This one's a real treasure. Dennis Kamakahi, a younger man then with Sons of Hawaii, playing one he wrote and which is one of my most favorite songs. Listening now April 2020 and loving these videos. When I was stationed in Pearl Harbor in 1985, I listened only to KCCN radio though I am a native Texan who happens to be black (not of African descent.) My introduction to Gabby Pahinui was when I visited a record and bookstore in Waikiki called Jelly's. The store clerk was playing his music from a pizza sized record (can't recall the name of those large records) and when I asked the name of the musician she offered to make a cassette copy. 😊 I still have the cassette to this day though I don't have a cassette player. Again, many thanks for making it possible to listen to and to view the performance of this more traditional Hawaiian music.
