I have been requested to do a Levi Ackerman rap for the longest time and considering I just finished season 3 of Attack On Titan I had to make this. Intro: This is probably me reading too much into this song. This song was great though.
If I just heard this song with no context, not seeing the title or nothing, I would've assumed it was about a military veteran that was from the roughest of rough areas and grew up in tough times, eventually signing up to be in the military just to get out of there. Then, after he grinded in the military for years on foreign land, rising through the ranks all the way to becoming a captain, he comes back to home soil to see the state of affairs - not liking what he sees - and starts to question what he was fighting for and why he was trying so hard to come back to this. And as the song would go on, it would show him gradually becoming optimistic about the future and becoming an important figure, not willing to let the status quo be what it was and he would try to bring some real change to his home.
But this is a song about Captain Levi and it was sad, yet badass. Kinda like Levi. DPS can add a +1 to his list of hits.

I teared up a bit hearing this. Levi is my favourite character in AoT so I was really looking forward to this. The sound of the beat and the harmony is next level! The lyrics match so well with Levi's character and his story arc. I can go on for pages about how everything worked so well, but listening to the song is a lot better. I love this so much. This rap brings me so much joy. It's on my playlist and on repeat for the next two months.

This masterpiece of a rap/song hybrid isn't emotionless, and while it certainly is quieter than most AoT raps and songs, you can still feel the raw anger and rage in the lyrics, as well as the self hatred and pain brought on by the position of a man forced to see his men die over and over again, a man brought to the brink again and again from birth all the way up to where he stands, at the pinnacle, and yet, these are the words of a man who refused to break and instead became stronger, yet at the cost of his heart. And even still, the small spark of hope for the future is still present, even if not for himself, then for his men.
