This is the first time I realized i could be myself's own best friend. Sometimes my own thoughts go against me and is my worst enemy. I heard once "It's okay if u feel like u're lying to urself by these kind words , but keep on telling them to urself anyway , one-day u'll really believe them just make it a habit" so I think u should keep going and it'll take time ❤️
Just wanted to add to this conversation! Another way that may be helpful is to tell yourself something more neutral like, "I made an effort" or "I'm human". Using neutral statements that are also comforting may help you with bridging yourself to more kind thoughts.
