I've grown up experiencing drag basically 100% through media because of my social anxiety. I haven't watched a season of drag race in years but I watch most of the content on WoW and because of the algorithm, I end up on channels like yours that give me an insight on what the performers are actually like irl. I don't necessarily go out of my way to seek it out but I appreciate how much everyone shares about their lives and struggles. Though it may be painful to hear yourself say it out loud, sometimes we end up helping others understand that even light hearted conversations make us overwhelmed and overthink. Its important to say it out loud though because then you know whoever meets you with resistance isn't worth the pain or the thought. I've lived my whole life uncomfortable in my body but I still try to go out of my way and dress according to myself and not anyone else. Now the only person that makes me feel bad about it is me 😂 My unsolicited advice to you is to keep presenting your genuine self more often so that its implemented. It will help you and the people around understand and see you for you and not whatever you feel like you aren't/aren't anymore. That being said, I can't imagine the added pressure of being famous. I've grown up experiencing drag basically 100% through media because of my social anxiety. I haven't watched a season of drag race in years but I watch most of the content on WoW and because of the algorithm, I end up on channels like yours that give me an insight on what the performers are actually like irl. I don't necessarily go out of my way to seek it out but I appreciate how much everyone shares about their lives and struggles.
Though it may be painful to hear yourself say it out loud, sometimes we end up helping others understand that even light hearted conversations make us overwhelmed and overthink. Its important to say it out loud though because then you know whoever meets you with resistance isn't worth the pain or the thought. I've lived my whole life uncomfortable in my body but I still try to go out of my way and dress according to myself and not anyone else. Now the only person that makes me feel bad about it is me 😂
My unsolicited advice to you is to keep presenting your genuine self more often so that its implemented. It will help you and the people around understand and see you for you and not whatever you feel like you aren't/aren't anymore.
That being said, I can't imagine the added pressure of being famous.
