Pre nanny cam. I was a toddler, sis was about 4-5. Our babysitter would wait until mom left and plop us in separate 2x2 floor tiles near the front door. No toys. No entertainment. If we left the tile, she'd drag us back. I, as a toddler, got dragged back enough that I had bruises all over my arms after a few days. When mom asked my sis what was going on, the beans were spilled as best as a young child can. Never went back. Later on, when I was about 4, a different babysitter would stick me in bed early in the day and leave me there in the darkened room for hours. Pretty much until mom came to pick me up. I learned how to play very quietly in the dark. Let's just say pre-k was a culture shock that I really enjoyed.

Almost ten years ago now, my siblings and I got a babysitter who was about 12 at the time. She still comes over to watch us sometimes when my parents are out late. She’s probably one of the best babysitters ever. When I broke my arm while she was there once, she just called her dad (who’s a doctor) to come help. She also saved my sister from getting a cracked skull once… yeah.. about that, my dog (who was a puppy then) pushed my sister down the stairs and our sitter caught her just before her head hit the railing. 👍👍

My babysitter was my mom's friend, she had her own daughter that was one or two years younger than me or something, we'll call her Jenna. For context, I was 5 at the time.
Jenna and I got along well, but one of the things we did as a game is that I'll pull her around by her hands while she basically lays like she's on a slipping slide in the living room.
When we got done from playing around, she went into the kitchen where her mom was cooking and I followed her into the small hall waiting for her.
All of a sudden her mom who's my babysitter comes into the small hall with Jenna's shirt up, revealing red lines all across her chest and belly while the poor girl sobs and I'm getting screamed into a corner in front of her.
For a lot of years in my childhood, I kept this whole thing a secret for years because I thought I was the one who made Jenna hurt and upset and the guilt was eating away at me, but remembering it as an adult, I'm just more confused what the hell happened in that kitchen.
My only guess is that Jenna was sore from the dragging, talked to her mom about it and then my babysitter just lost it on me thinking I knew better at 5? I dunno.
This fed into my trauma and fear of kids I have nowadays so kinda sucks, but not as much as it sucks for Jenna who had to live with her really.

Not our nannycam but my uncles.
We're Dutch and my uncle worked/works for an oil company that had him in different countries for extended periods.
Since he worked a lot he and his wife decided to hire a nanny to help with the children before they were of schoolgoing age.
Now, the Dutch have a condiment (appelstroop) that's basically boiled apples and sugar turned into a thick paste, you're supposed to smear it on bread.
(Some pair it with cheese or use it as an ingredient while cooking)
My uncle LOVES that stuff, so much so that he would take the maximum allowed amount in weight back with him whenever he flew from the Netherlands to say Dubai or Mumbai after Christmas visits or holidays back home.
He caught the nanny eating the stuff with a ladle.... and decided to put his precious stroop in the vault next to his passport and valuables so that he didn't have to share. Even with family.

Is it just me who have seen their dad's old footage of their babysitter's problem that got her fired and boyfriend arrested?
For context this is it: So My nan had 5 kids my uncle(D) my dad(J) my Aunt(C) Uncle(S) Aunt(K). My Aunt(C) was at a class about something, my Uncle(D) was out with friends, My dad(J) and Uncle(S) were upstairs, my Aunt(K) was a baby/toddler at the time so she was downstairs in her crib. Their babysitter would invite her boyfriend over so she would have someone to talk to while she looked after the kids. Now it was just a normal video camera so it would keep footage, it was hidden in the attic after this day and I found them when I was about 8, I was curious so I managed to watch it and I got *traumatized* from it hence why it was the last time they had a babysitter.
One day(the footage) the boyfriend was babysitting them since his girlfriend(actual babysitter) wasn't well, he got fed up because my Aunt(K) wouldn't shut up so he was shouting for her to shut up, My dad(J) and Uncle(S) came rushing down the stairs and stopped midway when the incident happened. The boyfriend ended up *LITERALLY MURDERING* her. My dad was the oldest home and immediately called the police and hospital, so they found her dead on the floor since the man had thrown her on the floor out her crib breaking her skull, and since baby skulls are so fragile she died. My nan got called by the hospital but was told she tripped so only my dad, Uncle(S), police and hospital knew the truth, but she absolutely lost it at him since she trusted him since he seemed like a nice guy but didn't watch her kids at all. He got arrested for the murder, the babysitter got fired for her boyfriends actions and because she wasn't actually very nice to any of the kids and wouldn't actually babysit properly(wouldn't watch over em, help em etc. So my dad was the one to feed them etc. since my oldest uncle is kinda a jerk so they just had sandwichs and my dad was the one to give my Aunt(K) her bottle n change her n everything). Only the police and Hospital got the video evidence since my dad and uncle wanted to catch him being a jerk to my Aunt(K) but got the mentioned footage from the stairs.
I am still traumatized and tried to ask my nan about my second Aunt(K) since I heard about her but never met her, but I always got told she was running around playing then tripped over the rug n smashed her head n didn't make, but my dad told me his side and then I found the tape so I knew who told the real story. I went to see her grave with my nan once and babies/toddlers get a small special headstone(at least over here) that I never knew about and loved it, I got to place my own flowers for her aswell.
I may be an empath(slightly different from a medium) and might be able to see her and it was disturbing at first since I didn't know then I figured out. I might of had her as an attachment and brought her home so now she protects my family. My dad(J) always believed in guardian angels and told me about 1-3 years ago that he thought it was her because I could've died myself during a seizure where I almost hit my head on a kitchen counter but didn't, I can secretly confirm for my dad that it was her since she is indeed a guardian angel/ghost but also has help from another ghost I call "Maiden" who carries her around which is sweet.
Am I the only one with that sort of babysitter story or am I the only one with a traumatizing babysitter story (┬┬﹏┬┬) I still wish I never found that, my dad found it a week after since we were cleaning the attic out and he destroyed it with a sledge hammer and let me have a go :D

The fitness nut drinking breast milk is quite likely true. Fitness nuts are far more likely to buy breast milk online, at least 5-10 years ago when there was a thing about how it would help repair damaged muscles faster, increase stamina, and bulk up your overall muscle mass, so for a while, it became the safe alternative to steroids, and there was a huge online market for it, which kept many new single mothers out of poverty. There was a TV show in the UK about it discussing that breast milk is more expensive than gold for hospitals to buy for NICU babies that need the immune boost that formula just can't give them. Many second or subsequent time mothers who are experienced breastfeeders, will actually express milk at the hospital before they leave with their new babies, to donate that vital nutrition to the NICU babies. Many NICU babies are tiny, so just 2oz of milk could feed 4 or more babies milk that could mean life or death. Mothers of premature babies often don't come into their milk for a long time (their bodies just don't realise it's time already), so they rely on donors.
This knowledge of how quickly breast milk can help a preemie baby is what fed into the gym bros drink milk, get big mentality.

@@Zulf85 If you, a family member, or a friend end up in the position where they or their partner could potentially donate milk (or colostrum if they produce enough after birth) in the first week after birth (when the milk is really rich in antibodies and calories), before they give birth, they can discuss it with their midwife that they would like to donate breast milk to the NICU and/or SCBU, and the midwife will usually make the arrangements. Then usually the day after giving birth, they'll check the amount of milk production, and if it's enough that it won't leave baby without, they'll provide an electronic breast pump for expressing milk.
In some countries, babies that can latch onto a breast (many preemies can't), that have been abandoned, mothers that have passed health checks can volunteer to breastfeed the babies as it's been proven that the physical contact of being held during breastfeeding can improve the outcomes for many babies, because it kickstarts the human bonding, which makes them thrive, and for want of a better way of putting it, can increase their will to live. Some places have now implemented baby bottle feeding volunteers that just snuggle, hold, bottle feed, and talk to the babies because the social interaction increases survivability and chances of thriving.

The Shi-Tzu story makes so much sense. I had one that was so lazy, but very smart, and would do anything to get food she wasn't supposed to have. We caught her a few times thinking we left, when we actually went to the bathroom. She scooted a dining room chair slightly out to jump on it and then climb up and on to the table to eat our dinner. She was so happy, but then looked like a deer in the headlights when we came back in because she thought we had left and forgot a delicious meal for her on the table. She'd do other things, but that was one she did a few times and so fast you'd think she jumped on the table from the ground, but we caught her on the chair trying to get up and knew then how she had gotten up there.

I watch my neighbors puppy during the week while they work and they have cameras everywhere. They upped my pay and told me they saw me running around the yard with the puppy every morning after I give him breakfast 😅 I love that puppy so much. I’m home alone a lot so I talk to puppy like he’s my little friend. I also spend extra time loving on their cats on the front porch when they’re there ❤
Another person I watched a dog for: they were at work and I was taking the dog out to potty. I hung out for a while and drank a few beers and started running around the backyard with him throwing the ball and chasing him. The full shebang. She came home early and just watched me for 30 minutes doing this smiling.

We didn't witness it, but we once had a huge softie of a great dane mix. Still miss that pupper. Anyway, one day we left him asleep in the kitchen after he had some surgery to remove a growth (luckily benign). There were also some chocolate muffins (about 6 IIRC) from some event earlier in time. When we came back home, this pup had gotten into the flower and it was EVERYWHERE and the muffins were gone. Keep in mind we were away for most of the day, so there was the real possibility of him getting sick from those muffins while we were out. Nope, he didn't even puke a single time. Just went about his loopy pain med bliss filled existence, very happy to see us. He died years later, last year actually, when he and our lab were set upon by a swarm of bees. As were on a farm now, we couldn't reach a vet in time. It must have been THOUSANDS of bee stings😢

Infuriates me how they would NOT report someone for stealing from them. You should do it out of habit whenever you see it, not to be affected by any outside circumstances. I went to juvie for stealing (illegally made alcohol) (from a moonshiner ring). If my life can be permenantly changed because I robbed outlaws of something they shouldn't even have someone else should get to enjoy going to prison for stealing silverware.

Breast milk DOES have health benefits, but I haven't heard of any adults drinking it outside of fetishes or for medical reasons (like helping their wife with clogged ducts).
