September 1965 - the month I became a teenager and Satisfaction was No.1.
It absolutely amazes me that we still have these legends not only alive but still touring in 2024! God bless the Stones.
I will see them 8 times this spring and summer
still alive in 2024 hmmm ,and touring you say - hmmm - 2 of them have died, charlie watts & brian jones -- touring,i guess its possible, but unlikely - hard to believe anything in your comment really --
wow and your going to see them 8 times,on you tube ,or by some other means ? hmm
now george has a great collection ,that i do believe - awesome -- awesome -- awesome
@@dustyhills7552 So why would you think I give a damn what you think?
❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@atlanteantruthyou got that right! I'll be seeing the stones this summer for the 5th time. Not sure wtf that dusty dude was trying to say? If you have Mick and Keith, you have the rolling stones!
My father who died 7 years ago told me since i was a child that he was 14 years old and he was in this crowd. He said that this concert were the best moments he ever experienced. My family live in Münster and my dad always was so proud to tell me about this evening. I would give everything to show him this recording.....sadly it´s not possible anymore
😢 sad history. I felt more or less the same way.
Nothing hurts like losing your father and remembering those good times is great but still having them back would be even better. Glad you have that story to remember!

Happy 80th Birthday,Mick! Who thought you’d still be rockin to that crazy sound in 2023!? Amazing I was 14 and dancing in my room to this on my record player in 1965! Now I’m 71 and still rockin with you on RUclips! Loved The Rolling Stones since I was a freshman in high school! Now I’m a great grandma! Wow! Still love you! ❤
The same to me
Heh... this concert was the day after I was born! 😂
Great. I think it's good to have rock n roll grandma. Stones are still hot!
Stones are the greatest !
Yeah just today announced they’re touring 2024! Gonna be extremely difficult but we’re gonna try get tix for July.
I met Mick and Keith in a neighborhood tavern when I was a child. I went with my Dad to pick up his instruments from a gig from the night before. He was an accordion player who lead a Polka Band. In walk these two. They conversed with my father for a while, after seeing him with his instruments. They bought me a soda, and patted me on the head, while calling me a fine young lad. My Dad always told everyone that story. R.I.P. Dad ❤️
Thank You , A Sweet Tale Indeed
Damn to think they are still rocking all this time !! Frickin amazing .
Nice story .
Thanks for sharing your story, very cool.
What style of Polka band?
I was not even born then.. .Now I go to their concerts... The last one in Metlife NJ.... It is awsame...
This is when Jagger was the coolest lead singer in the Universe. His stage presence is incredible.
and its 1965!!!!
Pfffffffffffffff you mean Keit Richards an Brain were cool ................. mick could have been replaced by many
Way cooler than today's stadium Mick .
@@haraldversteegden2562 I disagree. Jones was always the epitome of cool and with Jagger not far behind. But in the 60s, Richards looks like the most gawky and unnatural stage presence I've ever seen. In my opinion, it was only at the end of the decade, after about 8 years apprenticeship observing Jones and Jagger, that Richards finally came into his own on stage. His increasing drug dabbling also probably 'helped'.
Yeah, well for my penneths worth - I felt Mick was pushing the the proverbial S*** up hill and if he'd stopped for a beat the whole thing would have fallen over. Mick was incredible!
For a 1965 show, this is great! Also rare to hear Brian's guitar louder in the mix than Keith's.
the best part too!
That's the cool thing. Brian was a very good slide and rythm guitarist and Keith is - as always - a miserable lead guitarist. Just listen to his bad and simple solo on the studio version of "Sympathy ..." in 68. Here he plays false notes on in the beginning of the Satisfaction riff.
But is fun to hear the band as a unit in 65.
Charlie really drives them and Brian and Bill are cool!
Yeah, no kidding. It sounded nice and raunchy, too. Great tone on that Chuck Berry rhythm
R.I.P Brian Jones Legendary Musician 🤟🎸🥁🎤

When I was growing up you were either a Beatles fan or Stones fan. The youngest of 5 kids I followed what my siblings liked. We were a Stones family. Eventually I became a huge fan of Beatles. Still can’t get enough of both bands.
That was brilliant….I was born in 1965, which means I’ll be 60 soon, and The Rolling Stones are still performing !!!!
Just think. Twenty years before this concert, British and German dads were fighting each other.
Saw them at Sofi Los Angeles July 13, 2024, they were amazing and in their 80s...OMG!!!!!
Ahhh, the Brian Jones era. The best they ever were.......
so true!
Exile on Main St was their pentacle album 1972

Mick Taylor wasn't bad either: Let It Bleed (1969), Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! The Rolling Stones in Concert (1970), Sticky Fingers (1971), Exile on Main St. (1972), Goats Head Soup (1973) and It's Only Rock 'n Roll (1974).
And the Ronnie Wood Era has been great to Some Girls,Tattoo You,Voodoo Lounge . The fact is the Rolling Stones have been great in an Era
Wow Brian Jones on the firebird!

@@HARALDEMANN maybe.
This is pure gold. Brian Jones in his prime and pomp driving the band hard, Jagger is amazing too. And Charlie is smiling. Great stuff!
Brian Jones was a great Rhythm Guitar player and was strictly all business on stage!
No one dressed like Brian!
Damnit!
John Winston ONO Lennon was always criticizing Mick and Jagger never once said a bad word about The Beatles even though they were a truly shitty "live" band!
Had The Rolling Stones performed on the Apple Rooftop with The Beatles in 1969, The Stones would have blown them off the roof!
When I was a boy in the 60s, I'd always check out The Rolling Stones albums and Singles to see Brian.
Brian Jones was my favourite Stone!
I wanted to dress like him and have a haircut like him!
I'll never forget July 4,1969!
I was 11 years old and my family and my late cousin Julio's family were celebrating American Independence Day at Hansen Dam in Lakeview Terrace, California.
We were barbecuing and having a ball swimming.
Later on, my cousin Julio, brother Tony and I walked across the street to a Liquor Store to buy Ice Cream and Soda Pops.
As we walked in, I went over to a stack of newspapers and was staggered reading the headline which read something like "Rolling Stone Drowns In Pool Tragedy".
I shouted out to my brother Tony, "hey Tony, I think Mick Jagger drowned in his pool" as I continued reading I found out it was Brian Jones and that he drowned the day before in his pool on July 3,1969.
I was simply stunned.
I wasn't aware Brian Jones was dismissed by The Rolling Stones on June 9,1969.
Later on my dad dropped us off at White's Record Store in Pacoima, California.
We admired Mr. White, an Afro-American, who always had his store stocked with Rolling Stone records.
I was surprised to see he was open. It was Friday July 4,1969.
As I walked in I asked him if he'd heard of Brian's death and said he had and how sad it was.
He then said that The Rolling Stones just released a new Single that very day and I couldn't believe it!
The Single was "Honky Tonk Woman/You Can't Always Get What You Want".
I guess that's one of the reasons Mr. White opened that day.
I immediately bought it and took it home!
I quickly noticed Brian wasn't on the cover.
The cover depicted The Rolling Stones standing at a bar with new Stone Mick Taylor.
I was blown away by Charlie's Drums at the beginning of the song!
I sat there in my room listening to that single countless times mourning Brian's passing.
I just couldn't believe he no longer graced this Earth.
REST IN ETERNAL PEACE ~

Raw, bluesy, no fancy fireworks, just five guys doing the rock and roll blues and Mick knew how to front this fabulous band of great musicians.
Mick is the greatest front man of all time.
@@gregd2838 That hip shaking swagger, and real singing, even the occasional slight flaws just add to the mystique, which I look for a return to now that people are finally starting to reject this current "woke" era of garbage entertainment which sounds perfect but has no soul
It's almost 2024 and these guys are coming to Cleveland and guess what..... they still gonna be singin that new hit from 1965 Satisfaction!!
What a mind blower man. These guys are still killin it with the new album and hit single Angry. Who'd a thought they'd be still rockin in 2023 back then in 1965?

Mick and Keith were 22 years old and already rocking hard 🔥
@Brad Moxon Thanks be to Brian Jones for hiring them.

Love Brian's beautifully crafted Gibson Firebird and Kieth's Epiphone Casino. A pair of really classic 60's USA guitars.
Hey you might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like The Rolling Stones!
love to have that firebird. likely a 64 or 65.

59 years later and Mick and Keith and the Stones are still doing it, live on stage to this very day! Minus Brian and Charlie and Bill now, and with some other changes. But Mick is still running and dancing just the same as in 1965. Mick has to be one of the most remarkably fit 80-year old people on the planet, a true ultra-athlete. And what can you say about Keith? He's also a truly remarkable man in every way. I've been a fan ever since 1964 and they are as great to me as ever.
Brian Jones was a fantastic rhythm guitar player, he'd got the blues. He was too young to die.
yes and definatley did not deserve to be murdered in his pool by the workman that their then road manager, south london gangster sent round to Brian,s place to help him paint his house !!

Yes Brian was the mastermind and this was his band. Brian started the Rolling Stones
We know this .
I remember in third form back then the teacher said classical music lasts over the centuries and pop music does not.
I raised my hand and earnestly replied "The Rolling Stones 'Satisfaction' has been number one for 11 weeks."
Mick was so young here and so self assured and confident, performing, he seems like a natural at it.
Tons of energy!

This was ? Nahhh…. So many better later on in their careers!
So cool those shots of him sliding up and down the Thunderbird!
@@patricktenero3994 Brian had a certain touch that most guitarists of his day didn't have. Dave Davies was the other killer back then that we all listened to. It's because we all love Link Wray. Haha!
All those young Germans born during and immediately after the War. The devastation and misery that they must have experienced, however they sure let loose that night.
Hear the little feedback squeal when Keith kicks in the fuzz on Satisfaction. The very earliest days of distortion, still finding their way.

Five star. Jones is great. Easy to forget how great he was in a band he founded.

This is the Brian Jones that should be remembered. He was a great musician and serious at this stage of the stones. Playing a Gibson Firebird and Fender Amp!

Brian Jones kicked a__ overall performance brilliant, brilliant video... the band 8s definitely on this day...
It's simply incredible how heavy and raw the stones sounded in their live performances, fantastic!
We can't get no satisfaction, the way Brain was shafted!
Check the audience - some are obviously just stunned by Micks’ uncanny, riveting performance during “It’s Alright”. A human spectacle on another level to anything a singer had done before. A legend in the making right there folks.
"A human spectacle on another level to anything a singer had done before."
True for some of the stiff British audience of whites at the time. Although, on stage moves were inspired by James Brown, not that there's anything wrong with that at all.
James Brown comes to mind
You can really hear Brian right up front and center. Heavy Rock!
Saw them in San Diego in 1965! My first stone concert,. 6 more times after that.
Wow!

Absolutely superb concert by the greatest band in the world. Well they would be because it was BRIAN'S band. He was the rolling stone
I'm glad Brian's guitar sounds so good.
Loved the Brian Jones era, then again Mick & Ronnie put out some great music also.
Mick Taylor era is probably best.
@@larryn2682It’s really not one or the other. The Stones’ golden age really starts at the end of the Brian era (1968) and ends (1973) before the end of the Taylor era. I'd argue the creative golden age started as early as 1966, and they reached their pinnacle as a live act in the Taylor era, especially on their 1973 European Tour.

Brian Jones guitar and Charlie Watts drumming are loud in this video... and I love it! The early years were a special time in the history of the Stones.
I’m actually amazed that anybody can hear the drums at all because there are only two microphones positioned in the front above the symbols and that’s it. And none of the guitar amplifiers are miked. No monitors either. Really a strange set up
@@splinterlife1969 that's as good as it got in those days. and why the beatles quit touring - they just couldn't hear their vocals or guitars over the screaming because PAs were so primitive
@@mj.l There were actually monitors available - not that you said there weren't, LOL.
On Top Of The Pops, they are clearly there to be seen in a Beatles show in '64. There were decent monitors as a regular feature of USA shows for San Francisco acts, as early as 1966.
Like so many things with the (earlier) Beatles, they seemed to get the worst set-ups despite being so deserving of the best.
Only good up to 1972

This is very good, it was very difficult to achieve good live recordings in 1965, somehow this came out remarkably good. This could be the best concert that they ever did, the colouring is very realistic, great job.
They were fantastic live. So was the Beatles. I just listened to "The Beatles live at the Hollywood Bowl" and it was equally fantastic. Neither the Stones of the Beatles could hear themselves while playing live, but they were still able to deliver kick ass performances. I saw the Stones live back in 2006, and they were amazing. I saw Paul McCartney and Elton John live too, and they were great live acts as well. Paul is doing 3 hour long shows where he is running through almost 40 songs.. The Stones and Elton did 2 hours.
Someone may have gone to the effort to sync individual audio and video recordings, requiring constant timing tweaks.
they did remarkably well with such a terrible PA too. wish i could hear keith's guitar more clearly in 'satisfaction' (the fuzz just disappeared in the mix) but it's an amazing document of them live at this time
not strange, as in the 60s our whole modern society was invented. so also audio recording. they did more in those 10 years then we did in the 10.000 before. real mind blower.
The audio is terrible.
Literally just saw them play Satisfaction and it’s 2024 and the crowd is still going crazy
I was freaking 12 years old when this happened. I've been catching up ever since.
