Have you tried mold release spray on the leaf before applying the UV resin? It may allow you to simply pull the leaf away after curing. If you are using chameleon micas, you might consider applying the mica to the leaf instead of mold release. If you have a full coating of the mica, the leaf should pull off easily, leaving the mica in the resin. Then you can do a thin top coat to gloss it up. For spreading the resin onto the leaf, using your finger in the glove or even a finger in a balloon should be the best method. You can feel the resin coverage through the glove so it’s far easier to get even coverage and faster because your finger can be slim profile for details or the wide, flat profile of the pad of your finger for fast spreading of the resin puddle.

I'm curious why not use a small paint brush to spread? I'm new to uv resin and haven't ventured into epoxy yet. But use small nail artist brush with uv to get into tiny areas. Interesting to see in this video she interchanges the resins. Didn't know that was possible. Wondered why she chose epoxy to cover the frog instead of uv. Which would have been faster. Thoughts? Thx!

⁠​⁠@@lutinab5265the frog has a very irregular surface that would require 5 UV cycles to completely cure. Doing that has a high chance of causing lumps or waves in the cured resin due to uneven curing. UV resin is fine for doing top/bottom coats on flat(ish) surfaces where you can cure the whole thing in one shot but for irregular surfaces, epoxy resin is better if done properly. Alternately, you could use glossy top coat spray to gloss up the surface. Test to make sure the spray is compatible with the resin. As long as the spray adheres to plastics, it should work.
