I like how Mike brings up the controversial topics and discusses them. He is a realist and doesn’t shy away from discussion, we hate roundup but most of the food grown in other countries and our own country is using herbicides. You have to pay for the labor if you don’t want to use herbicides.
Mike's nursery is beautiful and he is a wonderful guy. My daughter and I went to pick up some fruits he was selling. He took the time to show us arround and even let us taste a couple of other fruits he grows in his trees. I will definitely get back to buy a couple of his trees. Way to go Mike! 🥭❤🌳
I’ve been speaking with a guy from California, his dad had a backyard full of Cherimoya for years, his dad now has Parkinson’s, I asked him if he thought it was caused by overconsumption of Cherimoya, he thought it was a possibility, he said he estimated his father would consume 500+ Cherimoyas a year.
I’m well past watching these videos for the avocados. Years ago I would watch the Joe Rogan podcast because he had a lot of cool friends. What I like about your RUclips channel is all the cool and interesting and a little bit quirky people that you have in the world that you meet. It seems like a lot of fun the things that you’re doing.
Disappointing about the roundup. there are better ways, Permaculture practices, chops and drop, like was suggested plant other edible crops in-between the trees. crowd out the weeds with something like sweet potato vines. Boomers have really destroyed this planet, I hate that uneducated boomer mentality. He could also just let the native plants grow, let it be food and habitat for native species. All those "weeds" are building soil structure. A forest takes care of itself, just make a food forest. Look up the science done by Dr. Elaine Ingham or Bill Mollison. Also people should become aware of Epigenetics and the long term effects of round up, Dr. Zach Bush has a few great interviews on the topic.

One point for Mike about American Persimmon, the northern persimmons are larger and have 90 chromosomes. Southern Persimmons are 60 chromosome trees (they should be separate species in my opinion) Some southern American persimmons should be able to fruit in south Florida but not many of the named cultivars are from southern persimmons.
Great place to get fruit trees and talk to mike. He's a great guy.
I really like his place and the info you guys are sharing. I wouldn't purchase fruit from someone spraying roundup.
Or trees...
The whole energy of the video changed as soon as the round up came out😳
Another awesome video! You are the #1 "Tropical Fruit Dude" on the internet!
How awesome that Mike is grafting on top of a graft for long term compatibility.

Will the tree not grow with other plants all around? Or is that not better for the tree?

Wow, but 500 cherimoya a year, that's a lot. But year it can be an issue. Any way I can get in touch with the guy or his dad?
Between Palm City and Homestead, we are blessed to live in between tropical fruit tree abundance ! Looking forward to a visit up north!
Roundup is horrible
