The 23rd marks one year since my 17 year old nephews loss to the fight of depression. This song is one of the go to songs to remember everything about the kid. Excellent cover and to anyone that fights depression please know you're not alone no matter how down you get. ♥️
This new year's day will be 10 years since my best friend lost his battle as well. I never know what to say in these situations because I myself never liked being told "sorry for your loss". But I hurt for you and your family having had to go through the loss of someone so young, having gone through it myself. Remember to always share the memories, and know that while we share the pain with loved ones over a soul no longer with us, know that it is a soul set free of a torn mind. Depression is a lot different than most people who have never had it can imagine. As deeply saddening as it may be to consider, I hope it finds you comfort in knowing that his pain has ended. As cliche as it sounds, it does get easier to accept with time.

@@berndgerlach3731 I have found that sometimes with depression it can be easier to find comfort from kind strangers than it is to ask for help from those we're afraid to hurt or be judged by. Often part of the disease I suppose. If ever you need to talk, I will listen.

They took a sad song about suicide and transformed it into a song about to the strength to over come your hardships with the more uplifting tones and the burst of light. This song is about contemplating/attempting/committing suicide. Mark’s voice when he sings this song is somewhat monotonous and melancholy-like, like he’s in a haze and just going through the motions of life. In this video, the vocals were good, but I didn’t feel a connection to the lyrics through them, possibly because some of the singer’s body language and facial expressions didn’t go with the lyrics at all. It shouldn’t look like you’re trying too hard to sing and put emotion into these lyrics when you sing them. Less is more in this case.

Okay, Blink is my favorite band ever, maybe tied with Zeppelin. This cover is great. Fuck what everyone else is saying. It's art, sing and play however you want.
As a song without the original existing this is great but it feels like the electric guitar is just to toned down and there isn't the same emotion and meaning as the original.
I feel this is over produced. Enema of the State was a very raw, emotional sounding record thanks to the late great Jerry Finn. This cover doesn’t give me any of those feelings.
The song was actually written in an attempt to be uplifting and with the message that it can get better. The saddest sounding parts of the song are at the beginning and even in the blink 182 version the song gets louder and the sound gets overall lighter as it progresses. The point was that even though you start in a really dark place you can get better in time. That being said its not immediately obvious and I had to do research to figure that stuff out. But given that I thought they did a decent job

The sound is pretty on point with the message of the song. So what if she dances around? She's singing to an upbeat song

You guys are killing it, holy shit. Like the guitars, the vocals, bass and drums too. Haven't heard many covers of Blink 182 in my life but wow. Color me impressed.
I also have done covers of this song. Blink 182, Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Avril Lavigne, Green Day, Sun 41, and you guys have helped me get through so much. Those bands got me through high school and now at 32 I’m going through health issues and depression and this is getting me through it. Thank you so much. I love you guys and your covers.

Mark’s voice when he sings this song is somewhat monotonous and melancholy-like, like he’s in a haze and just going through the motions of life.
In this video, the vocals were good, but I didn’t feel a connection to the lyrics through them, possibly because some of the singer’s body language and facial expressions didn’t go with the lyrics at all. It shouldn’t look like you’re trying too hard to sing and put emotion into these lyrics when you sing them. Less is more in this case.

As a song without the original existing this is great but it feels like the electric guitar is just to toned down and there isn't the same emotion and meaning as the original.
I was thinking the same thing. It's hard to cover Blink for a number of reasons though, Travis Barker is a maniac on the drums, just to name one.

I feel this is over produced. Enema of the State was a very raw, emotional sounding record thanks to the late great Jerry Finn. This cover doesn’t give me any of those feelings.

The song was actually written in an attempt to be uplifting and with the message that it can get better. The saddest sounding parts of the song are at the beginning and even in the blink 182 version the song gets louder and the sound gets overall lighter as it progresses. The point was that even though you start in a really dark place you can get better in time. That being said its not immediately obvious and I had to do research to figure that stuff out. But given that I thought they did a decent job

The sound is pretty on point with the message of the song. So what if she dances around? She's singing to an upbeat song
