    Shame it doesn't have magnetic heading. Otherwise it would be a perfect backup in the UK. But without magnetic heading, we would have to use something else in addition to this for backup heading. This is going to mean that Garmin G5 or uAvionix A30 will be more suitable as they provide all necessary backup functions to the the main EFIS (for me going to be Dynon Skyview HDX)

    I know much was made about how it doesn't integrate with the other dynon parts, but does it at least have a sync for altimeter setting or do you have to change them both when making updates?

    Nice. Dynon should get certified nav functionality in the main display, it makes no sense to have to shell out 16k for a little crappy germin 'navigation' when that's trivial functionality that should be in the main display. So an update HDX would really show the community. Then they should also make a product with a much bigger display. 10 inches is just not a big screen for important information, particularly synthetic vision and maps can benefit from size so it really is stagnant legacy thinking to stay in small screens. And I don't mean 11 or 12 inches, I mean 20 or bigger.
    In zero visibility you are flying by synthetic vision, right. Same as you were flying a flight sim, that's also synthetic vision on a screen. Now imagine saying come on over guys and see my awesome 10 inch computer monitor. If you were poor in 1975, maybe. Not today. All the legacy clutter in the GUI has to go as well. The synthetic vision is basically useless. Again, imagine if MS flight sim looked like that. It's unquestioning legacy 'thinking'. Dynon has an opportunity to really hurt garmin and they should.

    No heading??? How is it an independent back up without a heading indicator?

      Backup usually refers to a required attitude indicator. Back in the day the required back up for the vacuum ai was the electric turn coordinator. The airspeed vsi etc would be a bonus. Jets that had two electric attitude indicators used to have a 3rd “peanut gyro” attitude indicator with a self contained battery
      That said, a GPS ForeFlight etc would give track which would definitely be better than a mag compass and a minute hand.

    With the success of the g5 and av30… this seems like a missed opportunity for dynon to bring a competitor the market
