I know right! She says she just lost the classical style of singing and doesn't know if she'll ever go back to it, which I respect, and I think she sounds good with newer songs but whenever they play their old songs you can really tell her new style doesn't fit at all.

I think you are refering to her voice in general, not just the opera voice... Yes simone seems to be failling a lot as a singer but recently she got a little bit better and she's more worried about how her voice sounds on stage which is a good thing.
