Hi Angie, Can I ask you a question? When I right click to the note that I just created, there is no option to make it a main note. You have any suggestion on that?
Dear @@angieginger I'm struggling to find a good way to do notes from not-pdf material (books and articles on paper) because I'm dealing with non-digital stuff. How to use better note extension in the workflow? I hope you will consider to do a small video about it :)
Hi @@freddodentro, please take a look at this website www.zotero.org/support/adding_items_to_zotero, which shows the various ways of adding items to Zotero. From my understanding, Zotero only supports digital files, pdf preferred. In your case, I would suggest using ebooks or scanning papers into a digital format to create notes or annotations if you want to use this app. I hope this answers your question.
Hi, thank you for the awesome video. I noticed you have the 'Progress' and 'Rating' column in your Zotero column. Could you tell me how I can add those?
Hi, when adding an annotation to notes, is it possible to automatically quote the highlighted text and place the note of the highlighted text in a new paragraph?
I accidentally deleted the user guide for the workflow of betternotes after installing it :( Idk what to do or how to get it back (the little sidebar that you showed which tells you how to use it)
Hi Yasmine, I took a look at my Zotero and I couldn't find it either. I assume the user guide gets deleted once you started creating notes. However, a detailed user guide and handbook can be found using this link, github.com/windingwind/zotero-better-notes?tab=readme-ov-file Hope its helpful.
hey thanks for sharing this add-on. i just want to ask how can i easily make notes out of 'one theme' instead of authors. any idea how shall make it work out? also. it would be awesome to know zotero tag add on that i saw in your video.
@@angieginger for example in my thesis i want to talk about the "effects of internet" so what can i do to see all of my notes under that category? i used your method but instead of authors i used my themes (other example: internet and gen z, history of internet, uses of internet). but then it was kind of complicated because i need to make "item note" for every highlighted text in every pdf. i hope u get what i mean. XD
@@MarieJane-f2z In that case, I suggest you create a mind map /structure for your thesis before proceeding with note-taking, then categorise your themes according to the branches of the mind map or structure of the thesis in the main note. You will still be able to drag the information you need under each theme, highlight and annotate. Hope this helps :)
Hi Angie, I'm new to using Better Notes. I would like to know wheter there is a place where I can see all the notes I have generated with Better Notes. That is to say, I want to create a note and define it as a main note, after that I want to link with it every pdf summary. However, I can't find where I can see ALL the main notes I have been generating, so I don't have to search through the endless list of bibliographic references. I hope you can help me, thank you!
Hi, I plan to post more videos about the use of Better Notes in the near future. In the meantime, please take a look at the user guide at zotero.yuque.com/staff-gkhviy/better-notes/biigg4 (You can use Google Translate to translate the webpage) and instructions on Github github.com/windingwind/zotero-better-notes#note-link to see if you can find your answers there. Best, Angie
@angieginger First of all, thank you for the video and sharing these links. As a non-chinese speaker, it would have been difficult for me to bump into the guide and I was struggling to get started with Better Notes without it. Maybe you could add these links to the description of the video!
Ok nice video, but this have tooo much friction. I personaly do Zotero-Obsidian cos of ZK method but if u want to se ideal workflow check Citavi reference menager I think u would like it. Btw nice trip to Japan :D
One of the most useful tutorial about Zotero in a log time. Thanks
Thank you soooo much, I am an overthinker and cant help but overcomplicate things. This will save me so much time and peace of mind.
Thanks for explaining Zotero note workspace clearly.

Great video. I hardly leave a comment on YT. But this is brilliant.
Very cool video about a very cool plugin. Zotero is definitely the way to go for studying and research. I love your accent 😊
Really helpful: thanks! I'd been merging my annotations manually

Hi Michael, you can download the plugin "Zotero style" from github for these features :)

The "Set Main Note" is not appearing in my menum how can it be? Interesting vid for the rest!
Sorry mate, I'm not sure about that. Try restarting the software or updating it to the latest version, and see if the problem can be solved.
@@angieginger I have the same issue with release 1.0.4. However, all you do is make a "New Workspace Note" and it does the same thing
Please tell me how to take a shot in your zotero when dragging the notes, I am using macbook pro
shift+command+3

Can I do all of this to my already highlighted pdfs in zotero?
Yes, you can :)
请问将文件中标黄部分拖到笔记中时,后面的引用只有(人姓,年份),请问在哪里可以修改成全名呢?谢谢
Hi Maggie,這方面我不太了解,如果自動添加後修改不了的話,建議手動添加一下。
What is the add-on to keep track of progress? Thank you!
Hi, it's called Zotero Style, which can be downloaded from GitHub
Thx! Very helpful video, btw.@@angieginger
What is the add-on for rating in your Zotero?
I cannot remember which add-on exactly, but I think it’s from Zotero styles.
