Absolutely Fantastic, I gave "River Joni Mitchell guitar cover" a search on RUclips as field research because I have been thinking about arranging a version of the song for myself, I wasn't expecting much but that absolutely blew me away, It was an amazing rendition. Really makes me wonder if there is much point in me giving it a go. 😂

On the weather network, yesterday, there was an image/story a guy skating down an ice covered country road... wonder if Joni happened to see something like that in her time, her song would have been titled 'Road' ? ;-) ... where perhaps she would have weaved in a simple simile of how rare ( like a distant love ) that is? ... and maybe she'd be skating towards it - not away from it :-). Hey? I was just thinking that you can go back and repost all your high numbered viewed songs (without an intro or outro), so fans can create a playlist for shuffle or repeat. I am so nervous to learn this song. It's not considered a "boy" song. I could so do this. Is there a gender anywhere in this song? Joni rocks.
Very nice -- "nice" being the word. But I think you could do it a LOT BETTER if you let go into the song. You were performing it; being a bit too conscious of what you were doing; you were TRYING to sound like you wanted to sound, instead of letting the song turn out as it wanted to turn out from you. A subtle point. Ya gotta let Joni's songs SING YOU. Just jet go, loose yourself completely in the song. Don't try to sing it.
Maybe pre-record the guitar, then overdub your vocals, sung alone. That way you won't tend to sing 100% right on the beat as you strum ... which, imo, is limiting your vocal freedom/improv..
