Used to jam to this song when my husband and I were young and newly married. Now after more than a decade we have had 2 kids 2 separations and many ups and downs. This song brings tears to my eyes now. Even through our darkest hardest times where we worried we would not make it we were mostly scared to lose our best friend. I remember thinking, if we get divorced could we still text each other funny memes and watch the shows we love together? B/c I would miss that part too much. And thats what this song makes me think of. Trying to make a marriage work and raising kids is hard as hell. We forget why we first started it all sometimes. I used to watch this all the time with my boyfriend, now we're breaking up and the video is making me cry. Excellent video for showing the ups and downs of a relationship and everything in between.
Hang in there everyone. There is one of the the two who will give more than the other and the relationship will endure. Even if you feel you are living the worst of it.it will get better. It will take time. Expect a year or more. The most important is to sincerely accept your flaws. The ego brings out the worst of you. As long as you come back and say sincerely sorry and think what you can do better it will be better. Married 20 years with two toddlers. This song speak a million scenarios. Love it!
7 years ago I wouldn't understand the real meaning of this video, I thought it was just an artistic music video. But now, I feel like this video captures what a long term relationship would look like irl, it's not always red roses and sometimes you get carried away, but if you want to stick with that person, eventually you'd stay and moving forward anyway :)
I've been in a relationship for over 8 years now and this is not what a healthy long term relationship looks like. You can have disagreements but if you start saying stuff like "you make me sick" or start throwing things, flirt with other people that is not what a healthy relationship looks like, you need to seriously talk about stuff and if you don't it ends up like in the video where everything is bottled up and just explodes in your face.
I like this music video a lot. It actually has a good story, which is much more than most other groups can say (their music videos have no meaning whatsoever).
Every now and then I come back to this song and this music video at different points in my life just to be reminded whether I’m in a good or bad or flat-lining place that something this beautiful and true exists. It makes my day better. Drives me into inspiration. This is a classic. Hope you get to read this.
I usually just have videos playing in the background while I do stuff and listen to the music but I got so lost in this one. When it finished I needed a moment of silence.
It's a brilliant portrayal of a collapsing relationship, but it also nails how 'I'm sorry' can be two of the cruelest words in the english language when spoken insincerely. When you're apologising for the same thing for the fifth time, or the tenth time, or the twentieth time, you probably don't care enough to actually fix what's wrong. And the other person knows it. How many relationships end with the words 'I'm sorry'?
I haven't listened to this in a long long time. I feel strange watching this. The was a time when people stayed together more than a night and didn't run to dating apps at any inconvenience...
This takes me back to 2013 when I got away from 20 years of toxic abuse, and rode a shopping cart through Walmart while shopping to this song. Beautiful moment. I've been looking for this song for years

Best song ever from Horizon! I downloaded this track to my iPod and used to listen while walking to school. Then, after school, I'd come home, fire up my Xbox, play Forza Horizon, and listen to the same song again... Times were so much simpler back then. Even though financially I'm in a better position now, I still miss those simpler days..
If you're married, that relationship and staying will make way more sense to you than if it's just a girlfriend/boyfriend thing. A tiny thing like saying "you make me sick" wouldn't break a strong marriage. I am amazed at the tiny things I used to break up with guys about.
I love you God so much...and it took me a mental breakdown, rehab, therapy, breakups, loneliness, addictions, to let me know that you also do the same ;)
Not at all. The video, unlike most music videos, actually accompanies the music and accentuates the meaning a fair bit. I'd say you're missing out if you don't watch the video at least once.

And we've all got something to say
I get carried away
Carried away from you
When I'm open and afraid
'Cause I'm sorry, sorry about that
Sorry about the things that I said
Always let it get to my head
I get carried away
Carried away from you
When I'm open and afraid
'Cause I'm sorry, sorry about that
Sorry about the things that I've said
Always let it get to my head
Thanks
I used to think they said only European once again with feeling
@@kotieboatz6042 Hah I always heard that too
I used to watch this all the time with my boyfriend, now we're breaking up and the video is making me cry.
Love it!
Thank you for this advice. :)
sorry to ask but are y’all still together
this song makes me happy
7 years ago I wouldn't understand the real meaning of this video, I thought it was just an artistic music video. But now, I feel like this video captures what a long term relationship would look like irl, it's not always red roses and sometimes you get carried away, but if you want to stick with that person, eventually you'd stay and moving forward anyway :)
No
@@ol7183 care to elaborate?
@@roboninjasaur6729 Its definitely not the type of relationship you'd want to stay in.
@@CandaEH and you’re some kind of expert?
Im loving the hose rain effect going on
botth of them look so good together...they should have been together in the band...just like oh wonder
YESS I WAS THINKING THAT
@Danielle Anderson This is 2 years late but I HAVE to clarify that the guy is actually bisexual.
sophia's not a singer
@@allyholmes7555 Which means they can still be together in the band now
@@mr.worldwide4758 I mean, she was never part of the music group so no
THIS. I'm in love with this.
Can't get over it even after a decade ❤
May 2024
I like this music video a lot. It actually has a good story, which is much more than most other groups can say (their music videos have no meaning whatsoever).
Still one of the coolest music video ever
I’ve been looking for this song for around 5 years. Didn’t discover it until my friend started humming it today. So glad I found it, I love this song.
this is basically every rom-com ever with the single best soundtrack you could hope for
Add this song to the list of “songs that sound like you’ve heard them before but you totally haven’t”
definitely a popular musical style of the time, I do still enjoy it though
It's that sweet, sweet late 2000s/early 2010s indie pop sound. All of us know and love it.
It was used in some target ads and stuff you probably heard it and just dont know you have
@@TherealSpacer-yi4ir literally got a target ad just now 😭😭
this is such a good music video i love the couple in it and it makes me think about how important words can be
Just discovered this band. I have to say, I'm now addicted
That hook is an earworm on another scale
I can never get tired of seeing this
this is what actual love is like.
when you're in deep, and bad things keep happening, it's the good things that make everything worth it.
the storyboard for this video must have been impeccable 👍
Such a feel-good classic! Love this song so much.
This song feels like something that plays at the turning point of a great movie!!
Every now and then I come back to this song and this music video at different points in my life just to be reminded whether I’m in a good or bad or flat-lining place that something this beautiful and true exists. It makes my day better. Drives me into inspiration. This is a classic.
Hope you get to read this.
same here... and every time i get a little more out of it
Fast paced cinematography perfectly captures being carried away
it is wild how good this song is
By far my favorite video ever
My favourite music video ever
There should be a movie based on this music video :D
+Lucky Luke Haha
+Jdevy I'm sure Deadpool will come up with that... (Not sure for the love story though)
+Jdevy This is like the storyline of any Chick Flick...
500 days of summer yup
+Miles Nelson me to i like a good cry and mind fuck
0:52 fav part
(of song not video hehe)
This song brings back old and sad memories of my ex. Breaks my heart everytime I listen to it. But, still love Passion Pit.
Same
i've always loved this song and didn't watch the video until now but tHIS IS THE CUTEST THING EVER.
2013 was by far the weirdest year of my life
beats donnie trump becoming president-elect?
Yep
How DARE you.
You heartless monster
dana Brawn All part of being a b-ba-ba-Badass
a 4 minute music video has more plot than movies these days
Lmao
Sophia Bush is just perfect for this type of character!!!! Love all her movie characters.
I haven't listened to this in a long long time. I feel strange watching this. The was a time when people stayed together more than a night and didn't run to dating apps at any inconvenience...
Han pasado años y sigo amando esta canción
this will always be one of the most pure and beautiful music videos. #childhood
This takes me back to 2013 when I got away from 20 years of toxic abuse, and rode a shopping cart through Walmart while shopping to this song. Beautiful moment. I've been looking for this song for years
I love his eyes so much
Coming back here after 6/7 years. Still does it’s work.
honestly one of the best music videos ever
I have never loved a video as i love this one
was hiking out in Arkansas and i was playing this song and people that were passing me by started to dance. that's what fun songs do. :)
This should have gotten more noticed!
@@sofiabravo1994 funny how things work out even though I feel this is their best single release it only reach 19 on the charts which I guess top 20 is nothing to sneeze at. Great tune though.
2 years ago when I started dating my ex I told him this is our song and partially video(the good part). Then we started fighting and broke up recently. Now this video was unfortunately us indeed. This just makes me cry right here in the comment section.
Saw it for the first time and instantly googled the movie title…it turns out it's not a movie, just a music video...
:(
I want to dislike the fact this is not a movie, but not your comment
iluzjonistka what's the name of the movie?
Fuck sake Dairis
iluzjonistka dumb bitch
i LOVE this
Best song ever from Horizon! I downloaded this track to my iPod and used to listen while walking to school. Then, after school, I'd come home, fire up my Xbox, play Forza Horizon, and listen to the same song again... Times were so much simpler back then. Even though financially I'm in a better position now, I still miss those simpler days..
Checking it after 7 years. Still I love the video of this song
amo esa cancion y la de take a walk
If you're married, that relationship and staying will make way more sense to you than if it's just a girlfriend/boyfriend thing. A tiny thing like saying "you make me sick" wouldn't break a strong marriage. I am amazed at the tiny things I used to break up with guys about.
I love you God so much...and it took me a mental breakdown, rehab, therapy, breakups, loneliness, addictions, to let me know that you also do the same ;)
Heard this song way too many times at work. Pretty solid.
Literally my life. We all go thorugh things, but in the end with understanding everything is ok 💚
This is my first comment in the 15 years I’ve been on RUclips, but it has to be said. This is one of the best songs ever made
Best Valentine's Day song
BEST music video!! :D
HOW DID THIS SONG NOT GET BIG?!
Is it bad that I'm more entertained by the video?
no its not bad its the same for me
props to the music video producer!
it's your personal opinion frankly, nobody can persecute you for it.
Yes it is bad and you should feel bad
Not at all. The video, unlike most music videos, actually accompanies the music and accentuates the meaning a fair bit. I'd say you're missing out if you don't watch the video at least once.
I think is my favorite Passion Pit song, such a groovy jingle and really hits home to the often times negative progression of two lovers. I hope wellness to those listening right now.
And good fun bits too of course, especially if you're watching the music video- which may i add is so well done!
This is one of those songs that you love and rarely hear, but don't know the name of.
It's been years since I first listened to this song but I still love it. Cute, funny, sad, and romantic. The reality of any relationship.
I just love it. This video completely had something new every , Idk, 20 seconds? Unexpected things that made me love the story more and more till the end
Adriana Angelica It's absolutely incredible!! I can't stop singing this song!! My neighbors like this song so much they threw a brick at my window so they can hear it better!!! :D
Great song makes me appreciate the music industry
Been listening to a lot of songs lately. I miss my ex so much and this just reminded me of how our relationship was. Weird how you understand music more once you've dealt with what they are singing
nunca veo los videos mientras escucho la cancion pero, no me canso de ver el video de ésta :B
I was 17 when this song came out. Good times good times.
This band is just soothing.
