Guys pay attention. The tire surface is fine except for that mangled spot. Somebody is hiding something. This looks to me a catastrophic impact on a sharp edged obstacle or a nasty pothole.
I have the Kumho HT51 on my dodge ram 1500 hemi and have just the opposite experience. Excellent traction, handle any load in the bed, there really quiet and they are wear very even.
I have to agree with you, I have a 2012 Ram 1500 Hemi 4x4 and I am on my second set of Kumho's, ht51. The first set I got 67,000 miles on them and decided to replace them. I'm working on 25,000 miles with the second set and they are just fine.
0:49 if you're saying the same damage/wear occurred 6 months before then I am inclined to say that it may not be the tire but the alignment or some other mechanical issue with the car.
It did this to all 4 of those tires on all 4 corners of the car. The tread was worn evenly. I doubt that 4 hubs have a mechanical issue. After I replaced with another brand, this issue never occurred again
Don't be stupid. It is not an alignment issue. All 4 corners of the car out of alignment? All 4 tires had consistent, and level treadwear. Did you watch the video? The tire I'm showing your dumbaas doesn't have any signs of a balance or an alignment issue. This happened to all 4 tires. I just showed you one. Troll
I’m not convinced. That damage pattern is indicative of hitting something not flat, i.e. a curb at high speed. I’ve seen it before, when I hit a curb at high speed.
@@floex831 So you're saying the tire hit a curb? Maybe you can tell me how a curb hit the inside of the tire? That separation isnt on the outer side of the tire.
I got a set of kumhos and they turned into this. After I found out I did burnouts to my heart’s content and got a set of Goodyear. Ive never gone cheap on tires after that.
5 yrs on my Verloster Turbo and never had any problems except the front needs replaced because I drive crazy and it's a front wheel drive on my channel
I bought some Kumhos TA71 two years ago and they both have like if someone's slashed them from the inside when that's impossible I know is a factory defect what a coincidence that both tires have the exact same issues on my rears. I bought these because they give you more mileage versus Michelin pilot Sport, but Michelin are top notch.
Thanks for this video! I still don't like Firestone. It took the NHTSA 20 years to find that Firestones were killer junk, as I personally saw our Army Motorpools of the 80s stuffed with disintegrating Firestone tires. Makes you wonder about evil industry lobbyists and our(!) government agencies that are supposed to serve us. I guess I am going (for now at least) to add Kumho to my No-No list, which also includes the big 5 tires to avoid at all cost that are mentioned all over, as well as Firestone.
I’ve heard so many good things about jumbo. As I’ve spent about 3 hours a day so (15-21 hours) researching and I’ve found that every manufacturer has made tires that dont represent their established reputation. I’ve seen so many good things about kumho, even reviewed claiming they have used kumho for 20 years(1person) and 13+ years. I also saw that good year made a “killer tire” continental and Michelin have tires that didn’t last nearly as long as they claim etc. Looks like this mode (sense) should be off the good tire list lol
smasila , curb damage huh? On the inside of the tire? You need to listen to the video better. Because this is the 2nd tire that's done that out of the set that was bought. Replaced front right 6 months prior and now left rear.
look at the video carefully, the main damage is actually to the outer part of the tire. I've rarely heard anything bad about Kumhos, but mabe that specific model or could be a pothole or curb.
Thanks for.watching. people tried to say I curbed it or other ridiculous ideas. But the fact is eventually all 4 tires separated on the inside walls of the tire.
I guess your calling me a liar? I made this video to share my experiences with this tire. But like you said, your no expert. And these tires aren't regroved, the belts are separating.

Thanks for your honest answer... I am shopping for replacement tires.. I would think there are minimum standards for all tires and if those failures were common, there should have been a recall as those could have caused a serious accident Kumho and Hankook are South Korean-made tires and come standard on Hyundai and Kia cars (no surprise there!). Knowing what exactly you are buying with tires can be difficult, as some well-made tires are out there with lesser known brand names Thanks again for this valuable video
Enrique Ortiz well said. That's exactly what happened. I religiously check tires for proper inflation. Since then, I had to replace the other 2 tires for the same type of separation.
Sorry old mate but maybe you were the cause of this failure. A lot of people still don't know this but you should never ever cross rotate your steel belted radial tyres ie diagonally or from left to right. Regardless of what you think or your vehicle owners manual says. They should only be rotated from front to back (or visa versa) from the same side. Some tyre brands can handle it some can't. Bridstone desert duelers were terrible and blow apart within days of getting the rotation wrong.
I didn't cross rotate mate. When I rotate its always front to back and the tires stay on same side. Good try on blaming me for poor workmanship of the tire
Neto Prates I had gotten the Sense and talked my son into buying the same. It happened to him too. I think they may have stopped making it for that reason. But for those who bought them, the company screwed us. Someone needs to start a lawsuit..
The problem here in Brazil that for you to sue them, the invoice would have this in my name and mine is not. here in Brazil there is a lot of bureaucracy and law that do not help the citizen
