Nice video, rookie here. Watching videos to try and learn stuff. Waiting for my Garrett AT Pro to come in the mail along with my prospecting equipment. No hurry for the moment, still winter here in Michigan. Spent some time in Georgia in the 90's when I was in the Army at FT. Stewart. Nice state. Take care, Ken
I've got to say nice clean up! Try this, build your dammit higher, so the end of your box is out of the water and don't let the tailings build up, always keep the end out of the water and clear. It will keep the exchange flowing better with out any build up. And will capture more gold.
Yeah, I know I'm supposed to do the things you said I just got a little lazy with it. The folding backpack sluice can be really difficult to set up perfectly. I can never get the areas where it folds to stay completely flat. I only use that sluice when I absolutely have to backpack in somewhere.
OK I see, I got the full 53" and drilled a couple of holes on the sides where the water don't flow, and tie it into my backpack. I also remove the flange and put it in my backpack against my back to haul it wherever. It works pretty well, just watch out for tree branches when you duck under them, it kinda stops you in your tracks.
Great job! If you take your Gold Hog mini sluice and are allowed to run the power pig on a battery, you can always have perfect flow - the lithium battery I got for mine only weighs 3 lbs so it’s easy to backpack in.
I didn't buy the power pig for the mini sluice because I already have it for the full-size gold hog sluice but I love that thing. I may need to get it now that you say it because I could theoretically backpack in with that small battery.
In Georgia you can't use a sluice on Federal or State land for sure. Outside that it's up to the property owner. No commercial mining is allowed without a permit but this is a hobby.
So this was on private property? Earlier comment you mentioned that folks know about the spot, but yall keep it on the down low. That to me sounds like Federal or State property. Which is it?
Not that I have any experience, "yet!", But I think it's cool to see how your cleanups got better and better over this first year....I'm down here in the damn armpit of South ga and there's not nearly as much to do here as there is up in the mountains....I'm gonna move up there one of these days though. Keep grinding out that gold my man, later.
The laws in Georgia are pretty restrictive in parks and national forests. They are pan and shovel only in some places and other places don't allow any gold panning at all. On private property it's a different story. Check the laws carefully.
@@goldiswhereyoufindit yeah everything i read said dont cross property lines and pan and shovel only even in Nat. forrest. I remember in highschool running a sluice everywhere and found quite a bit.
I don't even go to the national forest for the most part because you can't even use a full length shovel. You can only use a hand shovel. Private property is really the best way to go. Recruit property owners on Facebook lol. Also, municipalities and counties can make their own rules for their public parks.
Youngin, a bit of advice from an old crumudgeon ;) Get a Garrett super sluice gold pan and leave the sluice boxes at home. All and I mean all, sluices are extremely lossy in fine gold. To run enough water for it to clear, you sweep about 85% of the ultra fine gold out!!! A sluice only captures about 15%!!! A gold pan will capture 100% if you don't toss it out! The result is that you have to run 6 times more material through a sluice to get the same amount that you get with the pan!!! That's right, they lied to you!!! Running more material in a sluice will NOT give you more gold!!!! Instead, pan down just to the black sand and stop. Do NOT finish pan because you will throw fine gold out! Take those concentrates home and slow pan those. Your take will quadruple in that same spot!!! Your "Nut" should be 100 pans a day!! Now that is tough and will take you about 8 hours if you fight it like fire. But a 40 hour week of that will produce about an ounce, not tenths of a gram!!! Try just half that. Run 50 pans. That should take you about 5 or 6 hours of very hard work. (ten to 12 pans an hour) After cleanup you will find you need bigger bottles ;) You will also sell that sluice or give it away and you will never own another one ;)
I have come to the same conclusion. Speed/Production pan with my Super Sluice and take all the black sand home. This last weekend I got .16 in 15 pans. My pans are bigger than most though because I classify 4 LARGE shovel fulls for each pan. It took me longer than you say because I carefully rolled back every pan so I could check the speck count. Once I identify the richest pay streak I'll do 100 pans like you say. My record out there is .57g and I intend to beat that but need to prospect carefully to pull it off.
It's definitely mercury because it smears. It's amalgamated with flower gold. However there is some grey colored heavy sand that is really hard to separate. It could be platinum. It's known to occur in that deposit in mindat.org
@@goldiswhereyoufindit yes I’m new to your channel & of course absolutely I did watch the rest. Also glad to see you got down with some gold from the earth. The music wasn’t my brand which is fine n all just wasn’t expecting it to last that long. I know most people use music for duration in videos it was just too loud maybe. Good haul tho.
That was so nice to see all that gold thank bud for sharing
Just amazing day out fam. What a blast. Keep on having fun getting that au and living the dream fam. Gold Squad Out!!!

What Creek is that on?

The years isn't over. Keep at it buddy.
Nice, a great day on the creek. Keep up the great videos. Happy hunting
Try to create a V with the top of the sluice where the water is coming in to have a even flow. Thats why it was piling up a tad on the right
I put an extra wingnut and bolt in the feeding shoot to stop movement, helps
What a beautiful location to spend time going after the gold.

Over a half gram is awesome! You need to go back there again.
Already did today lol.
Hey what part of Ga do you live in? Im from Ga also.
I mostly dig in lumpkin, white, hall, cherokee and gwinnett counties
I see a lot of gold looking pieces when I dig but just
For kicks how do I know if ots gold or maca
Only you know where you were here bro, but you really need to pay it another visit, very nice lift.
Correct. Only I know where I am here, except for all the other people that know. We keep this one on the down low.
What river or creek is that?

Small gold, but it sure made up in numbers. 🤘🍻✨️
Looks like you had a good day.
That's a nice area 👌
Well done man

Hell brother, just be like those cats on Gold Rush and set your goal for 20 ounces 😅
I wish! The ground here just isn't good enough to dig 20 ounces with a shovel in less than 20 years.
Good, nice gold.
Nice spot Good looking Gold 😎👍💯🇺🇲 Could be Silver or Platinum they all run together in certain deposits 🤠
