I must say that this performance is simply a works of arts. The aftertaste is just so strong that I watched it over and over again for 3 days straight since Saturday night. And we all miss and obsessed with LiuYu in hanfu and his Guofeng style, weren't we?
I’ve watched this stage over and over again, but every time I’m immersed in their stories and emotions. Both of them did a great job. LiuYu, I’m pround of you 💙💙
I love the visual storytelling here, with Liu Yu and Liulian being two sides of "me"... The lyrics and the expressions and movements go together perfectly, and keep each other in balance 💙
Whenever Liuyu performs he becomes one with the music, in both rhythm and emotion. He can express calm gracefulness and also powerful complex emotions as well. Particularly his Guofeng performances give me strong personal imagery because of the emotions transmitted from him. In his the 國風美少年 performance of red《赤》, I saw someone drunk with power and ambition. With blue《赤》,a blue flame. In 《大道無形》, I saw a bird's last flight. It occasionally makes me teary eyed when I watch it. In this performance 《无错》, I see internal struggle and conflict. The choice to to affected by the anguish and fight an endless battle or to let go and comfort one self. Choose oneself and heal. Hurt followed by anger. Anger followed by sadness. Sadness followed by comfort. Adurian, her songs play in our minds when we don't expect it. As if it is our own self-reflection. It is her song-writing ability that leaves particular strong emotions embedded in unique melodies. Of her songs I've listened to so far, no two sound the same and the emotions the make me feel also have range. While she has many sad songs, there are different types and intensities of sadness. 《烛》 is sorrowful and hits my heart. How quickly it makes certain emotions surface is amazing. 《无错》 feels liberating. Breaking free from a toxic cycle. Choosing oneself. These two are able to completely weave emotions and music. Very talented, mature, and versatile despite their young age. I look forward to their growth and future works.
