How have I never heard this? I've been listening to this genre for 20 years now. This just popped up while I was listening to other bands and I thought I was listening to a Sleep B-side I hadn't been aware of until I looked at the screen. I love it
What a tone! They use Sunn and orange amps,Les Pauls and G# tuning. Similar to Sleeps dopesmoker tone except heavier and better. Sounds less muddy and has way more harmonic overtones, body and color saturation. Also has this sort of unique, low and hi midrange focused texture. It grinds up speaker cones and cuts thru a mix like a razorblade sledge hammer???.......
Ferro fluid cooled, Piezo tweets, a different driver for every octave may be the only way to play this live or on stereo to not kill the cones and rip the ribbons. Gritty!!
@ArmandKarlsen Just stack a bunch of 4x12s lol. I got myself a Fender Super Sonic for my Stoner Rock stuff but its combo so when i hook it up on a big cabinet it looks hella funny since its a reg amp ontop of a cab
