If the battery is fully ignited, you need a fire extinguisher. This is to prevent full ignition and in the worst-case scenario an - explosion

Pro tip. Make sure the fire extinguisher have a Type C for battery fire
Video before this one I just watched said class D, figured I’d play devils advocate since now there’s multiple perspectives going around
this just got interesting
The only thing i would think of would be an electrical fire- fire extinguisher.
For those unaware there are multiple types of extinguishers because certain sources can react badly to different methods.
For example liquid based fire needs a dry powder suppression.
Electrical fires need non-conductive suppression. (Server rooms actually use a gaseous suppressant that removes all the oxygen from a space rapidly. Since it's a gas it only needs to be vented out, rather than cleaned)
@@keepironman14 Careful, electric fire extinguishers typically are CO2, and that would deliver additional oxidizer to the reaction. Simple rule of thumb: You can't extinguish a battery fire, you can only contain and move it to a safe area.

Also, if the battery is plugged into a power source, secure the power source by any means necessary. If you gotta hit the breaker, do that.

I remember like a week ago my battery had expanded and i didn't know then i was in the dining room and it exploded thankfully only the table was damaged but it was on fire. The worst part was that i was alone
Had this happen to me once years ago when I tried replacing the battery of my iPhone 6s myself. The pull tabs ripped and I stupidly tried prying the battery out which caused it to bend too much and boom, fire. Fire went out within a couple of minutes and then took the phone to a repair shop. They just replaced the battery and camera and it was fully working again.
this man bent the battery and punctured the battery even when its dangerous

Thank god i saw this video i tought i should eat the battery when it starts to burn.
Can u maybe do a video about what to do if i fall from a high cliff?
Sand is good, but salt works well for fire suppression as well and may be easier to find inside a house. It has a lower melting point than sand, so it absorbs more energy via phase change without heating up as much if the fire is excessive. If the salt melts it also forms a better barrier against oxygen to smother fires. Of course you need a steel, cast iron, ceramic, or glass container to have any hope of containing molten salt safely if the fire is that bad...
Me : throws phone at neighbors house
While it is burning, Put it in your hand, always works

Another tool to my list.....a "bucket of sand"....never thought I would ever need one
Me: What do u do then ur done with batterys
Phone repair guru: BRUTALY MURDUR THEM
Lipo fires are self oxidising as such a standard extinguisher will typically not be effective. Once started there is very little you can do apart from the sand trick and preventing it catching anything else on fire. Ideally the bucket would be metal as the plastic ones can catch fire or melt. Also try not to inhale the smoke…
You can get battery boxes/ bags that were good for when I Ran a few Vape shops it was rather shocking how many people were running dangerous batteries(no it was never a way to upsell if your wraps torn I would try to just redo the wrap as there was spare in store it was more if its corroded the metal etc) but they're brilliant these boxes/ bags as they're relatively cheap for a make things safer/ easier to handle , if in worst case scenario you just chuck the whole bag in a box of Dirt / sand like demonstrated here while in the bag/box and cover it.
Keeping this in mind when i try to revive a dead battery in a couple of weeks (cells could be dead or too low in voltage for the charger to detect and work) If its overdepletion the usual method is sticking it on and off the charger but if something goes wrong I'll have sand on hand at the very least
Bro first thing you made me a begginer with changing screens in any phone
Damn, glad I always carry with me a tray of sand 24/7
A few years ago my battery almost got caught on fire while charging but luckily I have an electric items shop or whatever next to my house and they fixed my phone
I remember wen I first started replacing my own battery/screen first time I took off the glue with a plastic tool second time didn’t have a plastic tool so I used a box cutter razor. I was so unexperienced I thought it was freak accident then did some research and understood lmao pretty cool learning experience
Me: YEEEETs it in neighbours empty yard 😂😂😂
What to do when your battery catches fire-

Or

*Battery smokes*
Me: Hold on! I'll go to the beach. Don't catch on fire yet.
I was just charging my 16x18650 diy power brick. Thanks for the info
The way it works is that Oxygen causes the chemical reaction to spark a "fire", so the sand is to suffocate it, i have alot of drone (quadcopter) batteries and when they are about to die i always puncture them so the reaction starts then leave it in a bucket of saltwater or sand so it dies out.
Thank you
How do u know if we have enough time to go out side or out the front and get a bucket and chuck sand in there when soon as u get inside your house is literally on fire
Can i use dry loose soil, like those used in gardening, as an alternative?
Phone battery: exists
Prg: serial killer time
Link to where to get bucket of sand?
Yeah I keep a box of sand with me where ever I go
The fact that the guy in the glitchy ass video still had the battery plugged in.. 💀
That little bit of sand does nothing, also, a plastic container will just melt and that's it. Have a metal bucket on hand, filled with a good amount of sand, and some more sand to cover it up. Place it well outside on a non-combustible surface, and DON'T ADD WATER. That's essentially a makeshift version of what large scale operations do - a containment unit, and a dedicated safe spot to let the reaction take it course.
when still drone racing i would take bad cells of lipo polymer batteries i would not put one back thats not good they have to have the same internal resistance so i would just the battery for a other thing but would do the work outside
Fact:Fire fighters use different materials depending on the fire.Dirt, sand, and gravel for electrical and oil fires and Water for wood fires
When i was a tech we had a huge box full of sand, never had to use it while i worked there but we had some messed up batteries come through that totally could have exploded at any moment.
As an alternative to sand a completely metal dish can work as well - in a pinch an empty stainless steel pot + lid should contain most things but you might wanna consider buying a new one afterwards
I'm here because I got a call from u break I fix that my pixel 7 Pro caught fire. They said they didn't pierce it and that when they took it out it burst into flames. LiPo batteries should be respected guys, that's A LOT of potential energy, treat it like a small explosive
When I broke my last phone and pulled it out of it's case, I realized it was almost too hot to handle, and was worried a short may have started some kind of runaway thermal reaction. Since I was in a hurry to be somewhere, I left it in a large pot on the stove for most of the day, with someone home to respond if it did decide to spontaneously combust.
