For me it was the best car in my life , not because of the memories but because of the reason that my father actually drove this above 140 on highways most of the time and then when i grew up with time , i didnt actually see that VTEC POWER KICKED In YO in any other models of HONDA .....this car is truly a GEM ❤️

The 1.5L vtec was the major highlight of the first gen City due to its vtec soul and high redline. However, as the time flies, Honda tweaked the motor for more fuel efficiency and in 5th gen, they changed the engine to Earthdreams i-vtec with DOHC Engine head.
@@bibsom I would have to disagree with you. My 2009 3rd gen city still pulls ahead of many modern cars, and absolutely smokes others of its age. Could be down to the driver, but I agree with the more modern the vehicles these days, crapier they are.

In a good highway with two people and optimum luggage it can cruise all day at 120-140 . power is there at the tip of your toe. I am going to keep it forever.. Nothing can beat the 3rd gen city... Last year we got a used one which was in mint condition and it's been an amazing experience till now! The refinement is still so good and it has barely any ride noise... Anyday a Honda City over its rivals for me
We have this car for 11 years now and trust me when I drive this car it gives me so much pleasure! The engine is so refined and silent. The car is over a decade old but the iVTEC engine still feels like new!! The ride quality is pretty smooth and it's so much fun to drive!!! ❤️✨
This was a wonderful car , we had many trips with it , comfort was amazing ! As you said the gear shifts are amazing with the light clutch plate and it has its downside at 1lakh KM we had changed clutch plate 2 times , and because of the low ground clearance we scraped every bumps , had to change the underbody plastics many times since it just breaks and flies off in highways , and we had another issue quite rare the rear suspensions were gone , dead ! changed that too ... Other than general services this costed is 5L+ alone for spares , we had to sell this at 1.2L km......
I have a 3rd gen 2013 face lift with wider tyres ! it is a Beast ! almost a decade and the engine is still smooth ! When it comes to looks ..no competition for this Sleek arrowShot design.

I still have this honda with abs and ebd . I have driven it 180 constant for few mins . No problem at all .its a gem of a car . Outstanding engine. I just dont think recent honda city has that character in the engine. This car can never get old . This can still give you adrenaline rush everytime you push it to limits . Down side is this city has an average mileage. Mine gives 9 or 8 with ac. Not gonma sell it even if i get a BMW or Merc. Lovely video. Thanks faisal for remembering this legend. 👍
8 years with my white City and ZERO issues till date, just basic service. It's really a fill it-shut it-forget it car. 8 years on and the iVtec engine is still super smooth, refined and the gearbox is precise. The driving dynamics are excellent and don't get me started on those gorgeous looks!
The enthusiasm of a i-vtec engine is just something else... The exhaust on this particular car was also really nice. Gonna miss such great car's when things go EV..
This was fast car in our family we have brought 2009 model but because of the ground clearance issue and issues with clutch plate wear we trade it out which I didn't liked that and my dad bought New ecosport( psuedo SUV) 🤷♂️
Mine is 2012 type2 with chrome.. I'm addicted to that i vtech magic in third gear when it kicks in and take me all the way to 150+ kmph leaving all others cars behind. In city, this is smooth silent sailor while on highway it is altogether different animal.. 😍🤭

Feel sorry for the car! The car has been abused badly in the video. I own the 4th generation CVT top model 2017 and it's truly a charm. Super smooth at manageable speeds (max at 145 km), grabs eyeballs with its sexy looks. Do not understand why some comments mention that 4th gen is a downgrade. It probably is the best in the City family including the 5th generation. Nothing against 3rd generation, please. Just my opinion.
It will be a great project car to work on! I'm fed up of seeing enthusiasts modifying only germans and giving them all the credits. Damn they need to work on some good vtec engine and understand how it is good and will outperform everyone when vtec kicks in.

My dad had 3 rd generation honda city top model petrol MT it had the all cool features and the engine was super smooth few months back we had to see it cuz the roads of gurgoan u know do driving a sedan is bit tuff in ggn now we have jeep compass model. S
the only drawback is the rear suspension. Inspite of upgrading the suspension and wheels the back end has the potential to slip out at high speeds due to it being a solid axle setup.

I VTEC is still there with dohc, double overhead cam is very useful in higher rev range so its a good decision actually.

Bro install cushion buffers in all 4 springs, I've done it in my city and the problem of underbelly scraping has been drastically reduced.

my model has 175 section tyre with alloys, have great rear space, kept in very good condition, and has abs too, vtec is my favourite
