Hello everyone. I'm working on a 2014 Chevrolet Impala lt, 3.6 l. I found engine oil in the coolant system. The engine oil system is clean, just engine oil. Any other idea besides the head gasket ?
The pressure on the oil side is greater than the pressure on the coolant side, so it's possible for oil to leak into the cooling system without coolant getting into the oil. It's the same for combustion pressure. A chemical head gasket test should tell you if the gasket has failed.
Thanks for this video. My son has a 2014 Equinox V6, and he had to have a remanufactured engine installed. So, to me, the question is: Why should you have to replace an engine in this very popular American SUV? I'll NEVER buy a GM product due to this faulty engineering.
These v6's and the 3.0s have a triple chain timing setup that stretches and people don't do the timing chain maintenance and they go out of time and blow up. They're not the only engine gm messed up with but there are only a few.
Going to attempt on the 09 Acadia. Thanks a ton!
Good job thanks for sharing.
I'm doing a 2012 terrain with a 3.0
How many bell housing bolts did you have, did you have to disconnect the transfer case?
Did you do the job?

Can anybody tell me where the bleeder valve is to the coolant?
There isn’t one, it’s suppose to be able to self bleed
Did you take the awd case out?
I don’t think it’s required
Don’t bother trying that if the engine is seized, you’ll never be able to disconnect the torque converter.
I was wondering the same thing. So there isn't enough clearance on the passenger side to slide it off with the torque converter still attached?

Good! Wouldn’t want someone like you owning one of God Mechanical Creations! ;)
That really depends on what was wrong with the original engine.
