  • In this video, pastor Ron Kelly talks about a difficult topic - femininity, submission, and male amnesia. He discusses the importance of submission and how it recognizes structure, which when God-ordained, is set up for happiness. He emphasizes the need for mutual respect and trust in a good home and how it allows people to talk through sensitive and difficult topics, solve problems, and be happy with each other's presence.
He also talks about the dynamic of submission in the Bible and how it is a choice rather than a force. He quotes verses from the Bible to explain the concept of submission and how it is applicable to both men and women. If you are looking for insights on how to build a happy and peaceful home, this video is a must-watch.

As a survivor of an abusive relationship, God can change a person. The hands that used to strike me now rub my aching body. Praying for both men and women suffering abuse. May they be converted.

I wouldn't of been able to withstand that. However, I'm thankful you for your outcome and that now you are loved and cared for.....

I had such a beautiful marriage but my dear husband of 55 years had a heart attack the day after Thanksgiving when we were visiting in Michigan. I miss him so bad. I loved your sermon. I hope couples will listen and treasure every moment with their mate.

What a powerful message, one that was so right for this moment. What a beautiful image that marriage is if it was done according to God's Word. I LOVE the fact that men and women are different because when we come together, we can achieve so much with our different strengths. I really appreciate this message. It also made me understand more the role of my husband and how much he carries as well. And how I must change accordingly. That is something I believe God wanted me to understand more deeply. 🙏❤️

Wonderful message! So many great points.
Man and wife were created to complement one another. We’re wonderfully different, and help each other to grow in marriage when we work together. Marriage is a gift from God and He wants home to be the most sacred and peaceful place on earth.
I loved how this message ended with the admonition to feed our marriage relationship- it’s so worth the time and money it takes.

Excellent. So many say the wife should be submissive, and then fail to go on and teach the husband's role.
While none of us is sinless
I found out after an elder died that he was physically abusive to his wife. I used to sit in his Sabbath School class, and when i found out what he used to do, i felt ill.

I married a highly respect SDA church elder. We were married 1 year, and he almost killed me in that year with his control. He was a master manipulator and hypocrite. I gave a painful testimony to the nominating committee when they proposed to make him head elder after the divorce that saved my life. They promoted him anyway. I was ostracized. That is the story of way too many women in conservative circles.

I've seen church boards keep wicked men in power so many times it isn't funny. Including the pastor who molested me and other girls in the church. Thank God my relationship with Christ has kept me faithful in spite of evil people. I pray that negative experience has not cast a shadow on your relationship with Christ. May God strengthen and keep you (and me) in His word, in spite of evil people in church.

And this is why many women just give up on churches after being married to such persons

@violetstephanie1 so true. I was molested by my pastor when I was a young teen. I gave my testimony, and so did other young women to the church board and conference officials. My mother was also approached by this pastor in the presence of her children. She ran from him in our apartment. I witnessed this myself. He was moved to another church. I could have left the church. It's a miracle I didn't. One Sabbath he had me locked alone in the church. He had a hideous laugh and said, "I got you now!" I cried out loud the name of Jesus, and I watched the pastor immediately fall on his face. He couldn't get up off the floor until I was free. I literally watched him appear to swim on the floor until I escaped. I think that moment of power renewed my faith. That moment is dear to my heart to this day.

Sometimes, most times, the closing song is as much a sermon. This one would have been. Please let them play. People can quit the recording whenever they want.

A lot of truth here but for those of us with decades of actual abuse we see it differently. Many men in my life totally wanted to fight and constantly instigated including physically. Again good points made here overall.

I think all girls and women should do 3 things to stay alive and that includes sda.
    1. Strengthen relationship with God. Make sure you know Him and His voice and he knows yours.
    2. Get educated so you can financially make it on your own.
    3. Self defense So you can kick a$$ if your husband is beating you up.
I am speaking from the perspective of being abused in childhood and adulthood. That abuse also included from men and women in the sda church.

And way too often church women don’t leave their husbands who are abusive. More people need to surround them and lift them up. Because abuse is not one time. This woman spoke out , it was worse than she described because she probably tried to protect him

A great sermon that needs repeating yearly. Another thing: Sometimes, most times, the closing song is as much a sermon. This one would have been. Please let them play. People can quit the recording whenever they want.

You may not understand "reactive abuse." This happens because a victim is experiencing "death by a thousand papercuts," and being driven to insanity.
Respect is a BIG DEAL TO WOMEN, TOO.

I believe pastor Kelly was trying so hard not to offended women that he didn't realize that men and women are not 99.9999999% the same so the decision making line will not be such either. Also, there are many many other Ellen white quotes that wound render the topic quite differently .
