Some guys - especially younger ones - require patience, time and development. The Warriors thought they could compete and develop concurrently. They did not.

Would I count on them to effectively stop good offenses consistently? No, especially for rim protection. But they are much better perimeter defenders than past years with Fox, Ellis, Mitchell, and Murray playing solid to excellent defense this year.
Kings actually have 5th best defensive record since the all-star break but that point in mute because this is more about the Warriors uncertain future than a play-in loss to the Kings.
