Good job &Just incase you did not know.the dollar tree sells packs of great smaller brushes. i do amateur figure modifications sometimes and dios, they work perfectly.
If ur on hisstank I posted them ( *CHESTswapped COBRA OFFICERS* then since the NECKS and shoulder pins were different i cemented the TOMY XAM necks to the torso , and left the shoulders to look like sigma 6 arms . *it was good enough for me* the only other mod I did was repaint the chariot colorshift green and added LEDs to it 😍 (utube )
you have to prep the figure. use warm soap and water to clean all the factory finish off the figure so the paint will adhere. you have to use a finisher paint as well. Use a heat gun or a hair dryer or put the figure in boiling water to remove joints
I definitely appreciate the comments! Thank you as I am still learning and going to venture in trying another. I will be kitbashing so I will want to make sure I don't damage the figure.
since its acrylic .. you can wash-up / wash off the mistakes with water easy peasy .. the problem with that is that too much posing / playing with it will rub off all your work without some kind of sealant ..
Amateur hour my ass, amazing work buddy, simple, subtle, easy to do, and very well executed, most beginners just cake on layers of paint, it looks very cheap, but this is great!
Excellent work. You have a very deft hand. Acrylics are all about layers. Unless dry brushing, it usually takes more than one coat. Also, adding a little water to the paint when doing fine line work will thin the paint enough to get those nice smooth lines. Awesome job.
@@ArtGcollection I am too my friend lol. Right by the paint your buying in Walmart is a acrylic sealant, like 5.99 in Matte or gloss. Comes in a spray paint style can. Trust me works wonders. Alleens matte finish is in my eye sight but there are Teflon ones all kinds. Try it, great job.
I would not use that apple barrel paint. its not made for plastics. try hobby lobby for paints or angelus paints. they dont chip. any questions hit me up so i can help you out using the right stuff
You just graduated to a professional, looks damn good. I was going to do the red also before I watched your video but I'm going to do the rest now thanks for the idea and great tutorial. 👍
If your talking about joints by itself, you would have to take it all fully apart and then seal it after you paint. Test for rubbing and chipping. Then put back together.
You won’t find them in retail stores anymore. Maybe at local comic/toy shops. Not sure who may sell them at a good price online but it’s good to surf the internet retailers to find out
Excellant work Art, you explained every step perfectly. I hope to be able to find a couple of these one day in Australia & if I do I will definatly do this custom, it really pop's mate. Cheers👍🏻🍻
I have a quick question not sure if you can answer it, just got a baroness and really wanna add some details but not sure if I can just use paint right on the soft parts of the belt. I tried painting a McFarlane Warhammer figure and it went well up until my spray can primer didn't stick to the soft parts like the cape so I want to avoid that.
Great work but always wash the figure first with hot water and dish soap. Why? Cause making these in the factory it adds oil and other stuff. I did hundreds of customs from over 15 years ago none chip ever. This why people have great paint application but it comes off easy. Also get krylon indoor matte sealer do a few super light sprays do no spray close and dont glob it do fast quick left to right sprays. You wont even know it was done no gloss. Then let dry for a few days then enjoy dropping it and no chips only dents if anything no paint comes off. Joints is a whole different story but can be done with some work. I got real good with sealing my joints never scrape off. Experience with trial and error back when i started there was no youtube lol
What a great video Art! Thank you for doing that. It’s AMAZING how much better you made Major Bludd look compared to what we got...a great figure from Hasbro that looks WAYYYYY better! 👏🏻👏🏻 @Hasbro should redeco him just like yours. Great job buddy! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

@@ArtGcollection you wont damage the figure, that A.B. paint you used comes up fairly easily with soap and water and a good scrub.

True….I wasn’t sure on the sealant to use but I will be careful. It’s just fun to do sometimes.

Appreciate it!!! Thank you!! I was trying to save some money and I was giving the apple barrel a shot and it works nicely

Appreciate it!!! Thank you!! I am learning a lot from other creators
Use masking tape to hold it down
This is a bonus video to see Art Custom Paint Bludd! 100% Lite!
Appreciate it!!! Thank you!!
Did you use a paint sealer at the end? I was watching in the background and I didn’t hear you mention that.
I did not. I'm still learning since I'm an amateur.

He also had a blue uniform version of the costume like the cobra troopers in his sonic fighters and battle corps days.
I think I remember that...I have to look it up.

Yea I've been learning more about other pair TS so I will be trying new stuff. Appreciate the info!

How do you keep the paint from chipping off when you move him or pose him especially on the knees and elbos

Art! You did a fantastic job on this custom! I love the results. I just found Bludd so I may try it.
Appreciate it!!! Thank you!! You need to try it

I would wash with soap, then apply a primer. Then you can paint it. Then you can probably seal it after it's complete
@@ArtGcollection Thank you so much for the fast response!!! I appreciate it a lot and will try it.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!
Everybody else's missiles fall off the backpack too?
All the time!
Wow.. that really looks good Art! Your making me want to do the same with mine😬 I use that same paint brand when I created a Tusken Raider Hut😉
Appreciate it!!! Thank you!! Definitely try it
Looks great.. do you think I could just do a silver metallic wash on the black armor and arm?
im sure that would enhance it...
