feel shame for taking medication! It’s exactly the same! You should be SO proud of yourself for making this decision! You are so worthy of feeling happy and healthy and if there is a fix there then absolutely take it. You are enough 💜 xxx

Wishing you best of luck with getting medicated soon! It helps a ton. It's nice to not have your head be noisy all the time.
Just be aware that getting the right medication and dosage is a journey in itself! There's usually tons of side effects with the wrong ones (like a worse energy and motivation crash after a few hours, completely losing one's appetite, enhanced anxiety when off medication etc). So don't get discouraged, it'll get sorted!
Also, just like for you, working out has been tough the past few months. It's helped to start a new activity (bouldering) and just focus on doing a few favorite exercises in the gym, just like you did! Good job for succeeding in going though it can be a battle, proud of you!

Emma, please don't feel like you give up by taking medication! I felt like i had to fix my adhd all by myself for so long. I had therapy (i still have) but now I'm also taking the meds for a while. It doesn't fix my adhd, but it helps me lot's! For me it feels like everything doesn't hit me as hard as it did. (Sounds, visuals etc) and now I have way more energy, because everyday stuff doesn't drain me as much as it did. Also, it helps to tame down the enormous train of (negative) thoughts. They are still there sometimes, but now I'm much more able to say NO to them and send them back in their cage 😂
So I really hope you will give them a try if you have the feeling you need them, they don't fix it all, but they can definitely help you! It's not giving up, it's trying something else!
    Lot's of love, xxx❤

I’ve also been in a funk for the past three weeks. And it sucks. But you’re right - baby steps. As long as I workout, everything else always follows. But until I get out of the rut and get off my ass, I’m eating like shit, sleeping like shit, not moving. Went to the gym for the first time in 21 days this morning and UGH I LOVE THIS FEELING LOL

I mean this in the nicest possible way but please try to stay away from the medication. I feel like you indeed have ADHD but you’re struggles are completely normal. Burnout happens. I feel like any sort of struggle is your body’s way of telling you to slow down. Most people’s bodies can only handle so much. I know I only see the online part of you, but you do so muchh without the meds. And I don’t think the meds will make you happy, just more productive. And productively doesn’t equal happiness. Try not to compare yourself to other influencers. They’re on meds because they cant hang. You can hang girl. Just take time off when you need to. Fuck the system. This is coming from a person who deals with meds for a living
