the oldest in the Guinness world record book was 14 years, but that’s NOT common at all. if healthy and given a good life, they live a good 5-8 years!! :))
They live a lot longer than most pet rodents. Hamsters and rats you get maybe 2-3 years... a well kept, happy, healthy guinea pig can easily live to 5 if not twice as long.
For those saying he’s in pain or hates it. If he was uncomfortable he would fight to move. My guinea pig let’s me know he hates being on his back. I can rub his face and neck but he freaks out if I try to rub his booty lol
They usually don't like being pet on the booty because in the wild, more dominant piggies would mount less dominant piggies to show said dominance. So petting them there probably reminds them of that XD
Peta-anne D that is what my pig would do too. My other pig was okay with it. It's helpful to train them with treats too so that they won't protest when at the vet office.

@Legend of the Blue Macerator No guinea pigs are, there very sensitive creatures, I’m not upset about this video cuz they said they know how to handle there piggies, it’s not about people, it’s true most guinea pigs be in pain in certain positions or circumstances
Cool I have had mine for a while now and one has a habit of biting 😂😂 and the other is greedy, you might notice they get more use to you every day,you should try different things with them to see what they like🌷
This is the most precious thing! For those of u who think the guinea pig is laying down in pain its not! Why? Because its standing on its back feet! Get it right ppl! But I do understand how u thought thats what it was but its not. Plus I thinkvthe owner knows best for its piggy, bc if he or she didnt then they probably wouldnt have gotten one!
Our bet actually suggested putting our pigs on their backs to make it easier to give them medicine. Because they're not used to it they squirm if they are not also being held, but it never happened to them as babies like in the video.
You should never ever have them on their back. They've got extremely delicate spines and could get seriously hurt. And they are pray animals and the only time they're on their backs is when animals catch them. That's in their genes. As you probably hear he's not comfortable. That's not a happy sound. Now you know
Peter Star Mörker Stad It actually is a happy sound. I’ve owned a guinea pig for four years and I’m pretty sure the closest you’ve ever gotten to a Guinea pig is watching this video
Mythical Starrz / Maybe research more? Some guinea pigs make that sound out of discomfort and annoyance, but it can also be a happy sound, so it could be either.
I wasn't suppose to answer but I feel I need to clarify one thing. I've had 4 guinea pigs and my girlfriend works with animals everyday so I know some things. If you read up on things you'll see I'm right. Their spines are fragile and can be damaged if you hold them like that. But if you want to take the chance and perhaps torture an animal it's your choice. I just say I wouldn't do it. Good luck in your endeavours
Peter Star Mörker Stad my last piggie had some kind of neurological disorder, the vets didn't know what it was, but she would roll over on occasion or fall back in my arms to have her belly pet. She couldn't squeak for whatever reason either, but was very communicative with her body language. She was a very strange girl. The other three I had, never did anything like this. Vets will often times hold them at an angle to check out their stomachs or genitalia. Faith did a lot of weird things, however.
I agree but to cut their nails you make them sit up with their back to your stomach and to tell the gender of a piggy you have to flip them over? Also a lot of guinea pigs have different sounds to mean different things. No guinea pigs do exactly the same sounds so you just have to learn all their individual sounds. Some sounds have defined meanings but others depend on the pig. I also agree the guinea pig was making a sound that usually means discomfort but that could also mean the pig is happy depending on the piggy. The last thing is that it does not look like the pig is on its back but actually standing up (which is fine for pigs to do) at a 90 degree angle.
GracesPiggies If you look up "do guinea pigs sounds depend on the guinea pig" it says the sounds are different with each pig. My three piggies make that noise when they are happy or excited.
I don't know how much u know about guinea pigs, but I know for a fact that, thats not a good noise that her piggie was making. Also guinea pigs should not be on their back like that either.
GracesPiggies I have THREE guinea pigs so I think I know a lot about guinea pigs. Yes, the guinea pig could be in discomfort but you can't tell since different guinea pig noises mean different things for different piggies. Also it looks the piggy is standing up (at a 90 degree angle) NOT on it's back. If you look up "do guinea pigs noises depend on the guinea pig, you will see that I am right. You should know this since you have many guinea pigs?
I'm almost sure she is crying in fear because a happy and calm pig would purr, not squeak. And secondly, the pig turned on its back thinks it will be eaten by a predator.
You got those mixed up actually, happy piggies squeak and if they're in pain the squeak turns into a whimper. A purring piggy is giving you a warning because they're being touched somewhere they don't like (their lower backs) or will start fights with other piggies. The only way for guinea pigs to purr happily is if they had dental issues in the past that made squeaking difficult. Edit: I remembered the correct name for this squeaking sound and it's called chutting.
Ok, internet expert is here. Case closed. We've finally got the definitive answer. Thank you. You are amazing. You make my life complete. I'm getting hard right now.
I watched a guinea pig video before this and I am happy to say atleast someone included the incessant squeaking that I humbly asked for. Give him a piano, he need to play!
That is one relaxed Guinea pig! Usually they’re very reluctant to lay on their backs.
Wait for what?? I was looking forward to seeing him squeek real loud
Your guinea pig Is the cutest thing ever!
GUYS THE PIGGO IS FINE AND HAPPY. They can easily move or squeak if they arent
Agreed
that's the most adorable pig i've ever seen :)
Awww remind me of my piggies 😭❤️
May your piggies rest in peace
This little piggie went “wheep wheep wheep!” all the way home cause they knew they were coming home to some scritches.
Whoever disliked this doesn’t have a soul
The dislikes are from jealous Guinea pigs :D
@@Vexarax And corona virus
ohhh so cute I used to own 9 I loved them and miss mine dearly..
Post a still image of any animal. Expect 20% of people to insist that it's suffering.
GhengisJohn ain’t that the truth
@Legend of the Blue Macerator No guinea pigs are, there very sensitive creatures, I’m not upset about this video cuz they said they know how to handle there piggies, it’s not about people, it’s true most guinea pigs be in pain in certain positions or circumstances
Because people wanna act like they know everything and how better they r than others
She is so cute!
I have a ginniea pig just the same color as yours and my ginniea pig name is Cookie! Ginniea Pig are one of the Cuddlest animals

QuadraX Launchpadder R.I.P.
I'm so sorry. I was completely heartbroken when my guinea pig Cookie died. :(
wow your guinea pig must be so comfortable to do that
So cute
Awwwww is she an abby? This is the super cutest thing I've seen... but all piggies are cute
Cute baby, these sounds almost sounds like giggles :D such a happy piggie
OMG SO TUTE
Our bet actually suggested putting our pigs on their backs to make it easier to give them medicine. Because they're not used to it they squirm if they are not also being held, but it never happened to them as babies like in the video.
Yo tengo 25 cuyos y 3 hembarasadas😱😱😱😱
DANIELA BARRÓN GUTIERRÈS shut the fuck u
Damn, eres de Peru?
Our big ginger piggie will happily let you flip him on his back and tickle his belly
You should never ever have them on their back. They've got extremely delicate spines and could get seriously hurt. And they are pray animals and the only time they're on their backs is when animals catch them. That's in their genes. As you probably hear he's not comfortable. That's not a happy sound. Now you know
Peter Star Mörker Stad
It actually is a happy sound.
The last thing is that it does not look like the pig is on its back but actually standing up (which is fine for pigs to do) at a 90 degree angle.
the only time recommended videos represented me right
it sounds like he is in discomfort...
Sounds depend on different piggies. It could mean they are in discomfort or happy depending on the pig.
I don't think so.
I've been around guinea pigs alot. If they don't like something, they'll get up and leave. This pig is fine.
I'm getting hard right now.
that purring is actually saying she likes that :-)
People are so stupid. He’s clearly fine. Such a cute little guy!
I watched a guinea pig video before this and I am happy to say atleast someone included the incessant squeaking that I humbly asked for.
(Also, I saw on a comment that people are going at Piggy Gins for "hateful actions towards guinea pig, so this is as far as I scroll. Don't want to ruin the moment.)
Wait for what? The squeaks? He was doing that the entire time.
That Guinea pig is having a good life
My guinea pig would bite my finger off if I did this.. She HATES her stomach touched 😅
I wish my pig trusted me as much as yours trusts you
Omg 😳 my guinea pig also started squeaking and purring!!
I have a pig like this, she always wants to be underneath something and falls asleep.
so cute. i dont think our guinea pigs would of let us do that. my guinea pig used to make a little noise if i was holding/petting him and he had to go to the bathroom. he didnt want to poop on my shirt.
wow, your guinea pig has such white pearly teeth
just precious!!!!!!!! :) that little mouth & nose are so soft & sweet & cute. I sure miss my 2 pigs.
so CUTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
That’s one chilled piggie
This pig is fine. I have a pig who actually likes being in this position. But then again, the more they look and move like capybaras, the more comfortable they are like this so I understand why mine likes it.
Guinea pigs usually don't like being on their backs but this pig seems to not mind
It's instinct since their stomach is vulnerable and they don't understand that they are safe with you so they try to stay on their feet
Aww that is the most common cuteness guinea pig
