You are a positive force in RUclips. Because of you, my table tennis understanding has been improving greatly. You can explain things very precisely and clearly. And the topics you chose to explain are usually very fundamental and important in a table tennis player's learning. Thank you!

For all the people criticizing him for "endorsing" those extreme teaching techniques, I understand your concern but honestly, by no means he's endorsing such behavior, he is just making a comparison between two philosophies, two methods, it is just for demonstration purposes. Actually he states right before that part: "if you live in an Asian country you could see the difference in the culture. For example this short clip will never be seen in Western countries".
I appreciate someone to show me the differences in coaching approaches, it gives you an idea of what happens somewhere else, it opens your eyes and gives you a wider vision. I don't see anything wrong with that. Good job EmRatThich Table Tennis Coach.

Hi EmRatThich, I just want to say "Thank you so much" for sharing the material. You are probably the first table tennis channel I've encountered that shares content that resonate to what I've briefly learned from a Chinese coach. Now I can extend my learning from you on RUclips. My table tennis has slowly improved since watching your videos! Keep up the good work!

EmRatThich can you make a video about mentality or phycology during a match, before and after. There are few sources about the mentality on the table, and on the game, at the end players are fighting against themselves inside of their minds when they are about to win or they have a big differences between points, how to overcome or became mentally strong when playing and if it's necessary to previously study the opponent like in your video with the kid or to understand the opponent during the match, thx.

Thank you for your dedication. It helps me a lot in many terms such as knowing more in table tennis and you are a very good example who devotes something to the global. Your language is simple and understandable. Your pattern is easy to follow. Please keep doing this good thing. It means a lot to the ones who need either they have money or not. At least they have more opportunity to learn about table tennis and of course the ones that have some difficulties in life will have good chance to develop themselves.
Thank you again with gratitude and impressiveness.

Thanks for the video. I was hard on EmRatTich at first asking for video demonstrating these techniques. Unfortunately with the internet, you have to be a little skeptical as there are a lot of people who just might not know what they are talking about. I think I have heard enough to believe that you do coach & play to some extent. So I appreciate your videos and particularly like the translation stuff as there are things I can watch online and I just have try to learn by seeing. Sometimes knowing what something or someone is saying is really, really nice. Thank you.

I don't know why you have to be hard on someone. You are not a god who needs to be pleased with all videos on RUclips.. If you don't believe or don't like a video, always remember, you may not be a god, but you are a human, you can just click the mouse and move on to another video that may please you.. hmm.. 😉

I highly appreciate the explanation given in this video and I totaly agree with your thoughts on the diffrent subjects wether it is keeping your privacy or trying to share your knowledge with the most people possible instead of giving private lessons.
Just before you started making videos I started to change my forhand loop technique to chinese technique and you helped a lot in the progress. I am suddenly at a point I do understand it and I am able to perform it consistently know. I am acctualy still blown away by how much control, feel and power(spin and speed) I gained.
    THANK YOU
As i wrote the text above i didn' watch the video to the end. Luckily i did now and became a patron. It is a pleasure for me that I am able to give something back to you althoug it is "only" money.

EmRatThich, you're my favourite TT youtube channel coach! So knowledgeble, but so humble at the same time.
It's absurd to accuse you of putting down other coaches, since you're not making money out of it, so not in competition with them.
They should learn some humility and try to apply your comments.. They might actually improve thanks to you.
If I had a channel and got mentioned in your videos, even as a negative example, I'd be honoured.
I hope their saltiness won't restrict you making your videos too much.
    Best Wishes!

First of all i want to say that the english is not my mother language (spanish) so I hope that you understand what I want to share to you. So, lets start, I am an amateur player which has been playing for 4 years. This sport trick me since I started to play, and i have improved a lot, but I have a problem, my forehand. I have seen your videos thousands and thousands of times but i dont know why my forehand sounds like a hit and it doesnt sound like i brush the ball. I just feel that I brush the ball with my backhand. Watching your videos I learned that I need to use the power of the ground but when I try it out my coach said that I need to accelerate more my forearm which makes me get confuse. Personally i am a bit frustated about this My coach has been very good player and when he makes a forehand topspin is litrally impossible to block everyone is amazed about his topsin. Here I let you a game of a real match, I hope you give a me a tip to get a better spin, I tought it could be the point of contact but I dont know, hereyou have the clip I am the younger one : ruclips.net/video/fIBUXHfbEAk/видео.html&t= Pd:Thanks a lot for the help beforehand

EmRatThich Table Tennis Coach very nice video, you give the good evidence in anatomy, technique and science. I interested in "power from the ground", it's means if you have good footwork, so you have more powerfull stroke. how to trains good footwork? may be in physical training or in application. Sorry I can't speak English fluently. Thank you.

I live in México, and its very hard to find a friend to play/train with, because of jobs and poor skill and knowledge. There are no clubs here, only the guvernamental organization that runs the state selection, and they only allow children under 10 years or near. Even when the young champions reach 18, this organization dont support them more and almots literally kick them out. I really love this hobby and it makes me depressed.

I saw the curriculum of table tennis university there is a lesson smash vs. backspin and loop vs. backspin, so what is the difference because I wander how to do it since I study your video about spin. And I always remember the motto you said that IN SPIN WE TRUST. Hope to be enlighten by you. God bless!

Not only does beating a child create anger and hostility towards the coach it is a negative reinforcement discounted by all psychology studies since Skinner (1938).. That child may hate the sport in future and as a parent will want their child to do an entirely different sport.Love of a sport is why an individual wants to continue to practice when things and times get tough.

As soon as I saw the caning/dated child abuse I new the comments would be interesting. I'm sure you don't think caning is the best way to improve a boy's discipline just that it shows how seriously table tennis is taken in Chinese culture.
Obviously there are some westerners who do dedicate their lives to table tennis too but a much smaller proportion and some those I have known actually have parents from China/Hong Kong anyway. Even the new Japanese wonder kid has a Chinese Dad.
Having said this, I wouldn't want my son/dougher (imaginary) to dedicate their lives to tt.. No way.. Much better to have a balance and earn good money as an engineer or something whilst playing tt to a high standard and enjoying the game. How many kids dedicate their lives to a sport, fail, and waste other opportunities. This is being improved in general in sports academies for football and Olympic sports in Europe which I think is good.

    • @jamesatkins7592
      @jamesatkins7592 7 лет назад

btw thank you for sharing your experience of the best tt techniques with the world! Whilst I have come across a fare amount of it before there are lots of new really useful things. My backhand is my best shot and it's the same as your coaching video for backhand dominant. So I mean I trust your advice because it matches well. My forehand is very poor though and much of what you say gives much more detail or contradicts some of my previous coaching so hopefully I can improve if I find someone good to train with! Thank you :)

didn't you know? That's how cruel the trainers are when you don't listen to them in Asia. That goes basically for any sport or study. Sadly, they get beaten up for not trying hard enough

+elwachinmanda He later on states that chinese coaching has bad and good things and that it is up to you to sort out the bad things!
I would agree with you in the term that hitting a kid is a bad thing(although the term child abuse is not right) but actually punishment has to be done in some form. Punishment is a part of education!!!
