Inside that drawer are gemstones, hinting Jinx would recreate the teleporter and meet Ekko and possibly her dead sister Vi once again. Jinx allegedly died in their Universe so... they need a new one 😂 - another theory
Ekko is partying while Jayce is learning that everything really is his fault. Gotta respect his will to survive though. I’d have been dead in three minutes and that’s being generous. Why was it seeing Ekko reuniting with Benzo that made me cry? This poor boy. Honestly Ekko is best boy. He deserves nothing but love and happiness.
The implication behind all the little changes that were needed to make that version of reality are lovely, and I love how they fit right in line with the shows constant theme of how choice and consequence define so much. It's the polar opposite of the issue with so many of the recent multiverse stories; It solidifies just how important our actions truly are. Even the smaller ones. Silco and Vander reconcile, Shimmer is never invented, Vi tragically dies but the kids get caught so no crackdown had to happen, and our Heimer who had experienced the prime realities tragedies fulfills his series arc by finally taking an active role in helping Zaun rather than just passively observing, which made the conditions in Undercity better so that the powder keg of S1 didn't exist. I think its also possible that Jayce is alive but he and Viktor, because the city itself was in better shape and Heimer was more active in helping, just didn't feel as driven for HexTech specifically. HexTech, even for Jayce, was always first and foremost a means to the end of helping people and not the end itself. It's why the final straw in S1 for Jayce to force Heimer out was Heimers lack of any plan to even start addressing the suffering in the city. Jayce felt so driven to achieve HexTech because it was the only answer he could see and no one else was giving any alternatives. A dozen and more different choices made, big and small, create a world so much better. I also think its somberly beautiful that Ekko is never even really tempted to stay here as he understands this isn't his world. This worlds Ekko is a different person whose lived a different life and too much has happened to Prime Ekko for him to just go along with it no matter how much he might want too. Our experiences define so much of who we are, another thing many multiverse stories seem to misunderstand, and without them we are not ourselves. The line of him asking Powder to just pretend with him for a little while is such a great moment for that, recognizing the part of him that could have been this but knowing it can't be more than a moment of playing pretend.
It's a little victory but I fully expected Ekko leaving this reality to erase the original one that was already there. Happy they made it clear that he did get to stay there with Powder and Benzo.
I think "our" realitys ekko was just like a softupdate on the same hardware kinda thing. Thats also accentuated by the fact that powder does hide away the pendant that "our" ekko gave her, akknowledging that she met another self of her loved one when she saw "her realities ekko" in her arms and "our reality ekko" in his usual outfit with the z-drive in front of her. Her closing the drawer is paralel to closing this short chapter with "our" ekko.
This. This episode really healed the pain I got from the last episode of act 2, which really hit me _hard._ Seeing this world where things might not be perfect (namely Vi's death), but they're better, and then seeing it _stay_ that way really helped me not feel so downtrodden about how act 2 ended.
I love how the alternative reality isn’t just one big change from the other… it’s a bunch of little changes. Silco found Vander’s letter and they reconciled instead of Silco attacking him, Vi getting caught in the hexcore explosion (and probably Jayce did too) which makes Powder and Piltover just not mess with hextech stuff because they know it could kill, Vander’s deal with Greyson and there being no hextech giving Zaun the chance to rise up without a revolution because Piltover couldn’t oppress Zaun even more… there’s probably more we don’t know because Ekko didn’t explore everywhere or know about certain things.
Also! Since Heimerdinger got there so much earlier than Ekko he was still on the council. But this time he made sure to make decisions that would benefit Zaun and not only Piltover. That plus the reunion with Silco and Vander did loads for the undercity!
@@XOISHTARWell, another way Jayce could be dead was if, deterred by the death of a Zaunite child, Victor was not there to stop Jayce from punching in his own ticket.
@relic5752 very true… especially if season one act one Viktor saw Jayce arguing for it seemingly without regard for the danger (as he was in the original show) or the fact a child died (particularly a Zaunite one because it would seem like Jayce would be another Pilty treating Zuanites as expendable)
@@XOISHTAR Nothing will have happened to her. Jayce will not have died in the explosion either. He probably committed suicide after being banished. This time Viktor did not save him because Powder took all the crystals, so the research was not interesting for him.

It’s a different kind of sadness realizing that the life and the happiness you’ve always wanted was never meant for you and you don’t belong there. A line I heard once was “God will test you by giving you everything you’ve ever wanted, to see if you make the right choice”. Ekko made the right choice🫡
8:33 is literally what they want you to feel - bittersweet (plus the song playing in the background is perfect for the emotions you’re feeling) truly a beautiful and sad moment 😇
This is my favorite episode. It was (almost) everything I asked for. A happy powder, Mylo and Claggor as adults, Ekko and Benzo getting a since moment together 🥹, Vander and Silco make up! AND TIMEBOMB!! 💥 It was so amazing, even if it wasn't our reality it was everything I could've asked for.. except that Vi died in the first explosion ☹ that was very sad. A crazy "what could have been" moment that actually seems to have made peace between Piltover and Zaun. No hex tech.
I can understand why it could be so tempting for Ekko and Heimerdinger to stay in this alternate reality…But it isn’t their reality. Not their actual family. Truly a “What could have been”. But the best we can do is make OUR reality better.❤️
@Muxeroth Well, different choices for different people I suppose. Me personally, if I was a rebel leader trying to overthrow an oppressive government, I could never be at peace knowing I was abandoning the cause and living with a family that isn’t truly my own. I’d want to finish what I started.
11:09 Alternate Powder still having the rest of the arcane shards begs to question; Will she or someone else eventually invent hextech and doom their own reality? Is this inevitable in all timelines?
For me thats exactly what they were trying to imply, but I also think there might be a chance that it can work out differently, like so many other things in that timeline. In my own headcanon Piltover/Zaune might be more open to letting mages in or atleast inviting some into the city. I think one of the reasons Hextech went so bad is that Jayce and Victor never tried to get a mage into their development process, to have someone with expertise in a supervisor position to maybe point towards all the bad stuff that could happen and thus developing Hextech how it was truly meant to be, but thats realy out there and only what I personaly would like to see.
5:04 His own creation and weapon was his downfall. Just like the Hexcore. Pretty ironic and metaphorical in a way. Also I just realized I made an accidental pin with “down-fall”.😅😂
Dont worry, girl. I cried too when Powder and Ekko dance. It's so beautiful but so tragic. I wish they could have their happy ever after in every universe, but at least they are happy and together in one.
This episode felt like being scooped out with a mellon baller. Man. Ekko falling in love with the version of Powder who doesn't exist anymore is... I'm a mess. This is some Ao3 levels of nonsense that I was woefully unprepared for.
What I find nerve wrecking is that even with alt timelines some things never change and now Powder has both Ekkos and Heimmers notes on hexteck and seen it work (plus I don’t think they ever told her the true dangers of it). So now with the last shot of the hexcores, she’s might become the new Jayce and create hexteck.
I don't think so I think that scene of her putting the necklace Ekko gave her, away in the drawer with the stones means that she is happy with how things are
@@d.a.6293 I think she even suspects that there might be multiple dimensions since she saw her realities ekko unconscious in her arms and our realities ekko in front of her with different fit and stuff.
Dude thank you for this video my goodness, the genuine heartbreak i still feeling from this episode DAYS after watching it is unreal. Like this whole storyline was cruel and unusual punishment…nauseating💔💔
A cool detail I didn't ser anyone talking about is the fact that powder had more hextech gem fragments, but didn't use them because she realized ekko was not from that timeline and wanted to spend more time with him. At least, this is how I interpreted the scene where she puts the pendant in the drawer.
My cope is that with the cores and the pendant powder has all of the steps necessary to replicate the experiment and attempt to find Ekko again. But knowing this show he won’t get that happy ending.
This is my favorite episode of the season, its so beautiful 😍🥺😭 I'm so happy to know that at least in one universe Ekko and Powder (Jinx) are happy together 😍⏳💣💚💙
There goes Arcane again, finding new ways to kick me in the gut. Every. Single. Episode. Add to that the fact they had the audacity to go the hackneyed time-travel multiverse route...and nailed it so hard it hurt.
Now that we have Heimerdinger as a confirmed musician with a beautiful voice, surely instead of the Pentakill we should now have the Hexakill band which isn't even a double reference but a tri-reference. But to offset it we'd have to have Heimer in a band!

a detail that was found is that you can see silhouettes of ekko and powder's faces
the eyes and eyebrows are the easiest to spot
