Anil Kumble is from my College... He use to be a fast bowler in college later became a spinner... he was the backbone of Indian cricket and trump card for Azhar... Dravid, srinath, prasad, kumble, joshi all from same state... Saqlian U WERE ALSO AMAZING... u started bowling in the death overs, which no spinner could dare... We equally copied Imran Khan and the most dreaded and lethal bowler Wasim Akram (Wasim Bhai). We knew if Wasim Bhai is bowling, we (India) are three to four wickets down. So many variations Wasim Bhai had. Regards

no not just that always a bombayite scores over others due to the commercial clout and our preference to batsmen over bowlers and that is the reason why we didn't produce many bowlers be it spinners or fast bowlers where as all over the world it is very balanced appreciation and glorification. South has always been at the recieving end most of the times.

"Jumbo Jiant" very well captured in 2 words Saqlain bhai....
Saqlain Mushtaq is a gem of a person who invented the doosra for cricket. In terms of skills as an offspinner , he was second to none. He should have ended up with atleast 600 Test wickets. The PCB's unprofessionalism played a part in his career being shortened. Saqlain's lack of formal education also played a part in him not being able to manage his own career properly. International sports career is too short a time and too fast to be able to look back and make changes. Before your realize your mistakes, your sports career is finished. Unfortunately cricket is the loser here for Saqlain not realizing his potential.

A Legend who invented the Doosra, Saqlain despite ending on the losing side, his positive comments on Kumble, who inflicted that telling defeat upon Pakistan, goes to show how clear hearted Saqlain is and speaks volumes of his virtues. Hallmark of a true sportsman.
Saqlain's own greatness is no less.. He is one of the greatest off spinners the cricketing world has ever seen.
His achievements in a short period of 9 years is note worthy and amazing. Who can forget his World Cup Hattrick performance against Zimbabwe (Olonga, Huckle, Mbangwa), Sad his career was shortened by 9-10 years, something which still remains a mystery
Had he played till the age of 37-38, he would surely have been in the wicket taking league of Muththaiah, Warne & Kumble.
Nevertheless still one of the greats of modern cricket. A talent that was wasted by Pakistan.
As a Cricket Administrator and coach, he can still contribute.

He was a great bowler, BUT as for as his 10 wickets are concerned, in my humble opinion he took five wickets and five were gifted to him by the Indian umpire. That Indian umpire should have been rated in all time legends as well.
