This is so cool. Definitely interested in using it as sort of a random accompanist to what I’m playing improvisation into it! Kind of wish that the pitch feature was not universal but worked on a per loop basis, so that could be used to create some interesting harmony. Also, it would be great if there was a multi-channel feature so that the various loops could be sent to different channels and further processed or just panned to different aspects of the stereo spectrum. Would be a very cool feature for a future update or something to consider adding in your next instrument. Thank you so much for your hard work and I’m definitely gonna use the heck out of this! ❤
@@Apuat thanks so much! I looked into the multi channel thing at some point and the TLDR is that it’s really hard for AUs, but totally possible for VSTs, and it didn’t sit right with me to charge the same amount for people getting different experiences and features, but it’s an idea I’ve been sitting with for a bit. Regarding multiple pitches… stay tuned? 😉
This is absolutely one of the best demo videos I've ever watched! You really have a gift for software, *and* explanation, and that's rare! Keep up the good work! (Oh yeah, Ridgewalk is pretty cool too 🙂).
Lovely! Just came across weeping wall recently and now this! I may be selling my microcosm pedal, this is way more intuitive and hands on in my opinion.
This looks great man! Love the gui and nature scene. Would be kinda cool to have different scenes in the background. I’m looking forward to giving this a try! Will be great to put a few delay effects and stuff after it in aum as well. Great stuff!
Finally got RW on iOS and i got a say it’s really good! A lot of fun and different concepts that the normal looper. Digging your apps and hope you continue to create iOS apps! I know the iOS community can be a lil rough sometimes but it’s all in good love hehe! Thanks for making this one man its a blast
thanks a lot!! The iOS community is great haha. I come from a hardware background with nice little pocket communities, which I wasn't really finding with desktop plugins but definitely found in the iOS world!
This is such a cool idea, I do use paulstretch and Ribs from time to time, what I don't understand is how it works in daw, because I get how you can import audio into it and mess around with it, but in daw there are a lot of important things to consider as well - Syncing play to the daw playing - Having it capture in real time (and also applying the affect as it happens) - Not being limited to 4 bar loops (meaning much longer ones or perhaps different time signatures) What would make me instantly buy this is if it would work like reverb but apply granular effects as it goes So I would appreciate if you could explain better what this does, and perhaps even a demo of using it with an actual song, I think it would definitely show its true potential
hey there, sorry if things weren't clear from this video, but Ridgewalk is capable of all of the things you listed! - Ridgewalk can sync to your DAW's transport. Playback and recording can be synced, and you can clock the buffer size, looper size, and traversal speed - Ridgewalk captures audio and will start the granular effect as soon as possible (i.e. as soon as the recording is longer than the requested looper size) - Ridgewalk's buffer can go up to 16 bars long or 60 seconds I'm going to link the text manual in the description of this video as well, maybe that'll help clarify some things too!
@@AqeelAadam Thanks a lot for the response, could you perhaps to a deal of buying 2 of your plugins with a cheaper price together? it's called gumroad bundle and I saw that the other plugin you made is incredible too
@@elzurixmusic you’re welcome - I’m going to make a bundle after the initial launch discount is through. That audio buffer section is brilliant and soubds amazing, although I think it would be helpful to have a setting where it overwrites the previous layer instead of overdubbing, as sometimes less is more. Great plugin though, and with a beautiful interface. Might have to pick up a copy.
@@DeadzoneMusic oh! You can turn off overdubbing completely so that each layer is a totally new recording. I guess I forgot to mention in here 😓 there’s a lot going on haha
@@DeadzoneMusic sort of! What you could do instead is to use the classic recoding mode, and leave it recording infinitely, with no overdubbing. This will essentially turn Ridgewalk into a live delay line which then gets fed into the algorithm, sort of like Mutable Clouds or Beads if you’re familiar
thanks for your interest! There's a bundle on iOS, and there *will* be a bundle on Ridgewalk once the launch discount is done. What you can do right now on Gumroad is add Ridgewalk to your cart, and you should have the option to add Weeping Wall as well at a discounted rate
Great app! One thing that I noticed on the iOS version is we need to be able to turn the Mic off. Particularly when importing a file. Otherwise you hear your voice and other background noise coming in. Is this possible?
@@bjamminsincebirth3494 sorry about that! I will table that for a future update. You should be able to leave the audio input muted when loading a file. You can also drop the dry volume to minimum if you’re not using it
@@AldoFurioso hey there, there should be an introductory price for the desktop version via the link in the description, and a bundle available at checkout. On iOS, there is a bundle currently processing, it will be available whenever the App Store decides :)
