Thanks for sharing your thoughts about your M3 ownership and experience. I totally understand about not allowing anyone driving your car, as I let my sister drive my 3-week old X4M this past Thanksgiving and she totaled it! Now it may require me bringing her to court for wreckless driving.
Ah man I’m sorry that happened to you! It’s hard right, you wanna share the things you love, but if things so south, it’s hard to accept it. Hope you can get an even better car man.
Yes to the wheels! Theyre a nightmare to keep clean. The amount of brake dust that they get covered in is mad. The wheels are stunning when clean its just an overly regular job to keep them that way. I also agree with you re the speed too. This thing is in its element past 70mph and meanwhile you're only in 2nd or 3rd gear at this point and watching the world go blurry as the speed builds. Ive a new found respect for usable power and cars that have 200-250bhp as they're more usable. Having said that......I love my G80 Comp and wouldnt swap it for the world! :P
As a Si owner upgrading to a 2023 G80, I appreciated this video. Definitely going to miss the feeling of going through all the gears without crazy speeds
Oh that’s quick. It took like 2 ish months between production finish, shipping to the US, and clearing all of the stop sales. Hope you get to enjoy yours on time, it can be a rough wait.
@@izzyr__ Process is definitely a few months faster than ordering through the states. I just finalized the order beginning of this month and not having to wait on the car to ship and clear customs saves a few weeks
I literally let my 18 year old son drive my M3. It’s a car. He’s not going to hit a turn at 100 MPH. I get that it’s a semi special car, but it’s not like a some lambo or hyper car. He drove my 1000hp charger hellcat with no problems. As far as cleaning the wheels. Sonax Wheel cleaner plus, spray and pressure hose it off. Whatever you spray on. IT WILL COME OFF. However it’s not cheap. It’s a 120 dollars for a gallon but man does it save a lot of time.
Your son is very lucky! I think for me I’m I’d feel horrible if someone else damaged my car AND the repair was expensive. Then again if I had a kid it might feel different.
Brilliant points, I agree with you on all of them! and I would definitely like to see the things you love about your M3 video because I'm planning to buy one next year!
Just got mine, and am leaving the Country for 7 weeks....so that car is just goin to sit there till I get back. I have managed to force 508 miles on it....thought I might reach breaking period before I jet, but could not make it up to 1K + Miles. Am still trying to get use to the manual gear coming from an M340xi. You are right the Base M3 manual feels rubbery, but I will take the engagement any day to my last car. Its night and day.
I hated so much whenever someone ask if they could try out my car. i dont have an M3 i have to the m340i 2021 with shadow line trim and upgraded 20inch wheel. Its not as attractive as the M3 but for some reason quite a bit of friends and family member always ask if they could try out the car especially if they see it for the first time and its so hard to say no. Next thing you know they are they are flooring it, doing launch control. But I totally agree about the G chassis 3 series feels like a driving slam SUV. They handle well especially on sports plus mode they just look huge compare to previous 3 series.
You can get the M gauge by default. Even when im in sport+ and in the highest settings I have the regular gauge with the map in the center. Second, I wouldn't keep comparing an M3 to a civic. Its almost double the car. Third I agree with you on the weight. The g80 m3, especially the X drive one is as heavy as prior generations of m5.
@@izzyr__ I believe so? I think if you go in your M settings you can pick what you want m1 and m2 to be and I think it also gives you the display option if i'm not mistaken.
i also own a G80 manual but upgraded my clutch with clutchmasters now its the perfect car. mine was slipping due to alot of track work. This shift now way stiffer!!!
@@izzyr__ mine was slipping so better get a stronger one then the stock one otherwise i will be slipping after 25 k again🤣 but other from that its the best car i have ever had. A real track beast. With pilot sport cup 2 tires its perfect!!
It’s a vary comfortable drive whether in comfort vs sport plus. Only thing is that traction control may be off depending on your settings, so that always makes me mentally uncomfortable.
As a ‘21 G80 M3 6MT owner, turning off gear shift assistant removes all the rev hang. Have you noticed any difference? I’ve been driving this car wrong this whole time 😂. Also subscribed!
Thanks for the sub! I drove for a bit without auto rev match (that’s what you’re talking about right?), and felt that the computer would prolly perform one better than I could. Turned it back on in hopes that my clutch would last just a bit longer! You’ve inspired me to try driving without it on again tho, so maybe I’ll be enlightened!
@@izzyr__ Haha yeah man! Also have you heard of a CDV delete on BMW manuals? I’ll be getting one soon so that the gears engaging from 1st to 2nd will be quicker and smoother. My brother drives a ‘19 GT350 six speed and there is no rev hang, so he can just slip the clutch. When I drive with gear shift assistant, I noticed the revs are longer and I cannot slip the clutch like my brother can. Honestly, when I’m at the light I feel the other cars next to me drive off faster than me while I’m driving in first gear with gearshift assistant on. My brother took the M3 for a spin and the revs drop insanely quick so he can just slip the clutch and be faster off the line. Also with gearshift assistant off, the car feels more raw and engaging; the car is not vague anymore.
Imagine thinking an M3 is a “special” car. Literally every basic “car enthusiast” has or had one and then they eventually get taste and move onto a C63. BMW is literally for people who can’t afford an AMG 😂
New C63 AMG (hybrid version) is so so bad car overall. Tooo complicated, not fun etc. Even Audi RS5/RS4 that is already old car (from 2017) is much better than new Merc. Old Merc were very good.
@@srbismario Honestly I've been eyeing the Audis as well. BMW has just been "that car" growing up for me and now that I have it, maybe I can move to something else.
I would check out Extreme Detail located in Columbia Heights. They do exceptional work and have detailed my previous 550i/F80 in the past. I recently purchased a BSM G80 and had my paint correction done a few weeks ago. Really great service…check ‘em out!
There is a M button next to the shifter that gives you the M gauge. You can have the gauge display on even in comfort setting. Only dowside is it disables cruise control. I have already put Eventuri intake and Akras on mine. Feels that much more fun to drive now😊
Funny enough, I haven’t driven my civic since I got my M3. It’s just the only thing I have to compare to. Maybe once I get the Lambo I’ll have better comparisons for you 😈

@MatthewJay80 appreciate you bro! Taking a small break from the holidays and then I’m back at it!
M mode doesn't turn off the traction control. G80 is meant to be an auto car. The manual is just an afterthought.
Sweet. Just gotta figure out why mine does
