@@Luna-cb9di I'm a teacher at a school that puts a ton of effort into personalizing and allowing students to learn independently in their own ways. But there are a lot of obstacles that educational systems put in place that stops us from doing what's best for students...
All my teachers--except one--did an excellent job of encouraging and strengthening my creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. That is what school should do. But here's a question: *why don't more people have teachers like that*?
You know what I love about SciShow/CrashCourse, but also just RUclips and the internet in general? I always thought that Geography was the one subject that I'd never get into, but THIS made me excited about it. It made me understand why people want to study geography. I love listening to people who are excited about their fields
Well they tried to teach cultural geography a couple of years ago and that didn't really work and got really criticised. so introducing the hosts credentials i think is a way to stave of criticism.
AWESOME!!! My younger brother is starting his undergraduate studies at the University next year in geography. I'm recommending this series to him. I'm sure I'll enjoy it as well. Thank you Crash Course.
YYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS, I have been asking for a Crash Course Geography for SO LONG, I am so happy that it is finally happening and you guys got a great host for this series, well done. Now all I need is Crash Course Asian History to be announced and my Chrismas wish list will be complete😆😆😆
Geographer here OMG how good of an explanation and introduction of our world this video is!! Most people don't know what we do or even that geographers exist. But we do, and I'm glad and excited on a multiscalar level with this crashcourse. Keep Rockin CrashCourse!! and Keep ROCKing Geographers!
I'M SO HAPPY!!!!!! I'm a Geography student in Sao Paulo (Brazil) and this week I started to watch the Ecology course. I was missing a lot a course about geography!!!!!!
Way to go releasing this during Geography Awareness Week! Perfect timing! Tomorrow (11/18/2020) is GIS Day, and I hope y'all will be covering GIS at some point. Looking forward to what y'all do with the series!
It took 4 years! I am so overwhelmed by the show of commitment by .....Sir John Green..... It realy shows there are still good teachers who actually care about making the course factualy accurate and keep it light & entertaining at the same time. Thats Hard Work! You deserve respect especially from students who cannot afford thousands of dollars to be in a ridiculously expensive universities. Its time these Universities take note, for they have been ripping peoples pockets leaving them bankrupt.
Love geography and can't wait for this series. Am anticipating it to likely be my favourite crash course ever, wondering how deeply you intend to dive into the field of geopolitics :) Best of luck, from Canada.
Well, it is mentioned here in the past tense (in the context of its spread across Africa), though maybe that would more properly be called Proto-Bantu?
After working in GIS for a while, I'm just really excited what kinda data we're already able to pull from geographical studies and what more can be learned from it in the future!
YES!!! I teach US History and Eastern Geography. I show Crash Course US history videos in class all the time but I've always hated not having anything as good for my geography students. I'm so excited for this!!!
I am so excited! Human Geography was ny favorite class in high school, and now I use GIS regularly. I cannot wait to review and remember and learn new things! Aaaaaah!
YES! I've been studying Geography for 3 years now, it's time Geography got its deserved recognition! This year has been tough so this comes as pleasant surprise :,)
These series always come right when I want to learn these topics. I remember learning US history when their series first came out. Really looking forward to this one!
love it! i hope that when we talk about the aral sea we also talk about tulare lake and the salton sea and i would love if we talked about the effects that 'modernization' technology has had on indigenous communities like the flooding of towns to build dams in the dakotas and colombia
I didn't even realize until recently how uneducated I was with geography! I was playing Trivia and when the topic of *Geography* came up, I drew a blank! Thank you so much for you and everyone that worked on this series for providing us with such knowledge! I look forward to learning 🔆
Oh my god, I am so happy! I have been waiting for geography on the crash course for so long! I adore geography, I study it in the university and now I can watch it on RUclips
Ohhh, I can't wait! I loved to learn geography in high school, especially the physical geography, from the forming of volcanos to hammering down the costal line of both Americas. I can't wait what Crash Course can teach me
As a huge fan of Crash Course's content I am super excited for this new channel about geography!!! Having said that, it would be amazing to see a new Crash Course history channel solely about US Presidents, with each episode being about a single one. I'm talking to you, John Green =)! Keep up the amazing content CC!!
I would absolutely love if Crash Course did a series about Mathematics history (The evolution, several great mathematicians, the beauty of it, the imperfections, the millennium Prize problems, the biggest discoveries in maths, etc)(pure mathematics, applied mathematics, discrete mathematics and computational mathematics) (the main branches of maths) (why is it relevant?)... Maybe another branch of mathematics could spark an idea for a new series (Geometry and Trigonometry or Calculus)... Ooh and I also wanted to learn general music theory or music history ( how to read music, the basic elements of it such as harmony, melody and rythm. Tempo, notes, chords, key signatures, intervals, scales, octaves, pitch, tone, timbre, texture, dynamics, symphonies, sonatas, etc. The types of instruments. What are even C instruments?... Famous classical musicians...
crash course literally gives me the happiness of learning I'm lacking in school
American public education is designed to make people hate learning so we'll stay stupid enough to control.
you’ll eventually realize that schools aren’t conducive to learning, unfortunately (current college student)

Crash course world history and crash course geography are the best parts of this channel
Please note that "Bantu" is not - or rather is no longer - a single language as implied in this video; it's a family of hundreds of modern languages.
Well, it is mentioned here in the past tense (in the context of its spread across Africa), though maybe that would more properly be called Proto-Bantu?
OMG YES also im tired of people asking if Vietnam is in Asia or people asking if Vietnam is in South America
Wait Vietnam is in Antarctica everyone knows the Vietnamese penguin.
