I have the same preference on torch John, those big formed handles are just horrible to grip..for some reason most mid range tig sets are supplied with them. It's always worth investing a little extra cash and getting a nice torch that fits your hand comfortably, after all that is the business end of a tig. Great review John. Thanks.

My old Oerlikon/Solomig Mig welder (26years old and still going strong) has a Pulse function. However, I really want to try Tig and I am on the lookout for good quality used machine so I can have a go. Great video and very informative so thanks for the upload!

The first part of this review took place in November 2019. Obviously the Coronavirus has interrupted this series as it has many things. The welder had to be isolated for six months and placed on oxygen. It has now recovered sufficiently to allow its performance to be evaluated without any degradation due to effects of Covid-19.

Good timing John. I think I will spring for an R-Tech welder. I only have crappy old MIG and have an upside down weld a nut to a broken stud job to do🙄 Any chance R-Tech would let you whip the cover off so we can have a peak inside? Obviously the electronics are up to it. Just wonder if the fan blows across all of the boards and heatsink or is ducted to just flow over the heatsink fins. Don't want to fill her up with grinding grit and general welding shite just to blow her up.
    Top video as always 👍

Hello John, thanks for posting, I am thinking of updating my TIG and this was the one I was thinking of getting , this will help me choose . Are there any downsides? are you on a 13amp household plug or a 16amp blue one? Dont worry if you are struggling to answer, i understand how busy you must be. Thanks, Chris.
