Thank you, Father. For everything, including how you.slow.us.down..Beautiful words. Beautiful covenant. I hope this video outside means you have been able to film outside again.☦☦
Fr. SPYRIDON, please pray for my brother and others who are going through chemotherapy treatments. May the Lord give them strength and courage. God bless you and your messages to us all.
Oh, that is so wonderful. I have to be at home and will watch services online. Where i live, there are road problems from heavy rains.. But i will remember you and rejoice in your being able to be in a service.. You won't understand everything. Don't even try.. Just let it envelope you and wash over you. Without your being too specific, will you give me an idea of where you will be? ☦💝📿💝☦
@@Bruce_Wayne00584 lovely. I began with Russian churches and my husband and i became members of one...but i spent a few 'cradle' months at the Greek Church in my home town.. They were very kind to me. Some were more reserved. But all helped me when i asked. Be sure to tell someone at the candle stand that you are new. They may be able to help you or provide someone as a back up for you..
As an Orthodox Christian convert living in the Uk, I must say that the combination of Father Spyridon and the beautiful landscape that is almost always in the backdrop is extremely comforting. Thank you for your wisdom father
Thank you Father Spyridon. Praying for your continued health. The writing of Justin Martyr really helped me understand the Eucharist better. Learning what the early church believed about it is essential to help new Catechumen see how incredible the sacrament and mystery is, but also aid in their witness and apologetics to people like Protestants who diminish the Eucharist into nothing more than a monthly "symbolic" act. Without the Eucharist, are we even Christians?
Protestants are TRUE believers also my brother you will SEE 👀 in heaven. Thank you LORD JESUS for your PERFECT life, crucifixion, death, burial,RESURRECTION, ascension into GLORY and your BODILY return to bring US to GOD. The TRIUNE GOD OF HOLY SCRIPTURE. AMEN
@@ironstove9000 they deny the fullness of The Faith outside the Church. I came home to Christ in 1988, then spent 5 years looking for unity in Christ, but nothing satisfied my soul until HE led me to Holy Orthodox Faith in the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Faith, the communion of His Saints and The Gifts of the Holy Spirit in The Church, in 1995, and I left the Anglican convent and communion. It is the ego that prevents us from having the fullness of Christ, which can only be gifted by repentance, prayer and Phronema in The Church. If we remain separate from this, we make up our own religion, instead of receiving what has been transmitted since 33AD. Peace be with you xxx
I certainly hope so in regards to the last part. The catechumen program at my church is lacking in spiritual depth and I haven't been a part of it because of it but I understand Orthodoxy well. I just need real nourishment
As a protestant, I have had issues with many doctrine of Catholicism. Orthodox not so much, but I have had to humble myself to a lack of knowledge in icons. I went to my first liturgy two weeks ago and it was beautiful. I am prayful that the Lord Jesus touches my heart with understanding and my family. I would like to continue the Orthodox path.
It's great to see you well.. great also to see so many watching..( I'm a catholic, trying to be ! 54 year old in Ireland..a changed place mainly for the better except for the fact..it seems the progressive world wants a better more modern diverse world, but sadly inclusion doesn't really include Christian faith.. pray that we don't succumb to Christian mediocrity and that I can ( we all can ); do as you do Stand and proclaim The reality of Jesus Christ the risen lord, amen
Yes FATHER great to see you snd hear your voice. So Happy for your recovery prayed for your HEALING. Pray Fr 🙏 for the reconcecration of ST. PATRICK'S IN NY.AND ALL CHURCHES BEING DECERATED.
Nothing but lovely healtfelt and deep and moving comments i see and how deeply it resonates within one, in the comments i see on this page in comparison with the absolute chaotic babble ive been reading. This is such a breath of fresh air. Much love to you father, brothers and sisters in Christ 🫂
Amen.. you said it beautifully. This is part of the blessing of listening to Fr. Spyridon.. but i find it to be almost always true of those who speak about the Orthodox Faith or with what happens in the services as they just wash over us and let us take quiet, deep breaths...finally. God, bless. ☦💝📿💝☦
I believe, O Lord, and I confess that thou art truly the Christ, the Son of the Living God who didst come into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. And I believe that this is truly thine own immaculate Body and that this is truly thine own precious Blood.
Father Spyridon, Im a Husband, a Father of one little girl, but also a sinner and addict of games and others. Your messages truly ring loud in my heart and Soul. I hope your health is only continuing to make progress. Wishing you all the love and light. Thank you again Father.
I was raised as Christian, turned away from Jesus when i was a teenager and now as adult i came back to him and started to pray everyday and every night. I told him in my prayers all my regrets and sins, i feel very bad about things i did and what i said many times. Yet somehow i feel not worthy his love and forgiveness, everyday i struggle with my belivings, with being a good person. I dont know how to help myself and i cant feel his love towards me... I know im a sinner, not someone holy or special i think he may abaddon me at the time when i did and now he just dosent want me.
Mr.Nik, please never think our lord does not have love for you or has abandoned you, he does not abandon his children. Even people who change their identity. Tho that's much feared apon. Just repent, and ensure you spend time on God, Learning about him, try to read a orthadox study Bible when you can, watch videos such as these, roots of orthodoxy, bishop mar mari Emmanuel, if you would like some orthadox religion yt channels please let me know
Orthodoxy is the true expression of the Christian faith, it is that which is 'given', and in all humility 'received', unto the salvation of our souls. ☦️
My friends, please pray for me recently I confessed my Orthodox beliefs to my parents but they don't want me to become Orthodox as they are non-denominational (Message Believer Branham Cult) and I don't know what to do but I know the Lord will lead me. My name is Angel but soon I hope to Gabriel after St. Gabriel of Georgia.
Father bless, as a former evangelical who only ever saw communion as a symbol, it is amazing how much I missed even in scripture itself about what the Eucharist actually is. Your point about our Lord coming into the womb of the Theotokos and now his body being in us through the Eucharist is a powerful connection that I was so blind to before. Thank you for your reflections.
After one month of penance my spiritual father give permit for Eucharist. Treaser im going to take tomorrow. I wish this to all you bros and sist. All glory to God. Our Life. ❤
Father Spyridon please pray I find the truth. I have so many questions about the Bible and the mystical elements that we here in the west suppress. I have no church or mentors just those I’ve found here. Please pray that I’m led to the truth. God bless you.
In the past few years, I’ve realized what Christianity really is. My whole life, I understood that simply having faith in Christ’s existence will save you. It will not. I look around nowadays and see people claiming that they are Christian, but they never show it, they don’t love God and commit their lives to him. It makes me sad every day to see it, and my main goal in life has become to live like Christ did. It’s hard, and I fall many times every day, but I still want to get up, repent of my sins and continue to follow in Jesus Christ’s footsteps.
I repent every night and pray 🙏 for better times but I see nothing but the event horizon of a dangerous age of times coalescing into one entity of darkness that is omnipresent
Really? I don't think that Fr. Spyridon would quite see it like that. But i must not presume to dare to imply that i know what he might say.. Yes, i know there is darkness, but i do not believe it is omnipresent, nor do i believe that it will defeat the Light. ☦💝☦
Father, i live in Istanbul, Turkiye. My family is extremely strict Muslim. I'm 16 years old and i converted like 6 months ago. If i tell them that im a Christian, they will probably kill me. My dad told me that "If you ever think Islam is false, i can sho*t your head" Should i hide my faith? I love them so much, i dont want to make them become shamed. I beg you to answer me. Thank you

Father Spyridon, I need your advice! A year ago I've accepted Jesus as my Lord, however I haven't been baptised yet or have a comunity of brothers and sisters. I've studied and came to the conclusion that the orthodox church is the church I should join, recently I went to mass in a romenian orthodox parish, talked with the priest through facebook and told I wanted to be baptised, he told me he'd speak with me after mass. When everyone left the church I talked to him and he asked me if I had any expirience with the orthodox religion, I said no, not with any religion, he looked very surprised and told he'd send me a link, he never did... what should I do? I want to be orthodox and I try to follow the path of righteussness every day, but, I need a church, I need guidance and support, and most importantly I need to be baptised... please help me!
hi there dear one. it could be an innocent error that he forgot. so go next week and remind him, also make sure that your details were given to him correctly. love and blessings to you on your wonderful journey with Jesus our LORD.
Priests are busy. Contact him again. That being said, you don't just "decide to get baptised" in the Orthodox Church. You must first go through a catechumenate...possibly 1 to 1.5 years of lessons to learn the theology and mind of the Orthodox Church...which is very different than what most in the West are familiar with. While taking classes (the church will offer them), you are expected to regularly attend liturgy, as well. It is a lengthly process, but worth it, believe me.
God bless Fr. Spyridon . The terrible *_Hallow Mysteries_* of the Eucharist are only known to Orthodox brethren, who read, study and practice the Holy Faith. 😢 Edit: can't type
Traditional.Catholicism teaches the same I believe. It was only during the Reformation period that the heresy of the Eucharist being symbolic was embraced more whole heartedly.
i'm a protestant, how do i begin to believe that the bread and wine is literally Jesus' body? I've always been taught and believe it to be a symbolic thing
I am unable to partake frequently of holy communion or confession due to my location and distance from church. ( have to take a 14 hour ferry ride plus a drive to get to a church ) I am worried for my soul and I need help please pray for me and offer any advice you can.
Father Spyirdon i need help getting over lust, i really want to change but i always fall back down what can i do to chnage and give up my old lustful ways
Help me I want to be back in the faith if I’m a reprobate or God just gave up on me I live in torment daily I’m the worse I’ve blasphemed God in my head mocked God with my life I just want to make it to Heaven
If you have sinned, go to a priest and confess your sins before the Lord, so that you could receive absolution. If you have fallen, get back up and sin no more. As St Andrew of Crete writes in his Great Canon of Repentance, "Come, wretched soul, with thy flesh to the Creator of all. Make confession to Him, and abstain henceforth from thy past brutishness; and offer to God tears of repentance. [...] I confess to Thee, O Savior, the sins I have committed, the wounds of my soul and body, which murderous thoughts, like thieves, have inflicted inwardly upon me."
I believe by faith that it is his body and blood!! Every time I receive it, I feel healing of body, mind and soul. It brings me so much peace and I feel brand new!!! 💖🩸💯🙏🏾
This is just another example of why I don’t like the label “Protestant.” Lutherans and Anglo-Catholics believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist and that it is truly the blood and body of Christ. The above mentioned, Catholics, and Orthodox all believe that IS means IS. They formulate differently as to how this works according to their own theological systems but they all are faithful to the scriptures as to the objectivity of Christ’s presence.
It’s the faith of the Apostles passed down to us; the belief and practice of the ancient Church. Of course the Eucharist is celebrated in the Divine Liturgy. It was a thousand years before Rome left the Orthodox Church and created Roman ‘Catholicism,’ so on the surface you will see similar things that were held in common for a millennium, though the papists have been innovating for the past thousand years and the similarities are now superficial-having different beliefs underlying almost everything; effecting faith and praxis.
you used to think that eucharist was symbolic due to watching reformer RUclips channels, but I started watching videos on the real presence. and the real presence makes sense cause Jesus confirms it's his flesh n blood. not all reformers deny. the real presence you have the lutherans who believe in the real presence
Originally, Christology; from which everything else flows. The Orientals left the communion of the One Church in the 5th century and have been going their own way ever since, picking up various other differences over time. They are united mostly in name only, as beliefs and practices vary among them now. Some are judaizers, some are not, for example. Their unity only really exists in holding to a Christological heresy among them.
Fabulous! The Greeks have two words for 'time': Cronos for chronological time and Kairos for that mysterious way that we, in the 21st century, participate in the Last Supper. It's also why Jewish children ask at Passover, "Why is this night different from all the other nights? They are told, "This is the night you were delivered from slavery in Egypt "
You encounter with the Blood and Flesh of the Lord is strictly personal and private. It all depends on your spiritual state and can not be either described and/or predicted.
The Bible warns to not take Communion lightly, as many became sick or died from it, by not being spiritually worthy (in a state of repentance) beforehand (1 Corinthians 11: 28-30). Personally, I usually feel unburdened afterwards, more joyful, and positive, closer to Christ. Everyone's experience is different and personal.
Let's say that it's more expected that I don't feel anything (immediately) after taking the Eucharist... I'm so blind and deaf spiritually, mortifyed by my sins, that feeling anything is really out of Christ's mercy when it wouldn't be dangerous to me.
My son quit church when he was offended by a young pastor. He said “it’s just a corporation, disguised as a church!” I started doing some research… he’s right 😢
What I was taught from the Bible was Paul to the Corinth’s - when we take Christ communion - we accept christ, but we also accept death (Fact) BUT listen to this : because we accepted christ, we also have accepted his resurrection and eternal life (On the third day he rose) and this is how (we are saved through christ) without christ there is no resurrection - only life and death (Death) SO, christ made a way - when Paul spoke to the Corinth’s - they accepted this teaching which is one of the best teachings I was taught - how I came to accept and recieve Christ, myself. I hope you don’t mind me sharing this with you - I love this topic.
The amount of irreverence being shown during the time of communion I see in my Parrish is mind boggling. Both the young as well as those who have been there for decades.
As someone who's grown up in the protestant church all of my life (and is a current protestant Christian), I respect your view. I don't fully understand why Catholics believe in the Eucharist because Jesus uses many other similies to represent the heart of the message he's trying to convey. For example, "I am the door." Jesus doesn't mean that he's a literal door made out of wood, but rather, that one can only come to the father through accepting his sacrifice. I've always been of the notion that the same is for Holy Communion, that it represents us Christians accepting the new covenant and accepting the spiritual "eating and drinking of Christ's blood" in a physical form, through eating bread and drinking wine. If you are able to, I'd love to hear what you have to say on this and why I might be misled.
@@GawneForeverHey! I’m going through rcia right now to be confirmed catholic. So idk much, but what I do know is that many of jesus’s followers abandoned him due to refusing to eat (the original word translates to ‘gnaw’) his flesh and drink his blood. When they were leaving he didn’t say “hey wait a second its symbolic!” he let them leave him over it, and let them essentially choose to go to hell over it. Just my thoughts on it, not sure what a theologan would say or someone more qualified!
@@GawneForever The existence of a simile that even a child would recognize does not entail such an application wherever we may choose based upon some modern tradition. The Orthodox Church has always understood the Eucharist in a singular way. That is what we have received. This is what has always been done. If we want to philosophize about the divine command in order to empty it of any real significance, neglecting also St Paul who admonished the faithful not to eat and drink unworthily-making us part company with the faith and praxis of the early Church (which we have in writing)-then we are free to do so, just as many who followed Him up to that point likewise did when hearing these words of life. Settling for the empty symbol of modern sectarians when the Reality is offered to us in His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church is pitiable to say the least. By the way, Fr Spyridon is a hieromonk of the Holy Orthodox Church, not a Roman 'Catholic' papist (if that is what you had in mind when referencing catholics).
Problem is the translation. If you speak an old language (yes older than Latin) you can understand Jesus spoke in parables most of the time like many of the people back then did. Words were more connected to the physical world in old languages. Current languages are disconnected and rather just “elegant”.
@@nnarkaj Good thing Christ established His Church as the ‘pillar and ground of truth’ instead of just leaving us with a book that everyone thinks they have the right to privately interpret. Quibbles over translations by modern man are irrelevant to the faith once delivered that has been kept throughout the ages by the One Church.
Thank you father. I needed to hear this. Too long I have been giving myself excuses for not going to Liturgy and to the Church. First I told myself that I needed to move abroad to an Orthodox nation, and I still did not attend. Then I told myself I needed a car to drive to Church as the walk was too long, and still I didn't go. I have recently discovered the life of the 'Stranniks' in Russia, who wondered from place to place, monastery to monastery and house to house so that they may deprive themselves of the world, I have decided to follow in their footsteps and I now will embark on a long journey visiting some few dozen monasteries and Churches in Serbia on my way through the country while camping in the wilderness. It will take me several weeks to the capital. There are no more excuses, and my way forward is clear. Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Truely said father...Unless we eat His body and drink his blood, we do not have his life in us.☦️⛪ •Every time we receive Holy communion we enter into mystery & *covenant b/w us and God is renewed.* •The *Eucharist unites us* in one body and one church. Prayer: Lord Jesus help us to be united with You and others..Amen🙌
Fr. Spyridon, please pray for the elementary school near me. They are suffering with measles, and I worry so much for the children that are sick and for the parents. Please, pray that Lord give them healing. Thank you.
Warning: wall of text incoming I was raised southern baptist, and I lived the fruits of sola fide and the laissez faire attitude towards Christianity that protestantism puts forward. I ended up depressed, unable to enjoy anything, because I was completely lacking the wholeness that God provides. I was questioning my beliefs, questioning if life is worth living, even considering suicide at one point. I cried out to God for some sign that He was real. The very next day, this channel appeared in my feed. I hadn't been watching any Christian content, I didn't even know what Eastern Orthodoxy was, but lo and behold, a priest appeared to me. From there, I started researching orthodoxy, I learned of church history and the schisms it has faced. I learned of the heretical things that the supposed hero of the church Martin Luther had said, and I learned that _seven_ books of the bible had been hidden from me for all my life. It was unbelievable to me how blatantly wrong protestantism is. Now, I attend an EO church for vespers and divine liturgy every week, and I pray the orthodox way, and life has never been more joyous. It's ironic, because I'm a lot less sure that I'll make it to Heaven now that the gravity of my sin has been revealed to me. And yet, I feel more at peace than I ever have, because at least I know for certain that Heaven is real, and that the kingdom of God is something that I can strive for. Father, I'm sure you get a lot of messages about how you led people to orthodoxy, and it probably gets tiring at some point, but I wanted you to know that I might not even be alive today if your channel didn't exist. Thank you.
THAT WASN'T A VERY BIG WALL OF WORDS! I read every one and i deeply understand them. I was received into the Church before i ever saw much if anything on line. But i am deeply grateful for those such as Fr. Spyridon now. Glory to God! I understand that deep joy.
I have had a very similar experience, was raised non-denominational, and took communion with a paper cup and a cracker. Christ has spoken to me through my Church father, and it made me seek reconciliation with my family
There are so many wonderful things in what you said. I was so very miserable in the prtnst world, but i was the one who was the question mark.. They couldn't understand why i didn't get with the program. Thought it might be because i didn't know enough. But i had even gone to a church college. Anyway the Lord kept me very uneasy until He opened the path to me with visits to Moscow and St. Petersburg in the late 80s and early 90s..I am so grateful I chucked when i saw your comment about being less sure of your salvation now than you were before...even as you have so much joy.. I understand.. but i am beginning to have a kind of hope about that i never had before..(i didn't grow up with assured salvation..we were not calvinist..thank you, Lord..😏) But what I wanted to tell you was that in the earlier years i used to often begin my confessions by saying it all had seemed a lot easier when we were prtnts. That calms down. We have our sins to deal with, but the Lord and the Church are so gentle..
Fr bless. Please pray for the repose of my younger brother James Silvers. Non orthodox. Protestant with renewed relationship w God after recovery from life of alcoholism. Thank you Fr.
Light a candle and pray for him. God will do the rest. Only speak of The Faith if he asks, and tell him "If you want to know, ask Jesus, and may He put it in your heart come to Church and meet Him, Our Lord and God, in The Liturgy."
There are some lovely publications related to Russian saints and churches, etc, Quite lovely to read.. in English.. One is called Russian Faith. I think that the other is Russian Church News. I don't remember where i saw that there is a church outside Moscow which has been newly-built and consecrated in the name of St. Varus, who is known as someone who especially prays for the dead who were not Christian (Orthodox, usually, but i doubt that that impedes the prayers of St. Varus.) It was a lovely story and is a lovely church. I am trying to remember to ask his prayers since i have no one in my family who is Orthodox. MAYBE in the early centuries of the Church in Germany or in the British Isles, might someone of my ancestors have been Orthodox. Otherwise, no. GOD, BLESS MAYBE this will help you.
"If you do not eat My body and drink My blood you have no life within you". Accept it or reject it. One's eternity is at stake. Many would rather be "right".....rather than be saved. Freewill is a great gift. Arrogance and pride is of Satan/
I went from a mainline protestant church to Orthodoxy. As an adult I was baptized into the Orthodox Church, and took Holy Communion. I experienced the fear of the Lord, and His love and grace. This is bringing healing to strained family relationships and driving out toxic hangers on. However, this is only the beginning as the devil will continuously to assault you. Prayer, and fasting and going to Church regularly combats that, as well as Holy Communion. I find myself wanting to do the Lord's will from His love.
Heal the wounds of my soul, O Lord, and wholly sanctify me, and make me worthy, O Lord, to partake of Your divine mystical Supper, wretched though I am. 🙏☦️❤️🕊
I struggle with the Eucharist a lot because I have celiac disease. It’s one of the reasons I’ve stayed Protestant. Bread makes me very ill and destroys my intestines. I don’t understand this struggle god has allowed me to have.
A lady at my parish takes partakes only of the blood of Christ, probably because she has a similar issue. You don't need to remain Protestant. Climb aboard the Ark of Salvation.
I also know a lady at my parish with severe Celiac. She takes the Eucharist every Sunday. She told me that she experiences a miracle at every Liturgy. Don't let this stop you!
You must please speak to an Orthodox priest. This should not keep you from the Church. The are beautiful prayers prayed before the communicants receive the Holy Mysteries. Yes, Gifts. Mysteries. One pray speaks of them being for the healing or soul and body. These are not symbols, which i heard every Sunday in my prtnst church, but the real thing. Please talk to a priest.
Is it not our heaven upon earth?, the most joyfilled news to know Jesus Christ desends still every minute into the Host and into the Chalice around the world❤. Jesus warned we must become like little children to enter into heaven!!
Father Spyridon pray for me, who struggles with lust and I am unworthy of God's kingdom. Πατερ μου πρεσβευε υπερ ημων. Constantinos. Glad to see you healthy again father!
I will pray for you. Many have this passion. You are not at all alone. It will likely be a long if not lifetime fight. It will get better if you fast a little and pray a lot. Don't let the thoughts stay in your mind. Pray with all your heart to Christ and the Theotokos to help you see correctly. Most importantly, NEVER give up. when you feel weak pray. Be prepared for a long struggle but take heart, God and the saints will be with you if you call on them with tears.
I have been struggling with this since I was 10, I am now 22. I have abstained for 7 days so far, I have struggled much these last months with it, and I have been crying more often than usual, but I feel my heart changing, I feel the holy spirit quite literally taking the lust out of me. It is a struggle, I will pray for you brother, keep fighting the good fight of faith, this road is the only road worth fighting for!
@214arnas thank you for your prayers. It is more difficult through the Lenten season but it will get easier and easier as your strength and trust grow. There is a great peace that comes at some point. It has been close to for years for me since I began the struggle against lust and self harm and God has cleared most of it from me. It still lives in my heart and that takes the longest, if it is ever destroyed, but now it is very manageable and lessening little by little. Someday it will be completely gone, but until then we pray constantly while God teaches and repairs us. You will be OK my friend, trust in Him.
Thank you Father for your annoiting voice to give us knowledge of the word that speaks to believers …Gods word will not come back void but strengthen us in truths
Amen..This is my body..This is my blood...For emphasizing the Holy Eucharist to enter into the covenant by receiving Holy Communion...Thankyou Fr.Spyridon for the valuable sermon...This VALUABLE SERMON needs to be listened 🎶 to...
Hello Father, I have a question. The first commandment says: do not serve other gods. But if I now watch RUclips or series because I feel like it, am I sinning and breaking the first commandment because i am serving myself before God? If so, do you have to give up everything? Is that even possible for us? I'm not on my phone much and try to spend most of the day with God. What do you think about this? Can I improve myself? Thanks and God bless you father.
You need to find a spiritual father who can guide on these things. Visit churches and monasteries till you find a wise discerning priest or monk who can help you.
I think what the first commandment actually says is "you shall not worship other gods beside Me" - in Hebrew, serving and worshipping are one and same word which is very understandable: the Lord is both true God (worship) and the true King of Israel (service)... Using RUclips and social media per se is not a sin anymore than reading books or doing your job for livelihood (in my opinion, and since Fr. Spyridon is doing these videos he likely thinks in very similar way), but I know some people to whom it has become like idolatry so it is a real danger. They key idea is to do everything for the glory of God and to give thanks to Him for all things. If we are not able to live like that, it would be better to stop doing those things. What you could try is to deny your own will in these matters (as St abba Dorotheos of Gaza and many others suggests). Meaning, when you feel you would like to watch RUclips, do not do it. When you would like to check your phone/social media for messages, do not do it. When you feel like you would like to send a comment or tweet, don't do it (especially if it's an angry or offensive/defensive comment). If you can do it, you don't likely keep yourself as your own god. But if you struggle with this all, then it is either a sign of addiction or idolatry, and continuing to deny your will this way may work as a cure to that.
Father, please help me in having faith in the Eucharist. I want to believe it is Jesus’ flesh, but I just can’t bring myself to do so because it is not biological flesh. I’m a very scientific person, and I can’t get past this barrier. Any help would be appreciated
Every Sunday, in the Danish Folk Church, a Lutheran one, I receive the Eucharist and the priest looks me in the eye and says "this is the flesh of our lord Jesus Christ" and "this is the blood of our lord Jesus Christ". I am unable to live in faith without.

Where i live, there are road problems from heavy rains..
But i will remember you and rejoice in your being able to be in a service.. You won't understand everything. Don't even try..
Just let it envelope you and wash over you.

Thank you for this comment I will research Justin Martyr… I have been struggling with this.
I certainly hope so in regards to the last part. The catechumen program at my church is lacking in spiritual depth and I haven't been a part of it because of it but I understand Orthodoxy well. I just need real nourishment

Father bless, as a former evangelical who only ever saw communion as a symbol, it is amazing how much I missed even in scripture itself about what the Eucharist actually is.
Don't listen to the demons. The world is falling into darkness, but be of good cheer, Christ has overcome the world.

Im going to make an assumption and say he probably forgot to send you the link, you should remind him.
hi there dear one. it could be an innocent error that he forgot. so go next week and remind him, also make sure that your details were given to him correctly. love and blessings to you on your wonderful journey with Jesus our LORD.
My suggestion: just keep going and give him another chance. It will be good for him to know that you are serious.. just keep going..
We live in dark times.
🙏🏼 ❤️☦️
God bless Fr. Spyridon .
The terrible *_Hallow Mysteries_* of the Eucharist are only known to Orthodox brethren, who read, study and practice the Holy Faith. 😢
Edit: can't type
Traditional.Catholicism teaches the same I believe. It was only during the Reformation period that the heresy of the Eucharist being symbolic was embraced more whole heartedly.
@@kateleurs5012 sure, though, the pope used to be Orthodox as well 😑

I have sinned
This is just another example of why I don’t like the label “Protestant.” Lutherans and Anglo-Catholics believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist and that it is truly the blood and body of Christ. The above mentioned, Catholics, and Orthodox all believe that IS means IS. They formulate differently as to how this works according to their own theological systems but they all are faithful to the scriptures as to the objectivity of Christ’s presence.
i lack knowledge on this, so the Eucharist is not only a Catholic tradition it is also done in the Orthodox Liturgy?
All the Pre-Reformation Groups believe in the Eucharist.
It’s the faith of the Apostles passed down to us; the belief and practice of the ancient Church. Of course the Eucharist is celebrated in the Divine Liturgy. It was a thousand years before Rome left the Orthodox Church and created Roman ‘Catholicism,’ so on the surface you will see similar things that were held in common for a millennium, though the papists have been innovating for the past thousand years and the similarities are now superficial-having different beliefs underlying almost everything; effecting faith and praxis.
you used to think that eucharist was symbolic due to watching reformer RUclips channels, but I started watching videos on the real presence. and the real presence makes sense cause Jesus confirms it's his flesh n blood. not all reformers deny. the real presence you have the lutherans who believe in the real presence
what is the difference between oriental and eastern orthodox
Originally, Christology; from which everything else flows. The Orientals left the communion of the One Church in the 5th century and have been going their own way ever since, picking up various other differences over time. They are united mostly in name only, as beliefs and practices vary among them now. Some are judaizers, some are not, for example. Their unity only really exists in holding to a Christological heresy among them.
Call no man on earth Father, and the meat of the Faith was Christ crucified.
Are we supposed to feel something after taking the Eucharist?
You encounter with the Blood and Flesh of the Lord is strictly personal and private. It all depends on your spiritual state and can not be either described and/or predicted.
you don’t have to no
The Bible warns to not take Communion lightly, as many became sick or died from it, by not being spiritually worthy (in a state of repentance) beforehand (1 Corinthians 11: 28-30).
The Church in Corinth.
They were Corinthians.
This Church still exists, an unbroken line from Christ and the Apostles. It is Orthodoxy.
But that would be canibalism...😢
The amount of irreverence being shown during the time of communion I see in my Parrish is mind boggling. Both the young as well as those who have been there for decades.
This 'IS' my flesh, this 'IS' my blood. Not 'Represents', not 'Comemorates'. IS.

I was raised southern baptist, and I lived the fruits of sola fide and the laissez faire attitude towards Christianity that protestantism puts forward.
Glory to God!
Petersburg in the late 80s and early 90s..I am so grateful
I chucked when i saw your comment about being less sure of your salvation now than you were before...even as you have so much joy..
I understand.. but i am beginning to have a kind of hope about that i never had before..(i didn't grow up with assured salvation..we were not calvinist..thank you, Lord..😏)
But what I wanted to tell you was that in the earlier years i used to often begin my confessions by saying it all had seemed a lot easier when we were prtnts. That calms down. We have our sins to deal with, but the Lord and the Church are so gentle..
Halleluja

There are some lovely publications related to Russian saints and churches, etc, Quite lovely to read.. in English..
One is called Russian Faith. I think that the other is Russian Church News.
I don't remember where i saw that there is a church outside Moscow which has been newly-built and consecrated in the name of St. Varus, who is known as someone who especially prays for the dead who were not Christian (Orthodox, usually, but i doubt that that impedes the prayers of St. Varus.)
It was a lovely story and is a lovely church. I am trying to remember to ask his prayers since i have no one in my family who is Orthodox. MAYBE in the early centuries of the Church in Germany or in the British Isles, might someone of my ancestors have been Orthodox. Otherwise, no. GOD, BLESS
MAYBE this will help you.

May all of the Western world be baptised just like ancient Rus.
Fr. Please pray for my son who’s living a sinful life 🙏
I went from a mainline protestant church to Orthodoxy.

I struggle with the Eucharist a lot because I have celiac disease. It’s one of the reasons I’ve stayed Protestant. Bread makes me very ill and destroys my intestines. I don’t understand this struggle god has allowed me to have.
Go to the orthodox church and ask the priest about this issue
That is not a bread you would be taking if you are to become Orthodox...

Be prepared for a long struggle but take heart, God and the saints will be with you if you call on them with tears.
me too struggle with lust, so please brother, pray for me too😔😔😥@@johnj8166

4:35 YES!!! The Eucharist is no longer bread and wine but only appears to be so, that’s exactly what St. Cyril said
Hello Father, I have a question.
Amen Father Spyridon🙏
Beautiful
Every Sunday, in the Danish Folk Church, a Lutheran one, I receive the Eucharist and the priest looks me in the eye and says "this is the flesh of our lord Jesus Christ" and "this is the blood of our lord Jesus Christ". I am unable to live in faith without.
