  • THE JEALOUSY OF GOD- PART 2
Sunday 23rd June 2024- First Service
In our walk with God, we need to develop a God-consciousness because it is what preserves and helps us to maintain a manner of living that attracts heaven and prevents us from doing certain things.
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him
We are God's bride, that is why nothing in our lives should neither compete with Him nor become His substitute. He must be the only love of our lives.
James 4:4-5 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. [5] Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
We commit adultery each time we give the Holy Spirit's place to people, worldly things or pleasures, which makes Him feel jealous. This does not only mean sexual sin.
The Holy Spirit loves us so much that He wants to protect us, which calls for us to obey His instructions because He knows more than we do.
1 Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
We are the temple of the Holy Spirit: we host God inside us. We must arrive in that place in our hearts; where we move from mere doctrine to an experiential dimension. When we do, God will prove Himself to us as a husband.
We belong to God, our bodies are no longer ours but God's which He uses as an entry into the world to reach the people. Everything we have doesn't belong to us but to Him; this is why we must consult Him in everything including our money.
    John 15:1-4
God desires our fellowship with Him more than offerings otherwise we behave like adulterers. That is why our moments of fellowship with Him are very important.
The more we walk with God in deep fellowship, He deals with us because He knows we have too much capacity to bring forth more fruit. Therefore, the key to fruitfulness is fellowship- abide in Jesus.
Jesus loves us so much that He wants to spend time with us in deep fellowship. When we do, many things we struggle with in life will disappear because God will deal with them while in deep fellowship with Him.
