A dynamic microphone works the exact same way as a speaker just in reverse, so if you were to plug headphones into an input on an audio interface, they would work just fine as an okay microphone.

I feel like if depends heavily on the size of the speaker. A larger speaker wouldn’t be affected by sound waves as much as a smaller one would as the bigger one has more weight so it’s harder to move with air. It’s like the opposite of what happens with a speaker, the smaller the speaker the less sound it produces because it can’t create the same amount of vibrations in the air because it’s lighter so the air isn’t as heavily affected.

10:00 They can take control of your car because it has an ECU. Unless you have a car made before the 1960s, then you will have an ECU.
The ECU is a closed circuit... You cant just "hack" it. Nor does the ECU have the ability to change your driving direction. All it does is monitor fuel efficiency, ignition timings, some other engine related things and parts of the car like sensors and what not. Plus, most cars have mechanical steering so it can't even be electronically operated. Only cars with steer by wire or self driving capabilities could have vulnerabilities against hacks. (I think) Although I cant say for certain as im not an expert.

Microphones and speakers are the same mechanism, just a thingymajig resonating through a coil at a certain frequency. A speaker does work as a microphone because the mechanism can receive when it is reversed, but the volume is at a moderate to low level, so the audio will sound either scratchy or quiet, or both. Same goes for a microphone, but keep in mind THEY ARE DESIGNED FOR THEIR OWN PURPOSE, you pose the risk of breaking the microphone if you turn the volume up too high. Have fun and stay safe!

Both a speaker and a microphone is an eardrum, just that the speaker is made to vibrate that eardrum and the microphone picks up vibrations. If you have an audio interface, try plugging your headset into a jack input
No you can't, they are very similar you just have to reverse one of them to make the other but to do that you need to have it be able to process the information in that way which isn't built into it, so you would have to add it. There are speakers with built in microphones but those are two separate devices working together

most dynamic mics and speakers are basically the same tech in reverse. Sound moving a diaphragm makes voltage in a mic, and voltage moving a diaphragm makes sound in a speaker. So if you reverse it, a speaker can technically act as a mic just not super loud or clear.
but reversing this remotely without touching the hardware is so difficult that even for the CIA this would be very unlikely. The tv would need to send its output to an ADC. In theory this is possible but even if they somehow found a compatible TV, speakers are terrible mic and wont pic up much, let alone from an elevated surface most tv stand on. The CIA doesn't use magic; they still have to abide the laws of physics; this isn't something that become easy to do with "technology".
