The fence looks great James. It will be a good fence for many woodworkers.
It won’t work on my drill press because I have a wood composite table on it. The table came with a fence with an adjustable opening in the middle and a stop that can be rotated to any angle.

Oh boy, I just looked at the prices on the fences. The small fence is priced at what the regular price of the large fence was at the time ($217). The large fence is $289. My how prices have changed in a year.

Rest assured, you laughed exactly the right amount.
The only thing I regret about my SawStop (aluminum top) JobSite saw is the inability to use a Magswitch feather board. Great tool review.

I'm probably a little late to this discussion but perhaps this lapse will provide a bit more feedback from people who have and use this fence? Firstly, I just ordered the Nova Voyager and as awesome as everything in this video looks, I have a bit of concern about the height of the fence interfering with the quill handle. Especially since the Nova has a 6 inch quill travel in 2 full turns. I realize you can take off a handle, but does this make it harder to operate? Does this effectively reduce my awesome quill travel? Also, without a dedicated table, it looks harder to use stops (repeated stops I mean). My current dp table has an incra fence that I built which allows for repeatability and I',m a tad concerned that I would be giving that up. I am super intrigued by this product but that's the concerns I currently have. Would love some feedback from those who use this product, particularly with Nova Voyager as it has 6 inch quill travel. Thanks in advance. PS, I have the twin turbo vice and I am a huge fan of Andy's brilliance.
James I love your videos, I went back and watched the miter saw station videos again. I noticed all of your outlets are upside down. This is normally done to indicate half of an outlet is switched. Is there a reason you did this?

My experience with recently manufactured Powermatic brand machinery is that it is 3rd rate import stuff painted gold and dressed up with deficient "features".

Question(s), I own a Sawstop PCS table saw, is the Magswitch vertical fence compatible with my stock fence and does it prevent the wood from "walking" (for lack of a better term) away from the fence when doing rip cuts with the universal featherboard? I've recently purchased the Jess Em clear cut system and it seems to stop this effect, however I'm not thrilled about mounting it to my fence. Thoughts?

I just bought this and the fence slides. My table is clean. Is this typical? I’m returning what I bought and am unsure if I should get a replacement or move on. Otherwise very well built and solid. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much for responding! The product seems very well built but the when I engage the magnets the table still slides a bit when I push on the sides. I'm not pushing with that much force so am wondering if I just got a bad fence and should reorder or move on? My table is clean.
It’s not designed to withstand a whole lot of force. Typically people will set the pieces against it without banging them.
But if you feel that it’s moving too easy. Maybe clean the bottom of the fence well with alcohol, and clean the drill press table the same way. This will remove any small amount of oils that may be on them.
If that gives no benefit, perhaps reach out to Magswitch. They are a very honorable company. If there’s an issue, they’ll fix it.
@@KingsFineWoodworking thanks. I will try the alcohol idea. I think I just got unlucky. The fence is really well built and reviews are very strong throughout the internet. I'm going to get a replacement.

Just a coment : it does not matter if the fence is square to the table , important is if the spindle is perpendicular to the fence or to the column of the drill press if is not then the fence is garbage just my Humboldt opinion

Hi Les, they do sell just the magnets, all sizes. But like Harry M said, it really depends on what the chop saw base is made of. Every chop saw I have seen has a base made of aluminum. And magnets wont stick to that.

Heh, I have a small drill press and made a large wooden table for it. I need the surface space more than I need a fence quite honestly.
Yup. Some people prefer that. Its totally understandable.
@@KingsFineWoodworking Now if they made a plate for under that fence, that may be an option I could look into. But yeah, bench top drill press just won't work with that type of rig.
