Hello and welcome - On todays adventure we will be doing some paddle boarding showcasing another gem in Campbell Rivers crown is McIvor Lake, this place is THE waterhole to find FOR yourself come summertime and you want to do something a little different with your day.. and if you get stuck for ideas, this is a great place to bring
& entertain friends and family.
For those not aware, Campbell River is found on northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia. And McIvor lake found within 10 minutes of the downtown of Campbell River on Highway 28. We hyper lapsed it so you can see how quick it is to find & With boats, seadoo’s, canoes, kayaks, young people, old people, kids and is pet friendly, with zero parking fees for day use…. we really do have a little slice of paradise within our own backyard.
A brief history, this lake is named after Daniel Erskine McIvor, whose name is steeped in Canadian history …. Did you know that Daniel McIvor was a Canadian aviation pioneer whose long and storied career was crowned by his work with the Martin Mars water bombers for having "developed water bombing techniques that have saved thousands of acres of forest in British Columbia."
You can of course bring your boats and jet skis as there is a boat ramp but please be mindful of others as you play. And if waterskiing is your thing there is even the potential to practice here too.
