After a many year investigation the us mint found that employees were manufacturing rare mint errors, like quad struck dimes, off metals And the only way out with the errors was when they sent the forklifts out for service. They dropped them in the oil and drove them out. I know because I read May articles plus I used to collect error and sold a lot in 2002 when I got hard up. 70’s were the prime years

That's not true most of all are quarters around that time was struck over Canadian coins mine is circulated but has the same markings
