- Folk powerhouse pair The Small Glories are Cara Luft and JD Edwards, a dynamic new duo planted on the Canadian Prairies. At first glance few would peg them for a highly creative musical partnership. Yet these two veteran singer/songwriters have teamed up and are already building a buzz around their tight harmonies, authenticity and visceral performances. Luft is a JUNO Award winner, co-founder of folk trio The Wailin’ Jennys, and a touring road warrior. She has earned a solid reputation as an exciting live performer, accomplished guitarist, clawhammer banjo player and insightfully honest songwriter. Edwards has a voice that defies categorization, one that easily ranges from gentle and melodic to fierce and powerful, leaving listeners begging for more. Mix that with honest, passionate songwriting and it’s easy to see why he’s an enchanting musical powerhouse. Together as The Small Glories, Luft and Edwards are a tour de force, a case of 1 + 1 = 3.

We saw Small Glories in Richmond, VA recently and their sound is anything but small! Powerful tunes, great stage banter, and staggeringly good vocals.
I ran sound for that show (TinPan) - One of the most memorable shows I've ever done.
Like.... my freakin goodness... are you two f'real??!! Shivers still... 7 years later. Me Timbres!!!
These two go together like thunder and lightning.
Just caught- "small Glories" on All Art's Network, public television PBS New York City- I must say there Performance was GREAT, if I understand it right they're from Winnipeg Canada, there harmonies are excellent No Doubt about it, and her banjo-playing is excellence, not quite sure the name of her style of playing. looking forward to getting the CD..
Now, this is what I tuned in for ! WOW !!! Was introduced to The Small Glories today when my 2016 Banjo Babe's calendar/album arrived and knew after replaying, "Home", time after time that I needed to seek you out, have not been let down at all...
Tom Power played this one on Deep Roots several weeks back; glad I found it here and looking forward to Summerfolk 2016 in Owen Sound ON.
Love it Cara - pursue your visions to the ends of the earth and to Celtic Connection Sessions!
Beautiful!
Hey Cara, its Sam from the plane!
This song is awesome, keep up the good work!
Excellent!
Nice! Just saw The Small Glories doing it up big at the Brandon Folk Fest. The killer harmonies are impressive.
Whoa! the best i've heard in a long time! makes your skin tingle!
You guys are amazing. Just saw your show at Harrison Hot Springs - wonderful!
Outstanding!!
Opener of the set last night at the Kitchen Garden Cafe and my favourite track from the JD Edwards Band's Roads and Roads album! I love how this version is so different to the album version with the band and to the solo version JD performed at the last KGC concert back in 2014. The second song of the set, on the other hand, was one of the many great songs from Cara's Darlingford album - not sure, but I think it was Off My Mind. There was certainly no mistaking the opener of the second half of the gig - Bring 'Em All In.
You had me at end of the first verse.....
LOVE IT:)))) From Fernie.
Remarkable that these two have only been playing together for about 2 or 3 years (is that right?). I saw them together at a house concert and it was one of my most memorable music events in any venue.
Oh sooo happy that you like this, Delores! We've only been singing together for under a year. And we LOVE it!! :)
Nice!
You guys were excellent at Oran Mor tonight. Look forward to hearing much more of you in the future.

Hey Jan! Hopefully we'll get to Germany soon!!! Thinking of you and Lee xo

Hey Camille!! :) Long time no see! Thanks for the comment, here's hoping you can catch a live show one of these days (we'll be in the Okanagan in the spring!) xoxo
