    The vehicles that take a million bullets to destroy you have to ram them off the road because they're armored and you can't kill em by shooting them.

    HQ: OK, we need you to drive this weapons truck and meet our agent's car on the road so he can receive the extra weapons that he needs.
    Agent: Yes sir, it will be my honor!
    HQ: When you get close to the spy, slow down and he'll blow up the truck releasing the weapon, which he will then scoop up.
    Agent: Uh... And what happens to me?
    HQ: You'll get a very nice plaque on the wall of heroes.
    Agent: Yeah, I'm not so sure I like this plan.

    Good on you, we're all pretty passionate about this landmark title. ;) It's funny to think the James Bond estate passed on this back then because the Bond games that came out in this time period weren't great. I would have chased Gomez down to make sure the deal didn't fall through.
    I can't think of one but too bad there wasn't some kind of generic steering wheel across all the platforms with a DB-9 port and that style of pinout, 2600/7800/VIC-20/C64... Nes port is solid enough, fairly accurate. Bad GBA port strikes again, that really shouldn't be possible. :P

    • @RetroCore
      @RetroCore  5 лет назад

      I try not to get in to the clones simply because they're not official ports. Also, if I did start adding clones people would expect them all the time and that would take way too much work for a weekly show. It's also very likely that I'd miss many clones due to not knowing all games across all formats.
      I do sometimes cover unofficial makes if they are famous enough such as the Mappy games for the X68000 that were featured on the Mappy video. This is only because I knew of them and that they are often mistaken as official ports.

    Nice job finding some more but I do have to wonder home much time is given to each one as for example the Atari 8bit version has two difficulty levels to some extent and getting in to the truck is extremely easy so I do have to ask what controls are you using. The Atari sticks were just that and people brought up on them realised that the NES style button pads just did not work in the same way. It is hard to say how. Atari sticks really did encourage the owner to use force on the poor things and you used the whole hand rather than just the thumb. Perhaps someone else can explain what made them so different and how this was reflected in the game design. To my mind the C64 version was better technically and for once the dull as dishwater colours were not a handicap but the scrolling just seems so much slower.

    • @RetroCore
      @RetroCore  5 лет назад +1

      Oh, I know the Atrai sticks well. They were horrible. Back then it was either one extreme or another. Sticks so stiff your wrist hurt after 20 minutes or sticks so loose they felt as if they were broken. It was quite rare to find a nice controler before consoles from Japan arrived. Saying that, the MSX had nice pads though.
      For this video I was using either a wired Xbox 360 pad or an 8bit do pad.
