currently driving a MG4. I think as a small city run around car, to/from work and drop/pick up kids, a 4.4m car is more than big enough. Will keep a keen eye on the Zeekr X coming to Australia.
27.5k euro in China but starts at 42k in Holland... crazy price difference. For 42k, you can certainly look at other brands. It's also one reason why I didn't get a BYD Seal since it was a whopping 55k euros.
Any non-high-end cars in China will be way cheaper than in Holland because of competition and sales quantity. A brand new Toyota RAV4 hybrid starts at 27k euro in China but 47k in Holland. You can get a brand new VW ID.3 from 14k euro in China or 40k in Holland.
@@JerryPanandCars Antwerp, Rotterdam and Hamburg ports are filled with hundreds of thousands of vehicles yet prices don't seem to drop. Hi Jerry , thanks for doing this quite comprehensive review. I would be really surprised if Australia will get the same model delivered, we will most likely get a dumbed and dulled down version with no sliding centre display. The rear electric seat lift will probably go too as the pet can press the button with their paw or buttock and squash themselves into the afterlife. The buttons under the airbag appears to be a bad design as well as the tailgate door open button. It is a ballsy and interesting model though.
Thanks for the support! Yes, I doubt NZ & AU will get all these features but it shows what Zeekr can do. Your take on the pet button is very interesting. I would never thought about that. Though I believe it is quite hard to find or push the button if the rear door is shut.
@@JerryPanandCars I can almost do 400km on the dual motor one (depending on how much the AC needs to run, which is all the time in Shanghai) but that's from 100 to 0%. The worst is in the winter where is it barely 300, sometimes 250 but that's only doing very short trips in the city so most of the energy goes tp heating (range would be better doing highway at this point). As they say, YMMV.
I've seen plenty of China EV reviews on RUclips, Western developed countries usually is biased / negative against it, Australia seems to be the only exception ... I wonder why?? 🤔🤔🤔
The reviews from Europe and Oceania about Chinese cars are generally great. These are the places where Chinese EVs are actually seen on the streets. US reviews about Chinese cars are not. They are their own market

Zeekr might be owned by the Chinese, but it is essentially a European car designed mostly by Europeans. As such, the design is very coherent, of high quality and mature, unlike previous indigenous attempts at design. Similar story with BYD but also other non-Chinese Asian brands such as Kia. It’s talented Europeans behind the scenes, in Zeekrs case much of the design action actually happens in Gothenburg, Sweden. As such, I’d buy one if it were available. I do hope the Chinese do learn from the Western talent eventually and come up with some truly indigenous car designs that can also captivate the world market.
Same as NZ but it has to do with no local car manufactures. This is also not limited to Chinese brand. In China you can get a brand new RAV4 hybrid from AUD 37k or Corolla Cross Hybrid from AUD 22k.
@@JerryPanandCars we in OZ introduced the luxury car tax many years ago to protect local manufacturers ( it was simply an diversion to tax more) now that tax remains even local manufacturers have existed this country, what’s more that luxury bracket had hardly moved up to keep in line with prices of cars these days, which means most cars purchases are subject to this Bend Over 🤣
Not sure unfortunately. I wish I have this information. Some news said Zeekr is coming by late 2024. Pricing is also unknown. As this is more expensive than BYD Atto3 in China, I think it is safe to assume Zeekr X will be more expensive than Atto3 in AU and NZ.

This needs to come to the U.K. and kick the usual petrol, diesel brands in the nuts
Spot on. Those legacy automakers will be really panicking.

This is essentially a Volvo EX30?
Same platform and maybe drivetrain. Everything else is totally different though.
To be precise, the EX30 is essentially a Zeekr X
Mmmm so many things to go wrong pass .them handle cut outs look like they'd whistle when driving
Door handle? There is a cover inside that will close when it is on Drive.

A beautiful, perfect size and echo friendly premium EV. It's look similar to the BMW I3 without the big price tag and loads more techs.
The price in Australia will be critical to the success of this brand.
This will definitely need to be priced between $40-$45K
interior is so beautiful..
Beautiful interior and cool exterior. Thank you for sharing.

Shame the heads up display is not flush with dash, looks ugly having it lol like an after market idea
Thanks for the comment.
How many kilometres real world driving for single motor variant?
WLTP in Europe is rated 440km. Real world is probably 15% off. So 374km ish

For one Australia doesn't have a car manufacturer industry and also they already have the cars so they actually knew how they are.
Australia needs to reciprocate trade with China its biggest export market by far.

Does this have one pedal driving?
Yes, I believe so
No worries if it comes to Australia it will be too expensive for most people , because car makers know Aussie buyers get screwed.
This car retails from A$42K in China so it is not a CHEAP car by any definition.

The video did a good job of following the eyes, so nothing is missed. But it's a pity that the view look distorted similar to bird's eye view.
Thanks. I see what you mean. Yep, that is the wide-angle lense issue. I will try standard-angle next time for exterior shots.
