You know the narrative and character development is good when they make a slavemaster hottie with parental issues likable. Like i cried when they have to tragically kill him in order for senua to have a turning point against thorgestr's father.

I absolutely loved this game. It was cinematically gorgeous, the storytelling was unbelievable. I felt like I was watching a movie the entire time. I understand the hate for this game - calling it a walking sim, etc etc. But I believe there is a serious and dedicated audience for games such as these that focus on the story above all else. I've already watched this through once on a different channel, but I'm here again because I can't wait to see your playthrough of it! I still can't get over Martha Is Dead and I got the same feeling from this game that I got from that one. Thank you so much for the consistently wonderful content!

Ok, now that I've finished watching the whole thing, I had to comment because I truly hope that everyone that worked on this game receives the recognition that they deserve. - no spoilers ahead - It's nothing short of a masterpiece, art, just like you said. It was powerful and moving and I just wish you'd let the credits roll for a bit so that I can cry in peace. There are some bits that I would've wanted different but they pale completely when you think of the game as a whole. Like another commenter said, this is not just a game, but an experience and I'm glad to have gone through it. It overturned my expectations quite a few times and I loved the ending. The last shot - chef's kiss -. The sound design with all the voice recordings - for the characters, the fights, the voices and the music - was superb. I felt both terrified and comforted. The characters develop enough and the pacing of the game is perfect. I agree with you on that small lull but it's really no bother. I feel like it was overall very varied and achieved it's purpose: it's impactul and heartfelt. I really appreciate its treatment of the bosses. Although the trope of "hurt people hurt people" is familiar to us all, to me the way it was done feels fresh and caring. I truly truly hope the team gets to see all the positive reviews, all the people who have enjoyed the game deeply because, knmy opinion, they truly deserve praise. Thank you Morph, for playing the game and posting it for all of us to see

Alright, I’ve finished it and it is great. It feels like I’ve watched 6-hour long movie and it has never lost my attention. I wanted to see and absorb every bit of it, the work is amazing, everything from sound to visuals. I liked the fighting! It’s rare to me to like fighting in games, because it usually feels off and is repetitive. Here, every move had weight and inertion, and felt natural. I’m not a pro, and to me fights felt realistic compared to many other games. I also liked that Senua and her enemies had some new moves and finishing sequences every now and then, and she interacted with her allies in battle, making it very dynamic. Camera angles… chef’s kiss, at least from cinematic point of view.
5:03:24 I’ve read and heard it as “this place is shitting” and it isn’t too far from the truth.
Warning - below is my grumbling, and there is a little spoiler to the ending. You have been warned 😊
There is something, however, that I am not quite content with. I liked the story, but to me it lacked some human to human interaction. I mean, she traveled all that way alongside her companions, but it seemed that they’ve traveled different paths. I imagine how Senua suddenly started to hallucinate and run around fighting air and screaming, and they were like “Ah, that madwoman is having her thing again, let her be” 😂 Or worse, I imagine how she became totally unresponsive and they had to carry her around while she was in her own head fighting her own demons.
It was sometimes touching, moving, emotional, but I just wasn’t convinced that it was possible to have that powerful bond with a person you’ve only spoken with few times, half of them cursing. I find it hard to believe. That is why the ending felt weird to me. After having two epic bosses, the final one was “meh”. I get it, I get it, they wanted to show that the real tyrant is power-hungry repulsive man, but… uh. 😐 That last boss fight wasn’t epic, and the last part of it was as miserable as the man himself. I mean, the part where he was just the tired old man and his own people betrayed him. 😢 He is a fool and he made a lot of mistakes, and it’s good that Senua kept some kind of common sense in the end of it all. It just felt anti-climactic somehow. There were real giants before, and then all of a sudden, the final one, who was expected to be the most cool one… that?
All in all, I liked it A LOT ❤ though I feel like it has not been finished properly. What became of other companions? What happened to their people? What happened to Gothi’s people? What have Senua decided to do with her life after that? So many questions!

Years ago, I had the same kind of experience when I was in college where I was worried I was unintentionally intimidating someone. I'm a girl, but my hair was cut short and bleached at the time. I'm not very tall, but it was dark and cold and I was bundled up in a hoodie with a denim jacket. I was traveling across campus and a girl walking was about ten feet ahead of me going in the same direction. She kept looking back and seemed nervous for some reason. Dimwit me just kept looking behind me to see what she was looking at. It then dawned on me that she was scared of me because we'd been going the same direction for quite a while out of circumstance. I slowed down to give her some space and she darted off in another direction at one point. I didn't follow. Part of me felt really bad for making her scared, but a stray, extremely irresponsible part of me wondered what would have happened if I'd started running. (I never would have but it was a strongly curious afterthought.)

4:14:28 excuse me, but how small are we talking? I mean… if you talk about ant-sized human, than yes, maybe a piece of cake can be a lifetime supply of cake. Especially considering lifetime shortening 😅 If you talk about little person, though… no, it doesn’t work like that, a piece of cake is still just a piece of cake. Also, take a look at some small animals’ and birds’ metabolism - it’s so fast that they need to eat constantly, otherwise they’ll die of starvation.
I sometimes feel like in humans it works the same way… I need to eat every 2 hours, and I usually have snacks between meals. My meals serving size does not differ too much from any other family member. I definitely eat more than my mom, and sometimes I eat more than my dad 😂
If this made you think I’m large person, you’re not quite right. I’m as high as 141 cm (4’8) and I weigh 38 kg (84 lb). I thought that metabolism would slow down with age, but it didn’t so far. I’m 36 now, well, maybe later in life I’ll need less energy, I don’t know. Right now it seems anything I consume just burns almost immediately.
    Edited to add:
Clothing for a person my size is a trouble, too. And shoes. And furniture. It’s all made for average sized people.
My shoes and some clothing must be made to measure (and it is expensive). Some basic clothing I can buy in kids’ clothing shops, but it often has to be tailored to fit me well (I may be as tall as a kid, but I am adult woman and I have some curves).
Recently I’ve moved to my own apartment and I’ve made renovation. All furniture here was made to measure, as I wanted it to accomodate to my height. I mean, the cloakroom, the wardrobe, cupboards and such. I had to adjust everything to my height to be able to reach hangers without any additional step-ladders. I also tried to lower kitchen cabinets and tabletops as much as possible, so I could cook comfortably. They all still are in that “average size” range, just on its lower verge. I am happy now, because I don’t have to walk around the house with my little step-ladder to reach anything 😂 It is annoying to live in places where you can’t even reach the light switch, let alone coat hangers and cupboards. Sticks and ladders are my friends.
Ah, and there is one special kind of disappointment and frustration, when I come to public restroom and see that mirrors are placed a bit too high and I can only see my forehead. Once I have visited a restroom where not only mirror was placed too high, but the sink itself sat so high that I couldn’t even reach the tap to turn water on. Well, that was quite bizzarre experience.

Also did anyone else find the voices funny sometimes? Like they are constantly switching opinions and saying two different things in the span of a few minutes, like with Astrior, first they were like, "we can't trust her" to, "she is like us, we can trust her" and they were all mad that she left them then were all like, "she knows how strong we are" hahaha I find this so funny!

Wow, I hadn't even known this game came out yet, but absolutely incredible. I'll admit I am a sucker for folklore, but the visuals, the sound design, and the narrative was amazing. And the voice acting, my days. Most of the time I hate the constant voices, but it fit really well here and all the emotion behind every line. just wow. It felt more like an interactive movie than the typical game that I enjoy playing, but I'll probably still snag a copy for the experience. I think I have the first one somewhere which I am now compelled to find and finish, great vod

Yo I understand you Morph with the laughing at the most uncomfortable situation/moment, my late grandfather passed when I was sitting in an exam, the only thing I did as I heard that and when I saw his body was laugh, got scolded so I just kept my mouth shut. While on the contrary my sister had a full on breakdown in her class, I think it just depends on how you cope with news, when I'm nervous/scared/shocked or mad I'd just laugh it off and then later probably a few hours to a few days later would I process my emotions and get mad/sad later. Till this day I'd get sad when I remember him on his death bed. Glad to know I'm not the only person that does that. 😂❤

I think the people that lived in those villages had lots of stuff to do. You couldn't just buy stuff, but you would do a lot together. Like make clothes, prep food for winter, play, talk, enjoy life with everyone else. (make furniture, clothes, explore etc.) there's lots of things you can do, especially if you need to do it from the ground up. :9 And gossip of course was a big thing, but a lot of it also happened between villages. Or what have happened, like you would talk a lot more to each other. That and just generally doing and creating stuff. Remember, if you can't just purchase processed food, you need to do quite a lot to craft it. But there were also a lot more social-stuff people did (like harvest came around all would help, those kind of things.
And in regards to the giants that get sacrifices, I've never actually come across it, besides in greek stories and such. (like cronos (a giant) who eats his sons and daughters, etc.) Most of the stories from scandinavia that I know of has giants in them, but I haven't stumbled across them where they have been evil or such. They're mostly tied to the wild nature, and needs to be respected. I believe even Odin's mother (like zeus, i guess) was jotunn (giant). But iatun (the word that orgiinally meant to talk about them, had the meaning "to eat, or overeater" and there was a saga where loki looses an eating contest in jotunheim etc. so there's certainly some things. But the only reason giants and gods were locked in conflict was because the gods killed ymir. At least that's what I've read so far. (I'm from one of the Scandinavian countries).

1:06:20 yes, I am poet and I’ve been to quite a few open mic poetry nights, and it depends on where it is held. I rarely read my own poetry, but it is my “job” (to a certain degree) as poetry author to attend such events. I feel like in larger cities and at fancier places these events may really be enjoyable and well-organized. Some underground ones, which usually take place at bars, are far less refined and more chaotic, but have spirit of freedom and openness and can really surprize with some gems. Usually poets gravitate to one or another kind of events and places depending on their personal writing style and their social circle. At least, it is like that where I live. It’s fine to laugh if poem is meant to be funny and humorous. If I hear some very raw poetry, it makes me sad rather than laugh. Yes, I prefer to think of it as cooked meal: put it on a plate too soon and it’ll definitely be in need for additional effort, but fiddle with it too long and you’ll get either stone-hard coal or unrecognizable slush without any soul. If it happens so that I have an urge to laugh at some verses, I start to think about it professionally. You know, analyze it from A to Z, guess the rhythm, think about rhymes, note some nice word combinations etc. It helps to hold any sarcastic laugh inside 😅

I really loved the gameplay from the first game, the story was amazing. I unfortunately couldn’t play it myself, I couldn’t get past the first 2 “boss-fights” to open the big door in the beginning of the game😅
    Edit: what a amazing game!

2:00:22 Hey Morph, people in general are definitely getting, uh, not as bright. 😂 Seen Idiocracy? That movie said it all...
2:23:07 I am terrified of caves. Those tales about people getting stuck on tight passages are just - ugh. And underwater caves? Double whammy UGH, terrifying!

I did click away. My comment was for the algorithm, to boost the channel. It's not the channel's fault the game is boring. :)
